Toobin Calls Clarence Thomas ‘Disgraceful,’
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Hails ‘Excellent Article’

NewsBusters, by Brent Baker

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/25/2014 9:45:35 PM

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer brought Jeffrey Toobin aboard Monday’s The Situation Room to expound on his New Yorker magazine blog, “Clarence Thomas’s Disgraceful Silence,” posted on Friday. After quoting how Toobin derided Thomas as an “embarrassing” justice, Blitzer ended the segment by endorsing Toobin’s screed denigrating Thomas, trumpeting: “It’s an excellent article in the new issue of The New Yorker.” Blitzer set up the February 24 interview on the 5 PM EST show: “It’s now been eight years since Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has asked a question during the Supreme Court’s oral arguments.

Comments:
Sorry, Toobin and Blitzer are disgraceful. No wonder CNN´s ratings are in the tank. I look forward to Toobin´s next article on 0bama describing his lack of respect for the American people and his ludicrous behavior like he did Justice Thomas. s/o

Somethings up. Remember during the Republican Presidential debate when Georgie Stepsinalotofpoop ask the candidates about banning contraception? All of them were dumbfounded since the idea seemed to come out of thin air. Then came Sandra Fluke and the war on women which demanded of all things, ta da, free contraception.

Just recently Justice Thomas has been called an Uncle Tom, his marriage to a white woman has been brought up, and now this complaint hits the presses.

I detect that the Alinskys are isolating a target.

Really, there just is no pleasing these people. It´s too bad more people don´t follow Justice Thomas´ lead. Be who you are and quit worrying about what other people think.

Let´s put the character of these two men up for comparison and then see whose words, however few or many, carry more weight.

I agree completely with Mr Justice Thomas. The lawyers prepare their briefs and their arguments. They should be given the chance to put their arguments forward --- not be sidetracked by Supreme Court justices that want to show off.

I understand that there will be points upon which some justices occasionally want clarification but most of their questions make little useful contribution and are directed at the reporters and their constituencies.

"Imagine, for a moment, if all nine Justices behaved as Thomas does on the bench." Now here is a man, Toobin, widely believed to be brilliant and who certainly thinks he´s brilliant that is using an argument I realized was BS in Kindergarten when teachers tried to use it on me. I said, "so, what if everyone decided to be a Fireman? does that mean it is bad to be a Fireman?"

The Thomas case is Toobin´s generation´s Hiss case. They lost trying to defend the indefensible and they will never get over it.

‘Disgraceful?’ CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, aided and abetted by CNN socialist suck-up Wolf Blitzer, makes (as usual) a horse’s rear of himself by taking issue with the manner in which Justice Clarence Thomas prefers to express himself.

My money’s on Toobin and Blitzer saying pro-choice when what they mean is baby killing.

Whether spoken or written, it’s the words that count; not the means by which they’re conveyed.

It’s Toobin and his socialist sidekick Blitzer who personify ‘disgraceful.’

Lefist maggots like Toobin tried to take him down during his confirmation and have been hopping mad at him ever since. I´ve got news for Toobin and that other mental midget Blitzer. The Left´s obsession with Justice Thomas qualifies as a serious mental health problem. My leftist friends despise him. This is a man who should be presented as all that is wonderful about this country. Talk about pulling oneself up from poverty, living in a shack with a dirt floor and often not enough food. A movie should be made about this man. But, can you imagine if Thomas did ask questions? Everytime he said something the press, the ABA, or whatever crackpot hateful leftist group you can think of would take the opportunity comment, analyze and humiliate this good man even more. I thank Clarence Thomas for starting me on the journey to becoming a conservative. When his hearings began I was a solid Democrat. By the end of his hearing I realized that the Democrat party had not left behind its racist core beliefs. It was still the party of slavery, the KKK and, the party that tried to kill the civil rights reforms of the 1960s. Democrats get to vent that racist venom on conservative blacks. They are still the same creeps they were in the 1800s. And why Republicans, the party that was started as the anti-slavery party doesn´t point that out every single day is beyond me.

According to journalist Michael Isikoff, Toobin was caught “having absconded with large loads of classified and grand-jury related documents" from Walsh´s office.

Toobin wrote a book about his work in the Office of Independent Counsel. Walsh objected to his decision to do so, and Toobin went to court to vindicate his right to publish.

Walsh later wrote that he "could understand a young lawyer wanting to keep copies of his own work, but not copying material from the general files or the personal files of others.

Toobin is a longtime friend of Supreme Court justice Elena Kagan, having met her while the two were students at Harvard Law School. He has described Chief Justice John Roberts as "very, very conservative." Regarding Justice Clarence Thomas, Toobin has said that Thomas´ legal views were "highly unusual and extreme", called him "a nut," and said that he was "furious all the time."

In March 2009, Politico revealed that Toobin was a member of the private discussion group JournoList, where "several hundred left-leaning bloggers, political reporters, magazine writers, policy wonks and academics" "talked stories and compared notes."

These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Bill joined “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey at the Revlon Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall Thursday, joking of Spacey’s Machiavellian character, “When I was president people accused me of murder all the time, made a show of investigating. Spacey’s president for 15 minutes and he gets away with murder.” Spacey, who sang during the event with Sting, Stephen Stills and James Taylor, also showed off his Johnny Carson impression, taking a swipe at the coverage of Flight
