Ted Cruz not so popular back home
Washington Post, by Jennifer Rubin

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 3/15/2014 12:04:47 PM

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) may be popular among hard-line conservatives nationally, but back home he’s in some hot water. According to an Emerson College poll, his favorability is underwater, by a margin of 43 to 48 percent. Moreover, his favorable/unfavorable rating with women is 39 to 50 percent. I asked the poll director for further detail and found: Republicans: 74 percent favorable, 18 percent unfavorable ~Democrats: 8 percent favorable, 82 percent unfavorable ~Independents: 38 percent favorable, 50 percent unfavorable

I actually started to read the article then I saw who wrote it. I don´t waste my time on her and her negative writings about conservatives.

It is good to see she has fixed her hair and ditched the dark pancake makeup...it looked awful with her fishbelly-white neck.

Seems like there is a lot of axe-grinding here.

I was going to dis the usual messenger-shooting Rubin bashers until I checked the above-noted photo. Point taken, it makes Cruz look like Hosni Mubarak.

Still, Cruz will eventually need to get reelected - and Texas voters are probably far, far closer to the political center than is the typical True-Conservative Cruz supporter.

#5 - Emerson College - 4 year liberal arts college located in Boston, where you can get a degree in communications and the performance arts (good pairing). Conservative professors in this area are way outnumbered by liberals, so I´d be interested in knowing the questions asked by pollsters.

Jennifer Rubin is not a conservative.

I was wondering when Mrs. Rubin was going to show up with a riveting story about how everyone hates Senator Cruz. She also told us Mitt Romney was the most electable guy ever, and had polls to prove that as well. We all know how that turned out for her.

Of the bunch who ran for the GOP nomination, Mitt probably was the most electable. With the others I think that we would have lost Montana.

Still, I did a google on Rubin and her position on Amnesty - turns out she´s for it. So bash away - she´s dead to me.

It has officially begun: the trash-Cruz campaign to undermine his chances in a presidential race. Here in TX he has a variety of support from a variety of people, even those who had never given him a second look after the election. But don´t confuse Jen with the facts --- she lives up there in her golden parrot cage. Her piece is a lot like a TX steer - a point here and there, a lot of bull in-between.

Ted Cruz told us exactly what he would do when elected, and he is doing what he said he would do. The establishment candidate (Dewhurst) said everything the DC establishment {like Rubin} wanted him to say.

Of course Cruz is enormously popular in Texas. These numbers illustrate it. But, there was quite a bit of Texas angst at Cruz´s very public and very frequent refusals to endorse his fellow senator, John Cornyn, for reelection. That´s pretty unheard of among same-party fellow senators and a lot of Texans, including me, didn´t understand his discourtesy. As indicated by his recent primary win, Senator Cornyn is popular in Texas, too.

All one needs to know about these lying pigs is their approach to Watergate versus any Democrat scandal. They ran Nixon out and tried to run Reagan.

They are the worst kind of ideologues and everything they present gores through a prism of rabid liberal ideology. They won´t like Ted Cruz at all and will continue to dribble this slop out in league with their evil colleagues. One of the first liberal modes of attack is death by a thousand cuts. Balz continues, the Texas GOP that elected George Bush gov. 20 yrs. ago is gone. Re: John Cornyn, he only won 59% of GOP votes in this primary despite running virtually unopposed, and spending millions. 41% of GOP votes went elsewhere.

FTA: “In other words, he’s a highly concentrated form of the dilemma facing Republicans. The more he appeals to the base, the less appeal he has to an electoral majority. That’s a problem for him if he seeks the presidential nomination.”

Ah, here we go again, the supposition that a candidate that actually appeals to the Republican conservative base can never achieve an electoral majority. Therefore, in order to win elections GOP candidates must mimic the Dim agenda. Just like Trent Lott, Juan McPain, and Mitt Romney. That worked out well.

The real dilemma facing the Republicans is the conservative base that for decades they took for granted are no longer content to give our time, talent, treasure, and votes on the “hope” that the “moderates” in the Cartel Party will “change” the juggernaut of giant government. If the GOP really believed the BS they’ve been shoveling on the base they would have embraced the Tea Party movement and used its momentum. Instead they fight against it with more vigor and vitriol than they use against the party they are supposed to oppose. The GOP may like to win, but they don’t want to govern.

Here’s a novel idea. Let’s give true conservativism a chance with a platform focused on the repeal of Obamacare, true fiscal restraint, and a robust defense of the Bill of Rights. This will give the establishment enablers an opportunity to model for us their sage advice to support the party nominee. They can wear the clothespin for once.

Time will tell, and my bet is on Senator Cruz.

Ted Cruz endorses John Cornyn

By Sean Sullivan

March 5 at 12:46 pm

He refused to endorse Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) during the primary, but once it was over, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) singled him out for congratulations.

"Congratulations to every Republican who won the primary last night. Three, in particular, deserve special mention," Cruz wrote Wednesday on Facebook, before mentioning Attorney General Greg Abbott (a candidate for governor), Cornyn, and George P. Bush (candidate for land commissioner).

"John is a friend, and a good man. He´s earned considerable respect in the Senate. We have not agreed on everything, but we have agreed on the vast majority of issues. Together, we´re a strong and effective team for Texas," Cruz wrote, later adding that he is "proud" to endorse Cornyn.

In 2012 Cruz won with 4.5 million votes (56.4%) to Sadler´s (democrap)3.2 million (40.6%). Two minor candidates garnered the remaining 3% of the vote. Cruz received 40% of the Hispanic vote.
I believe that´s the only poll that matters.

The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. John McCain, an immigration hawk. Who knew? Mr. McCain, the highest-profile Republican of the U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that came up with amnesty as the solution to the immigration crisis — and it truly is a crisis — is finally taking a hard line against President Obama for his encouraging the tidal wave of illegal aliens swamping the southwestern border. “There has to be a halt to this,” Mr. McCain thundered Sunday on CNN. “That’s what we want, and the best way to do that is for planeloads of these young people to be returning to their country of origin

Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use

It had to come sometime, and it came in one very bad week for the Democrats: that the many big problems with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally grew too great for the press to ignore. Obama in his own different way is heading towards Nixon-like levels of weirdness, as, beaten down by the failures regarding his ventures, he appears to have quit his own job. A.B. Stoddard of the Hill says in effect he has stopped being president and chooses to live in a world of his own, shutting out the problems that have become overwhelming, giving dinners where he talks

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
