Bill Maher: God a ‘psychotic mass
murderer’ who ‘drowns babies’

Washington Times (D.C.), by Kellan Howell

Late night comedian Bill Maher told his HBO “Real Time” audience on Friday that God was a “psychotic mass murderer.” He made the comments during a conversation on the biblical story of Noah and the upcoming Hollywood version of it that’s about to hit the big screen. “But the thing that’s really disturbing about Noah isn’t the silly, it’s that it’s immoral. It’s about a psychotic mass murderer who gets away with it, and his name is God,” Mr. Maher said, adding, “What kind of tyrant punishes everyone just to get back at the few he’s mad at? I mean, besides

Yet the fact that the Godless Humanist Social Progressive/Liberals in both parties are adamant in their unwavering determination to annually sacrifice 1,500,000 infants on the altar of Infanticide in tribute to their Dark Lord Satan. That is a Truth they seek to deflect.

Maher isn´t an atheist. It´s obvious that he DOES believe in God, and that he´s terrified of Him. What other explanation is there for this relentless psychotic venom on Maher´s part?

To get back the few he´s mad at?

If Maher knew the story, he´d know the flood was God´s way of hitting the reset when the whole world had fallen into corruption, idolatry, and sin -- and Noah and his family were preserved as the few who were still devoted to doing God´s will.

If all of what Maher thinks he knows about the Bible and biblical faith is as distorted and incoherent as this, is it any wonder he´s so derisive toward it?

Come on, folks.

It´s clear that the ´church´ promoted a narrative wherein the populace was given the option of supporting the church hierarchy and contributing to the church´s wealth and power or ´going to hell´.

I spent many years in the Catholic system of education but the church ´corporation´ sees to it´s own self interest first.... as all corporations do.

This notion, however radical, does not prevent anyone from having their own intimate relationship with the God of their choice.

Maher is a bitter little man with a small mind. He cannot understand the whole picture nor can he understand that it wasn´t a punishment, per se. He is looking at the story as someone who can only comprehend soundbites. The ultimate shallow-thinking "lo-fo".

Btw, I think #5 is upset with the Universal Church and how it has been abused off and on throughout history by some corrupt men using religion to manipulate the masses. I am not putting down any specific religion. I am technically a Catholic. But unlike some, I don´t think any one religion has the only answer. Maybe Protestants or Baptists have it right. Maybe some other group is closer to the truth. I don´t know. I only know that God never changes, but man´s religions do. The ultimate authority is God--not man made constructs that can be fallible.

Reply #20 is obviously an old post of mine that appeared when I logged on. Anyway... in response to this topic:

I tend to agree with Post #1. There are many religions and gods I do not believe in, and a few whose religious tenetss are completely counter to my own. When I read about them, I am never brought to a point of anger or the type of vitriol that Maher spews on a regular basis when discussing God and Christianity.

Nobody gives DISbelief that much attention unless it infringes upon, or causes damage to, one´s safety or family. I pray he finds his way to the Father.

Maher is a typical Marxist democrat idot who knows nothing of God.

God did not destroy everyone just because He was mad at a few of them, He was mad at all of them for they had become an abomination.

However, He did give their souls a second chance to get their abominations forgiven when He sent Jesus back in His spiritual body to their souls during the three days after He was crucified while His flesh body lay in the sepulchre.

This world is not eternal. The young and the old die in this world for all kinds of reasons. The next life is eternal. The innocent and the forgiven spend eternity with God. Those who reject God spend their eternity separated from Him.

Consider that God did not destroy the earth in a fit of rage. Noah preached to change the world (2 Peter 2:4-9). God gave mankind 120 years to change. (Genesis 6:3). They were offered salvation. They did not have to die.

We have the Bible - the inspired Word of God. We, like the people before the flood, are being given the opportunity for salvation.

Man, not God, was responsible for the deaths that occurred in the flood as a result of their sins. Innocent children died because their parents did not believe God and obey. Nonetheless, the innocent children will have eternal life with God in heaven despite the evil of their parents.

All those innocent babies that men have "legally" killed by abortion in the United States of America, and elsewhere, will spend eternity with their Creator.

Sinners have the opportunity to repent and obey the gospel of Christ if they want to spend eternity in heaven. That is what our long-suffering God wants for all of us. If not, He would not have sent Christ to redeem us, and He would have destroyed this evil world again long before now. However, He warns now, as He did then, that destruction of this world is a certainty when the day He has appointed comes. The choice of where we spend eternity is ours.

#28 -- In fairness, I´ve always thought highly of Blue around here. I just don´t get the swift jump from a flap about a biblical movie for which Hollywood has made major changes to the story, directly to making broad-stroked derisive statements about the Catholic Church, taking some negative personal experiences and projecting them onto the entire Church.

That´s the typical pattern of trolls, and regardless of who follows that pattern, it seems out of place here.

Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin

Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
