John Kerry warns Vladimir Putin
on Ukraine: ´This is not Rocky IV´

Washington Examiner [DC], by Paul Bedard

Secretary of State John Kerry today warned Russian President Vladimir Putin to stay clear of the political turmoil in Ukraine, adding that the U.S. doesn´t view the international tussle over the democratic movement in Kiev as a continuation of the Cold War. “We do not believe this should be an East-West, Russia-United States. This is not ‘Rocky IV´, believe me. We don´t see it that way,” Kerry said in a reference to the popular film in which Sylvester Stallone’s character is pitted against a Soviet bully. Appearing on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Kerry urged Putin to be “very careful” as he plots

Putin isn´t going to take orders from idiots like Obama and Kerry. He´s not going to make a big public show out of it,that´s not the KGB way of doing things. Instead he´ll just move chess pieces around in secret.

Obama and the left are really feeling their oats these days because they´re getting bullying victories here and there.Republicans have rolled over for it but that doesn´t mean others around the world will.

I don´t think Merkel,to name one likes Obama one bit.The NSA spying has created all kinds of distrust towards this country to the extent they´re considering underwater cables for communication privacy.Ducking NSA spying is an emerging growth industry.

Allies can´t figure out why we´re spying on them when they pose no threat. This is Richard Nixon´s paranoia on steroids.

Putin doesn´t have a beef with America in general but he disdains Obama. He´d rather see a strong nationalist president in this country.

I´m pretty sure John Kerry practices the words and facial expressions in front of his mirror before publicly pontificating. The phrases are carefully polished and different word emphases tried out:

"THIS is not Rocky IV", "This is NOT Rocky IV", "This is not ROCKY IV".

Suggest readers watch this Monday´s reshowing of Top Gear on BBC America. Should air at 7:30 pm Eastern time. Show features the 3 British hosts driving from Yalta to Chernobyl on a 750 mile challenge across the Ukraine in 2013. Russia´s historic role in the eastern half of is made very clear while the Ukraine´s Soviet like low living standards are on full display. The Ukraine´s long border and flat terrain make it ideal for Russian tanks. Obama and Kerry should be careful in issuing threats of war about a country nearly 5,000 miles from Washington, DC.

John Kerry and Chuck Hagel have no military because they have never been for one, and have done everything they could to destroy the military.

#31 is correct.

I have done business in Ukraine for a decade. There is a huge amount of very fertile farmland and a large aerospace and fundamental metals industrial base in Ukraine that Putin wants control of. He and his criminal oligarch minions have been stopping the drilling in Ukraine for oil and more important in the short run, natural gas, for about 8 years that I know of with backroom deals, obstruction and bribes. Ukraine´s economy has been systematically controlled and limited from Moscow, with the unintentional assistance of a political class who are almost entirely made up of pure thieves and thugs.

Natural gas has been the lever that Putin is using to both bankrupt Ukraine and control it, along with parts of Europe. He raises the prices and crushes the Ukraine economy, and the debt gives him control.

Kerry and Obama are foolish children playing checkers, while Putin is the KGB thug playing chess. I fear for my friends in Ukraine. The only possible bright spot now is two western oil giants trying to drill for oil and gas in Ukraine. This could jam Putin´s NG lever, but I fear that naked force will be used, as it was in Georgia - and the world did NOTHING at all.

I pray that new leaders arise in Ukraine who have the national interest ahead of their personal gain, but this may be a vain hope.

Proponents of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) insist that the law will extend health insurance to millions, expand access to health care, and improve Americans’ overall health. But, as the New York Times recently reported, at least 20 percent of the new enrollees have not paid their premiums. They therefore do not really have insurance. But even for those enrollees paying premiums, having health insurance is not the same thing as getting good health care, or any health care. In fact, it doesn’t matter how many Americans obtain insurance under the ACA. Most will have difficulty finding a physician. Many Americans

A few years ago, the corruption convictions of several prominent plaintiffs´ lawyers put a spotlight on dishonesty in American civil courts. Now the sleaze has burst back into the news with cases involving Chevron and Dole Food Co., this time with an international twist. Last month, a federal court in Manhattan found that a U.S. plaintiffs´ lawyer had masterminded a multibillion dollar fraud and extortion scheme against Chevron in Ecuador. Three days later, a California appellate court affirmed the dismissal of a lawsuit against Dole as a "fraud on the court" perpetrated by U.S. and Nicaraguan plaintiffs´ lawyers. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast
