Michelle: Barack ´Has Dragged Me
Kicking and Screaming Into Things
that I Wanted No Parts Of´

Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

In a question and answer session at Stanford Center at Peking University in Beijing, China, First Lady Michelle Obama said that sometimes one needs to do things she´s uncomfortable with. She made the comments in response to a question about studying abroad. (Snip) The first lady responded, "Excellent. And one thing that you pointed out that I think it’s important to consider is not letting fear be your guide. Andthat’s oftentimes what holds many young people back from doing fabulous things. Let’s take my husband, for example. He hasdragged me kicking and screaming into things that I wanted parts of. (Laughter.) And a lot of it was

Comments:
Nothing like airing your dirty laundry on a "vacation" in China. She can't even phrase the sentence properly.

Wow. Let´s just imagine if instead of Dear Leader, a Republican was accused of "dragging me kicking and screaming" by a black woman. How many seconds before the unbiased MSM (radical feminist man-hater department) would have him guillotined, flogged, dismembered and thrown to the wolves? But I guess it´s really cool when the First Marxist Lady says it, because Dear Leader.

And we’re living in a world where we can no longer afford to let fear keep us apart, because the truth -- what I have learned, coming from the background I come from -- I grew up in a little apartment on the South Side of Chicago. My parents didn’t get a chance to go to college, but they poured everything they had into me.

Wasted money and effort.

And no one could have envisioned that a kid like me would be sitting here, having given a speech at Peking University as the First Lady of the United States.

"And I´m humble, too."

So I want all of the young people around the world to operate with the freedom that we have all fought for -- the freedom to explore the world, to learn about new cultures, to try hard things, to make mistakes.

Does she think this is news that she alone brings down from on high?

...and learning that you recover from even some of your worst mistakes, so that that fear doesn’t keep you from being as excellent as you can be.

"....like me."

..it’s that first step of leaving your country, speaking another language, having it come out of your voice, your lips, and having someone here actually understand you. And you think, well, that wasn’t that bad.

Incisive and utterly brilliant.

Michelle Obama is in China with her mother and daughters to talk about education.

...and to harass and humiliate the hotel staff, behave ostentatiously, and to make life generally miserable for everyone. I´ll bet the Chinese cannot wait until these nouveau riche leave town and take their pomposity with them.

We have to remind ourselves these speeches and this trip are meant to impress the billions of lofos and nofos across the world--who will be her supporters when she gets into global foundation or UN "work" after the WH.

Blairs, Clintons, Obamas, all firming up their foundations and continuing their high-living lifestyles. Wait till a Saudi thinks it´s a good idea and follows their template in the Muslim world. . . .

From the mouth of the MIASS (Moocher In A Sleeveless Sack): "And that’s what I think study abroad -- it’s that first step of leaving your country, speaking another language, having it come out of your voice, your lips, and having someone here actually understand you. And you think, well, that wasn’t that bad." Which second language (not counting Ebonics) does she speak?

Michelle often brags about what she has accomplished. What, exactly, is on that list? Her husband got elected as President. She´s been elected to nothing. She has destroyed the school lunch program, spent millions of our dollars on expensive vacations for her and her family, forced the WH staff to plant a garden on the WH lawn, and in general lives a lifestyle she neither earned or deserves and lives it at other people´s expense.

Her Princeton "credentials" are over-embellished. Looks like she got the same affirmative axshun pass Obama did. ´ would love to see a little Chinese girl stand up and ask, "Should we study abroad to learn to speak properly or like you do, learned in America, with the fragmented sentences, poor sentence structure? You might need a teleprompter, ask Barack about it. Btw, why are you here at US taxpayer expense and keeping it so secretive from American media? Since when is being first lady a paid position?".

The difference between you and the rest of us is that you get to leave and take multimillion dollar vacations on our dime. We have to sit here and watch our country be destroyed. Considering our standing in the world when it comes to education, I would think the wise course of action would be to visit their schools and picks their brains. It would be interesting to compare and contrast an American classroom with a Chinese classroom. I think you would see structure instead of chaos. That does not play well when it comes to innovation and outside the box thinking, but you have to have the fundamentals before you can bounce off them. Right now chaos and misinformation rules at many American schools. If Mrs. Obama is truly interested in education, she could avail herself of a golden opportunity to learn something she could bring back other than a huge travel bill for the American taxpayer to pay.

Re #31 and 37: That´s what had occurred to me, too.

The late Christopher Hitchens, after perusing Michelle Obama´s thesis with its middle school diction (and that´s being generous), wrote that she didn´t write (or speak) in any known language. Like her husband, she was a painfully obvious beneficiary of affirmative action programs, her ticket to an Ive League education for which she could never have qualified on her own. There´s little evidence that she learned anything of value there. She knows deep inside that she isn´t very smart, is a fraud like Barack, and must do something to keep up the illusion that she´s intelligent and well-educated. Instead, she´s just gauche, which just happens to be French for "left."

Let´s not wonder why she sounds so outright dumb. She got into Princeton because of her friendship with Jessie de rectum Jackthon´s daughter. He got her in via the black entitlement shovel. When she ´graduated´ with a thesis that would have been unacceptable for another color, law school took her because she filled the woman/black quota. The law firm that hired her after ´graduation´ must have regretted that once she started ´working´ there. She showed up midday, reading newspapers and romance novels. We all remember how she got the ´created´ job at the hospital with a huge salary and a 3x a week show up for a few hours. Thanks to the thug who is now in the oval!
Loved reading all the above posted comments, made my Sunday. Wished they would keep her over there!

Moochelle put herself into situations where she has been recorded as being impatient with respect for the flag of America. She has expressed her disapproval of this country until her husband became a candidate.
She lied about contents of a document and consequently lost her law license. And now she disassociated herself with her man and events she was not particularly enamored.
Poor baby! I am sure all readers here feel such great sympathy for this whiny woman.

Her father really wasn´t a "big wig" in Chicago. He was a boiler worker and a ward heeler. ("a minor politician who canvasses voters and does other chores for a political machine or party boss") Today he´d be rounding up Dem voters, putting them on a bus and feeding them fried chicken to get them to vote.

A look at photos from the past shows her mother with a dissatisfied face that hasn´t really gotten any softer in the years since. An unhappy woman. Mooch was daddy´s girl. (She said she sat on his lap for one year´s Olympics games - she´d have been 21.)

Bro has had three blonde white wives.

Draw your own conclusions.

The liaison with Barry Soetero yielded a cushy life for both her and her mother. She was not dragged into anything.

Re the girls´ boredom, they are always bored. But on this trip it had been announced that the guided "tours" of all but the Forbidden City would be conducted in Chinese.

I can´t imagine anything more desolate than the Great Wall with none of the usual people there. That is much of the fun. That and the really cheesy tourist shops at the entry point at Badaling, the access nearest to Beijing. (Just read that they drove a bit further to Mutianyu, an access to a part of the Wall that is less crowded - even without its being cleared for Mooch & Co.)

Michelle: "They said I wasn´t good enough."
GW (?): "No Michelle, you weren´t good enough. But we took you anyway."

I wonder what the spawn´s grades are at Sidwell Friends? With the superb - educational exposure I´ll call it - of the parents, but seemingly mediocre intellects, I suspect the girl´s attitudes suggest equally limited intellectual accomplishment.

Maybe she is referring to the "no show" job she had when he was in the Senate. A job that was never filled or replaced when he was elected President. AND, it must be hard taking all the vacations and deciding which relatives and friends who will tag along on our dime. Maybe she is lobbying for a pension for 1st ladies (so she can quit her present position as "beard" when he leaves office?)

Hagel quietly notifies Congress
of transfer of 6 Gitmo detainees

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel quietly notified Congress last week that the military is set to transfer six Guantanamo Bay prisoners to Uruguay as soon as next month, The New York Times revealed Wednesday. The deal has been waiting for Mr. Hagel’s approval since March, but stalled after the Obama administration received a wave of backlash for releasing five Taliban detainees to Qatar in exchange for the release Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. The administration did not give Congress 30-days notice in that deal, but argued it was still legal because any delay could have risked Sgt. Bergdahl’s life. Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Having scaled the heights of Earth with the world´s tallest tower, the United Arab Emirates is now aiming for the stars, or just a little bit closer, with an ambitions trip to Mars. The energy-rich country on the eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula announced plans Wednesday to send the first unmanned Arab spaceship to Mars in 2021. The ruler of the UAE´s emirate of Dubai, Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, said the mission will prove the Arab world is still capable of delivering scientific contributions to humanity, despite the many conflicts across the Middle East.

California Death Penalty
Unconstitutional, Federal Judge Says

A federal judge in Southern California ruled Wednesday that California’s death penalty was unconstitutional. The “dysfunctional administration of California’s death penalty system,” wrote Judge Cormac J. Carney of United States District Court, has led to “inordinate and unpredictable” delays in the execution of inmates. The delays, the judge wrote, means that sentences are carried out against only “a trivial few of those sentenced to death.” In essence, he wrote, sentences by juries have been transformed to “life in prison, with the remote possibility of death.” In making his ruling, Judge Carney vacated the death sentence of

A minor actress from Texas was sentenced Wednesday to 18 years in prison for sending ricin-tainted letters to President Obama, former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and the head of his gun-control group. Shannon Guess Richardson, 36, was also ordered to pay $367,000 restitution as part of a plea bargain for pleading guilty in December to one count of developing, producing, possessing and transferring a biological agent for use as a weapon. She bought the materials — castor bean seeds and lye — online. The FBI arrested her in June 2013 after she was indicted by a federal grand jury.

Israel agreed Wednesday to halt its airstrikes on Gaza for five hours in order to allow humanitarian aid, following a request from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency. The military said in a statement Wednesday that it would hold its fire for five hours starting at 10:00 a.m. local time on Thursday. It warns however that it will retaliate "firmly and decisively" if Hamas or other militant groups launch attacks on Israel during that time. The cease-fire request came from U.N. Special Coordinator for the Middle East Robert Serry, Haaretz reports. After news of the cease-fire broke, Israel’s “Iron Dome” missile defense system continued to

Washington - The White House is defying a congressional subpoena by keeping a top political aide to President Barack Obama from testifying at a hearing Wednesday. The White House is arguing that Obama adviser David Simas is immune from subpoena by the House Oversight Committee in its investigation into the political office that he directs. White House counsel Neil Eggleston says in a letter to Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa that the Simas subpoena threatens the constitutional separation of powers. White House lawyers spent an hour and 15 minutes Tuesday briefing the committee´s staff behind closed doors on the political office´s

Almost three dozen Disney theme park workers have been arrested for alleged kiddie-sex crimes since 2006, according to a broadcast report. So far, 32 of those busted have been convicted and the other cases are pending. Two cases of child porn allegedly happened on Disney property. Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler said these scary arrests represent only a tiny fraction of the company’s workforce. “Providing a safe environment for children and families is a

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security.
