Theory: Maybe Black Toddlers Are Suspended
From Preschool More Because of Racism

Atlantic Wire, by Philip Bump

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 3/21/2014 3:17:57 PM

In 2011, over 8,000 kids were suspended from preschool — preschool! — in America. More than half were black, despite comprising less than half of the student population. Sure, we can entertain a lot of theories why this is the case, but I am going to go with this one: America has a problem with racism. The odds are probably better than even that you will be annoyed by that. Which is fine. I accept that response. And there are a lot of possibilities that could explain how this bit of data is an aberration. As the Associated Press reports, the

Comments:
Well of course it is. s/o Could it be because they are the worse behaved? Much like the stats showing that even though blacks represent a much smaller segment of society they commit the most crimes. So who is to blame??

It would be interesting to look at suspension rates by race of the teacher...
Preschool teachers have to maintain tight control over the little ones, for the safety of their students.
It is common to see little kids on a field trip roped together, for their own safety.
If a little one comes from a home where no baby daddy is present and where baby momma exerts no discipline, that child will not be able to cope with pre school or any level of school....

I know a teacher who has discipline problems with black kids because they openly tell the teacher their parents told them they do not have to do what the white teacher tells them to do. But that´s not racist since the teacher is just a cracker.

So, in a way, the author of this article is right.

Do a new study looking only at the kids, regardless of race, who live in a single parent home where lack of good parenting and discipline exist. I would suggest that you´d see no disparity in the results where the writer could make the case he makes in this article.

73% of African American births in this country are to single parent homes. I.E no father. No father - no father figure. No discipline. They have lowered the expectations for civil behavior let alone academic standards. So you have behavioral problems.

So the logical answer to all of this is I am a racist.

Perhaps being fatherless has something to do with it. There is nothing like a Dad who cares to keep a young man on a straight path.

I find this information incredibly sad. From the CDC, 2011 data:

72.3 percent of non-Hispanic blacks are now born out-of-wedlock.

Theory: Maybe pigs fly upside down in the Southern Hemisphere.

Fact: Kids entering preschool will behave like they did before entering preschool.

Hillary may be a B***** but she was right, it does take a village. The preschool teachers are only a fraction of the child´s world.

Ultimately it is parents, relatives, and the neighborhood that determines behavior.

Sadly, many grow up not only without a father, but a mother who is incapable of nurturing. Head Start has to teach these kids potty training, how to use a fork, how to hold a crayon, how to listen to a book being read to them.
Little kids like this know very little, they are in hyper-survival mode. Self centered from being all but ignored since infancy. They have learned that the sqeaky wheel gets the oil.

Well Philip, here´s the more likely situation, which you haven´t even considered.

Society has set certain expectations and when someone doesn´t meet those expectations they are censured in some way.

Blacks from broken families have been stoked with bitterness by the liberals and tell their kids that they don´t have to put up with anything "the man" tells them. But school requires that kids settle down and listen. ANYONE that doesn´t is reprimanded. White parents reinforce the lesson and tell their kids to listen to their teachers. Blacks parent get angry and fight with the school. The school backs off and the Black kids never learn the vital lesson of how to behave in a school setting. Year by year it builds until the rebellious Black kids, encouraged by parents and tolerated by the system, go to far and get suspended.

As to jobs, bosses have rules for showing up on time, how you dress, how you interact with customers and fellow employees, etc. If you are not willing to meet expectations (listen to the man), you get fired and once you are fired several times, it follows you around and you won´t be hired.

Further, there is a reason for all these "rules" and expectations. They WORK! As long as Blacks want to stand outside of society, they are going to have problems.

And it has nothing to do with their skin color.

and maybe the majority of players in the NBA are Black, because of racism. and maybe Obama´s policies are horrendous, because of Racism. Why, in fact, skin color is the determining factor in everything in life.
What other reason can there be ? Is there any possibility that there is usually ANOTHER reason ?

Will a child growing up in a single parent household be as well behaved as a child being raised in a stable two parent household? Black or white.

We know the answer but don´t say it for being accused of being a racist.

Not saying whites aren´t headed to the same high single parent households with the leftist unrelenting assault on the family.

Let´s judge the kids by their behavior while blindfolded.

Shouldn´t they be expelled by behavior like the cute little blonde hellion living in my nice neighborhood ?

It´s not just toddlers, they don´t get better in high school or even as seniors.

Why not go back to segregated schools with all black teachers for black kids and white teachers for white kids and see how that works on grades and how many get expelled ?
