Washington - A leading Democratic pollster predicted a "sobering" turnout disadvantage for her party in this year´s midterm elections and called on Democrats to articulate "a bigger economic agenda" this fall. "There is a huge turnout disadvantage and challenge," Democratic pollster Celinda Lake said Tuesday at a breakfast with reporters. "There is always a challenge in turnout in an off year, but it´s really dramatic this time." Lake was speaking a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. Lake and Republican pollster Ed Goeas revealed results of a new George Washington University poll that showed GOP voter intensity in 2014 outpacing

Obama has either done too good a job or a lousy enough job to turnout his base,I can´t figure out which one. There´s some crossover issues the left is disenchanted about like the level of domestic spying.A lot are shocked they have to pay for healthcare because to them, there´s no way Obama would lie about healthcare being affordable. Little do they know how their political reps lie like hell to get their agenda through.

"A leading Democratic pollster, Celinda Lake.."? What does it take to be a leading pollster these days? Never heard of her. Real Democrats get their orders from Hairy Reid and Nanny Pelosi.

#2, Celinda Lake is well-known and respected as a Democrat pollster and teamed for years (maybe still does) with a Republican pollster to analyze, strategize and predict. You would probably recognize her face.

I found the last paragraph interesting: "Trying to make the Koch brothers into red meat is going to be about as effective as what we tried to do for several cycles with George Soros," Goeas said. "Most people don’t know who they are." RE: Soros, Glenn Beck was doing a very good job of raising national consciousness about Spooky Dude. It seemed to me that that was why Fox dumped him. He was getting too close to the truth. One reason I don´t miss Fox News. That, and the insufferable fluff pieces.

Even though I am no longer a republican, I hope they will have the good sense to stick to issues that appeal to people on both sides. (I changed to independent the day after observing the ethics of the "chair" at the republican convention during a voice vote involving Ron Paul supporters.)
1) our government spying on us
2) drones used in the U.S.
3) the IRS targeting anyone based on politics
4) being at the mercy of a government employee for approval of medical care
5) forcing anyone to buy a worse insurance policy and change doctors

Listen up. Just remember, the progressives have never done so much damage in so short a time. They are relentless in their desire to totally transform this country and they want to finish the job. Although I do believe they have hurt their cause, they will not give up. We will have to fight for every vote. They want us confident and complacent. Now is not the time to let up. Everyday the battle must be renewed. The importance of 2014 and 2016 can´t be stressed enough. Either we win both or we lose everything. Don´t be lulled into a false sense of security. The media will do whatever it takes to give them an advantage. Polls will be meaningless because of their manipulation. Ignore them. It´s come down to all or nothing. We MUST prevail or the country we love is lost.

It would be wise to remember that the Obama/MSM campaign - the corrupt collusion that won the White House and senate twice - will be in full gear with new lies, cover-ups, smears, false memes, blood libels and malicious fabrications in preparation for glorious Democrat victories in November. We eagerly predicted there was no way such an obvious failure could ever be reelected to the Oval Office in 2012, and look what happened (thank you "War on Women" and "Gutsy Call"). Optimism for this year is not yet called for, given the length these charlatans will go to mislead.

Democrat and RINO GOP Establishment disadvantage and a Tea Party advantage. By November things will have gotten worse with just about everything. Russia will have made more moves, Zerocare will continue it´s mission of spreading the misery around, the Ocations will have been nonstop and get even more opulent and extravagant, and unemployment will stay in the tank. Gas will get to above $5 a gallon over the summer and peoples disposable income will continue to decline causing even more sag in the economy. Could be the perfect storm. Of course all of the misery and blame will be laid at the feet of greedy hater racist homophobic republicans that are against everything and only for the rich white people. Federal employees, like all Americans, are entitled to hold passionate political beliefs. Most executive branch federal employees, however, may not engage in certain political activities, thanks to an anti-conflict of interest principle enshrined in a federal law called the Hatch Act. To wit, President Bush requested the resignation of his GSA administrator in 2008 after the US Office of Special Counsel determined she had violated federal law by participating in a video conference with Karl Rove and sending out partisan letters. Seventeen percent of people in the United States say immigration is the nation’s top problem, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday. That´s up from 5 percent in June, and is the highest number Gallup has registered for immigration since 2006, when 15 percent said it was the nation´s most pressing problem. Gallup’s new survey found immigration is virtually tied with “dissatisfaction with government” as the nation´s top problem. The economy and unemployment rank below immigration and “dissatisfaction with government" as top problems, the new poll found. How would you feel if someone promised to give you a car, and then reneged on that pledge? That’s how all Americans should feel when it comes to ObamaCare -- because Barack Obama’s failed and discredited campaign promise to lower health insurance premiums has cost the average American family an amount equal to the price of many new cars. During his 2008 campaign, one of then-Senator Obama’s most audacious promises was that his health plan would reduce premiums by $2,500 for the average family. His repeatedly made his pledge on videotape; you can view those promises here. But health insurance premiums

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

The headline in the Washington Post on June 4 was clear: Rove-backed American Crossroads won’t get involved in Cochran runoff Said the Post story the day after Tea Party favorite Chris McDaniel had defeated six-term Mississippi GOP Senator Thad Cochran in the first round of the state’s GOP primary: American Crossroads, a GOP establishment organization, has decided to shift its political focus almost entirely to the general election and will not be spending money in the likely runoff election to decide the Mississippi Senate nomination that was virtually deadlocked after Tuesday night. Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
