MH370 flew as low as 1,500m

As the search for the missing flight MH370 enters its 10th day with few clues as to its whereabouts, the New Straits Times said today the Boeing 777-200ER dropped 5,000 feet (1,500m) to evade commercial radar detection. In an exclusive story, the government-backed paper said investigators analysing MH370’s flight data revealed that the 200-tonne, fully laden twinjet descended 1,500m or even lower to evade commercial (secondary) radar coverage after it turned back from its flight path en route to Beijing. (Snip) Investigators poring over MH370’s flight data had said the plane had flown low and used “terrain masking” as it

I´m not sure that one can buy whatever the Malaysian government has to say, especially since they are in court with Al Gore currently over government policy through their judiciary. Sound familiar? What ever is going down, whoever had control in the cockpit had their actions timed perfectly, which makes this premeditated. Whether hijacking or terrorism, well planed & executed.

Staff of the New Straits Times needs some remedial English. There’s a world of difference between “flying as low as 1500 meters (above ground level)” and “descending 1500 meters” (from a normal cruising altitude of about 32,000 feet (~9750 meters) to an altitude of about 27,000 feet (~8250 meters)).

Likewise between “dropping 5,000 feet” (from one flight level to another) and “dropping to (an absolute altitude of) 5,000 feet.”

In contrast, OP’s remarks are spot-on, and very weil taken indeed. Although hijacking and terrorism are by no means mutually exclusive.

#4, I agree with all but your final point. That pilot meticulously followed a stealth flight plan. He clearly had a much bigger outcome in mind than simply landing it just anywhere. I believe he had a pre-specified landing site he was heading for and confederates awaiting his arrival there. And it wouldn´t be a place like Thailand or Malaysia where the ride would end and likely result in capture. No, I´m guessing it would be a country that would not interrupt the plan, and furthermore, where "the package" was available and made ready for pickup and delivery to its final destination.

They´re likely preparing the package and the plane in some hangar right now.

If we don´t find that plane soon, it´s going to find us.

Waco and Oklahoma bombing anniversity is April 19th. How about an EMP nuke detonation at 45,000 feet over NYC or DC? It would shut down everything that runs on electricity or electronics (better know as the world) from Maine to Florida to the east as far as Chicago.

Our world as we know it will have come to an end. Just think if Wall Street, NYC and DC completely stopped and nothing worked. We would be screwed.

Where can you land a 777 without other people noticing?

If the plane were to every fly again, won´t it try to phone home & alert Boeing?

Wouldn´t it need lots of fuel & maintenance to ever fly again?

You could fly the plane into Pakistan. They "forgot" to tell us about Bin Laden for how many years?

The 777 is in fine shape. All it needs is removal of some dead bodies, a paint job and deactivation of the mechanism that does the pinging. Add aviation fuel and they are ready to go. Go where, and do what, are now the questions we need to ask.

If there is a package, it will be delivered to Israel or the USA. South Korea also possible. Early on, I suspected the plane was crashed into the Indian ocean. Now I believe it landed on its wheels....without the passengers or crew.

Thi is a recently refurbished plane with everything in order. You can´t get such items everywhere so you have to steal them.

Now the uses to which this plane could be put simultaneously:

(1) Delivery vehicle for wealthy Chinese to be held by kidnappers for millions in ransom

(2) Acquisition of computer systems specialists for use by terrorist organization at lower than market rates.

(3) Delivery of airplane itself to party needing long range delivery mechanism ~ e.g. atom bombs to Kazan (EMP blast possible ~ wipes out Russia´s military and civilian aircraft industry in one blast) ~ Ukraine out of range!

(4) Delivery of airplane to some other customer in Africa needing a well matained aircraft. This is a recurring theme there ~ you can´t get these things fixed so you fly them til the wings fall off, which they do.

How about if the plane went to a remote former Soviet air base in Kyrgyzstan. They are an Islamist country.
Kyrgyzstan has not developed its air capability; although a number of former Soviet air bases remain available. Long runways, refueling capabilities.

Just a comment on Straits Times ~ I´ve read it frequently ~ for those concerned with the quality of the English, there might be someone there who learned English as a first language, but probably not.

The text is typical of ESL ways of doing things, and tends to drift into Chinglish if the editor is at lunch!

Just slow down and think about questionable parts ~ the real stuff is there but the number, case and gender aren´t ~ and none of that matters. In this piece they said it dropped fast (some numbers) and flew low (some similar numbers)

The numbers are irrelevant unless you are talking price of gold, price of commodities, price of various other things produced or traded in great quantities.

One plane ~ one stolen plane ~ that´s beneath the dignity of concern!

A conspiracy to steal the plane, land it somewhere secret, and refit it for use as a "terrorism device" of some sort would require a high level of planning, coordination and technical ability that would make 9/11 look simple.

I question whether it would even be possible to turn off all the embedded communications systems in the plane and have it still be flyable. You´d have to have people who know every single technical detail about a Boeing 777, and I doubt there are many of those folks running around the jihadi cocktail circuit.

My guess is that it was a pilot suicide, though the length of the flight is admittedly problematic.

Regarding the possibility that this was pilot suicide, I believe that can pretty well be eliminated. If you´re going to end it all or make a big jihadi statement, are you going to go cruising around on a complex flight plan for 7 hours before you make your move?

Like..."Allahu Akbar here?...no, wait a minute, maybe there?...no, not yet...oh wait, is anybody going to even notice I did this for Allah?...OK, I´ll go to the next waypoint in the Indian Ocean before I decide..."

1. Malaysia is now 98% Islamist
2. The plane may be in Iran being fitted with a nuclear bomb.
3.Iran built a new runway several weeks go and the inspectors were NOT allowed to go anywhere near it.
4.They were probably waiting for the cement to dry and MH370 to be hijacked and flown to Iran.

It seems unlikely to me that the plane was stolen to use to attack the US, China, Russia or Israel. However, unlikely is not impossible. I expect air defenses around the world to be ever more vigilant for quite a while. I also expect Malaysian Airlines to go out of business. Whatever you say, the response of the airline and the government there has been at best amateur.

And now there is another theory beginning to float around. I just read this on the AT site. What if the A/C was hijacked by the aircrew and was headed for one the -stans to land. In order to do that, it would have had to cross some China airspace. And the Chinese picked it up on radar. And it would completely unidentified (it pertinent systems were shut down). Being who and what they are, the Chinese Air Force shot the plane down and now the government of China will NOT admit to doing this since it would cause "loss of face" of which the Chinese are so proud of.

Now don´t yell at me. It´s not my theory. Go to the AT site and you can read it for yourself. It´s just another monkey wrench thrown into the entire mess.

Interesting how my first predictions about the incident seem to be in the forefront in the news now. I predicted that the pilot or copilot were most likely behind the disappearance and now the investigation is centering on the pilot. It turns out the pilot´s wife and children left him the day before the plane took off and he also had some radical political views. Like the old saying goes, never, ever, trust a Muslim. And why have a plane where you can turn off the locator manually? This site still has some serious problems with something blocking

I have two thoughts on this whole thing. One is it could be a major industrial theft to steal technology and the plane to reverse engineer and start manufacturing a Russian or Chinese model 777. Second it could be step one in a possible terrorist attack. They could be loading that thing with as much explosives as it can carry or even with biological agents of a nuclear weapon and getting it ready for an attack. Either way it doesn´t look good.

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
