Employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) destroyed veterans’ medical files in a systematic attempt to eliminate backlogged veteran medical exam requests, a former VA employee told The Daily Caller. Audio of an internal VA meeting obtained by TheDC confirms that VA officials in Los Angeles intentionally canceled backlogged patient exam requests.“The committee was called System Redesign and the purpose of the meeting was to figure out ways to correct the department’s efficiency. And one of the issues at the time was the backlog,” Oliver Mitchell, a Marine veteran and former patient services assistant in the VA Greater Los

Maybe they can replace Obamacare, Medicare and Medicaid by putting us all into the efficient VA medical system!

This is what you get when the Government runs healthcare. Just realize that obamacare will be run by Government employees similar to those in the VA and those that run the Post Office. One more reason obamacare needs to be repealed and not fixed.

If the IRS can destroy political speech, NSA invades privacy and Obambi trash every word in the constitution, why can´t VA employees destroy medical records? We have a goobernment that is totally unaccountable for any and all its actions. We the People have tolerated, nay, enabled this behavior. IF several million of us marched on DC and started to hold them accountable, with real consequences, not lost elections´ things like this would never happen. At some point, we the People need to take action cause this goobernment never will.

This is the Obama way. Create a metric. When the metric causes you to look bad, don´t find a way to improve, simply lose the data. When someone speaks out that you haven´t improved and are improperly hiding your failure, fire the whistle blower.

Somebody ordered this action. A lowly clerk sitting in a gray cubicle, bored to tears, didn´t just start deleting files for a boredom reliever past time.

Somebody ordered the action.

Just like someone ordered the IRS to start harassing Conservatives.

Is there no penalty for bad behavior at the least, and possibly criminal behavior? No penalty?

The corruption in the Federal Government didn´t start with the Mulatto Communist, but he´s taken it to new heights and turned it into an art form.

Every Veteran should get copies of all their records. Use your Service Organization reps (VFW, PVA, state reps, etc.) as "ombudsmen"/advisors/advocates, plus be your own expert.
Be active. The "VA" exists as a "quid pro quo" for your military service and associated damages incurred to body or mind ("PTSD" e.g.). Never deal with "the system" on your own.
Use your Congress representative and Senators offices to intervene on your behalf. VA administrators fear "Congressionals´ (official inquiries about Veteran complaints).
Be polite and persistent.

FTA: "Mitchell tried to blow the whistle on the scheme and ended up being transferred out of his department and eventually losing his job."

The plaques at the entrance to the Washington, D.C. Headquarters of The Department of Veterans Affairs are inscribed with Abraham Lincoln´s immortal words from the Civil War---"To Care For Him Who Shall Have Borne The Battle And For His Widow And His Orphan." These solemn words became the Veterans Administration´s Motto in 1959, during General Eisenhower´s Administration.

How far our great Judeo-Christian Civilization has fallen since that time!

Yet "progressives" in their starry-eyed affection for government think it can efficiently and effectively provide cradle to grave support for Mr. & Mrs. Everyman. "Wake Up, America!"

My Dr orders something and I totally forget about getting the procedure now. Even simple travel voucher processing takes months to go through. I have a reimbursement for prescriptions that has been waiting processing for almost a year, and another disability claim that is counting down to three years in the system with no end in sight. Sad to say, I am one in LA caught in the madness. My agent Orange case (w/hardship rush) is now 2 years old, and all they have to do to approve it is look on their own website to see that my ship was Agent Orange qualified it, and I was on it when it did. I now have Diabetes type II, it is supposed to automatically qualified me for disability as of my initial claim date.

Due to the backlog of claims in LA, mine was sent to Wisconsin, and immediately asked for the information from me, rather than get it on their own because THEY HAVE THE RECORDS. D´oh! They then closed the case due to lack of information, and it is now no longer part of the back log. I contacted my Senator and received a response that they will get a response in 5-8 weeks. My hardship still exists, but there you go.

And most of the guys I meet are in worse shape than I, health wise and benefit wise.

I have been a VA patient for a few decades in San Diego, West Los Angeles, Palo Alto, and Las Vegas. I have been treated for ingrown toe nails to a cardiac bypass operation. I also am a diabetic and a stroke victim. Oh, did I mention severe arthritis? Skin cancer? Pancreatitus? Five stents? New teeth, eyeglasses, hearing aids, and a CPAP machine? Of course I had two combat infantry tours and was wounded twice, had the kapok scared out of me, and was robbed of my innocence and two years of my youth while others were going to Woodstock and San Francisco not to mention my long term health. While I was only a grunt, in the end the VA has treated me like the Prince of Wales. A promise given and kept in spades. And in spite of all the hardships and pain incurred because of my military service, I would do it again in a heart beat.

Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.

As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

Glen Campbell has been suffering from Alzheimer´s for over three years, but the Grammy-winning singer, 78, has recently moved into a facility, PEOPLE has confirmed. "He was moved to an Alzhemier´s facility last week," says a family friend. "I´m not sure what the permanent plan is for him yet. We´ll know more next week." Campbell and his fourth wife, Kim Woolen, decided to go public with the news because Campbell hoped to embark on a final farewell live tour. The couple wanted his

The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? But for a moment, Hillary Rodham Clinton, appearing recently before a friendly audience at a women’s forum in Manhattan, seemed flustered.(Snip)So…no definitive successes and some clear-cut failures. And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. In reality, this is a woman who is professionally defined almost entirely by two men in her life, both of whom happen to have

GOP presidential hopefuls are largely steering clear of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s fight with the federal government. The showdown, which left armed militia members and feds staring each other down last week, has captivated talk radio and cable news shows, turning Bundy into a conservative cause célèbre. Yet Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Mike Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor and 2008 presidential candidate, are the only big-name Republicans to have spoken out on the dispute so far. Tea Party favorite Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has been silent, and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) have also not
