What a non-minority won´t dare

The banning of LA Clipper owner, Donald Sterling, from the NBA for life, for allegedly making racist remarks, calls for a long overdue debate about the meaning of racism. I did not listen to the secret audio tape of Mr. Sterling so I can´t comment on his remarks. However, the fact that he is a billionaire that pays millions of dollars for black players on his team disqualifies him as a racist. Los Angeles Clippers guard J.J. This is an excellent analysis of the difference between bigotry and racism.

Having been hammered with the word racist for so long, I almost forgot the word bigot existed.

Well worth the read!

We´ll done, Alicia!

Thanks for pointing out the difference between "racist" and "bigot". I hate to admit it, but in the last 5 1/2 years I have become a bigot, though not against blacks that I know personally. They have intact families, jobs and traditional values.

I have become bigoted against the entitled, lazy, not willing to work, "racist!" screaming, criminal, knockout playing, arrogant ignorant blacks who are Holder´s "people" and who make up zippy´s base. Holder´s and 0bama´s actions have given these low life´s the green light to inflict themselves on the rest of us and nothing good has come of it.

From Merriam-Webster--

BIGOT:
a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

RACISM:
1: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2: racial prejudice or discrimination

"Prejudice" refers to judging someone based on some outward characteristic (e.g. ´woman driver´). We are told not to judge a book by its cover. We overcome prejudice by learning to deal with people as individuals, rather than as members of some undesirable group.

"Bigotry" is prejudice retained in spite of evidence to the contrary. "Racism" is bigotry based on race.

Probably the best example of bigotry and racism today would be the consistent, anti-white prejudice so prevalent in the black community.

Consider two facts that Ms. Colon points out about Don Sterling:
1. "the fact that he is a billionaire that pays millions of dollars for black players on his team disqualifies him as a racist."
2. "Los Angeles Clippers guard J.J. Redick now says that owner Donald Sterling was hesitant to sign him last summer because he´s white."

While Sterling isn´t a sympathetic figure, he was, presumably, passionate about making money. It meant that, at least, ten young men (two sets of five) were paid handsomely to work up a sweat at a game. Part of that billion dollars Sterling makes was paid out in taxes which, if we are honest, pays for a lot of things that benefit minorities.

The fact that Sterling was hesitant to hire a white player could be said to be reverse discrimination. You know the saying about white basketball players, "White men can´t jump". If that isn´t the reason, then compare Sterling to a person who owns a race horse. Would a person who makes his money off of champion race horses be expected to buy a limp horse?

Sterling made his biggest mistake in flaunting the fact that he has a mistress. Probably, though, if said mistress was lily-white and nearer sterling´s age, his current problem would never have materialized.

So Sterling was a bigot in his personal life and ?? He paid top dollar to his black athletes who (as far as I can tell) never complained about his business dealings with them.

And I have to admit, until I know you black person personally, I have my doubts.

A colored guy, whom I consider to be one of my best friends, (go ahead and cue laugh track if you must) stopped by over the weekend. He proudly announced that one of his nephews had gotten a full ride scholarship to Princeton. I was very happy for my friend and his nephew.

I asked if he planned on majoring in math, science, or engineering, or something else that would benefit this country. The answer: Political Science. I was devastated. Will it never end?

Alicia is right. The Obama regime (Holder, and now the head of his "civilian army," Jeh Johnson) has done more than stimulate gun sales; it has biased us toward bigotry.

Since Sterling Has a Black mistress, mostly a team of Blacks, and a Black coach, I believe the terms bigot and racist are both incorrect and do not apply here. That will make it tough for the NBA to enforce any sanctions or fines.

If he is a racist and bigot as charged, he does an awful lot of consorting with the so called enemy. Any way you look at this, I don´t think the tapes would be allowed into court.

#8 brought up something that really bothers me. We all know that supposed trope about "some of my best friends are black". But why the heck is it now used to allegedly "prove" that someone really IS racist if they say that? It is one of those leftist "gotcha" Catch 22 things. Over the years, I had a ton of black friends--sadly, many of them are dead now (most were older than me). One friend, who died of liver disease was like my sister. She was one of the closest friends I have ever had and she thought of me as a sister and was her best female friend as well as a member of the family. So, when someone tries to falsely call me racist, what the heck is one supposed to do? Just take it? The leftists have become masters at using the English language against any and everyone who does not toe the leftist line. We need to find a way to counter this. It is not right nor fair that they should be able to pull that cynical stuff on anyone they want to use their Alinsky tactics on.

So what is prejudice retained because of evidence? I don´t like Mexican culture because I am surrounded by it, by illegal aliens who don´t respect our laws, don´t respect their neighbors or our culture. They got here illegally, get preferences in employment and education, march in our streets demanding rights and demanding law enforcement not enforce the laws, play loud ridiculous music at all hours, burn trash and build outbuildings despite ordinances (I´ve told Codes and Enforcement several times, but nothing is ever done), buy pitbull dogs that they tie up, never pay attention to, and bark nonstop. etc. I may be a racist or a bigot. So what? I´m sick of preferred minorities who the laws don´t apply to. If we aren´t a Nation of Laws, then we have anarchy.

Mr. Sterling probably didn´t want his sweetie hanging out with Magic for fear that she might get exposed to HIV. For those with a short memory, Magic announced in 1991 that he had contracted the AIDS virus. And despite all the drugs he probably takes, he still carries it and can probably transmit it as well.

Last January 2013, then Defense Secretary, Leon Panetta, ordered the Joint Chiefs of Staff to study the feasibility of opening all military jobs to women by 2016. This would include more than 200,000 jobs that make up the core of the ground-level combat force in the Army and the Marine Corps. Opponents of women in combat argue, rightly in my opinion, that the military´s physical standards must not be compromised to expand access because our military´s fighting effectiveness is at stake. The Washington Post reports on the Obama administration’s latest effort to sow global warming panic: The satellite images viewed by President Barack Obama before a meeting with eight Western governors were stark, showing how snowpack in California’s mountains had shrunk by 86 percent in a single year. “It was a ‘Houston, we have a problem’ moment,” recalled White House counselor John Podesta, one of two aides who briefed the president that February day. Obama mentioned the images several times as he warned the governors that political leaders had no choice but to cope with global warming’s impact. This is beyond stupid. Seriously: is

In at least one case, the answer is yes. In the fictional Washington of ABC’s Scandal, B613 is a super-secret spy agency that operates outside the bounds of the federal government, using its assets to “protect the Republic.” Similar to B613, the real-life Consumer Financial Protection
