Cancer, Obamacare Victim at
Center of Political Storm

Washington Free Beacon, by Adam Kredo

Original Article

Julie Boonstra, a cancer patient who was kicked of off her health plan due to Obamacare, lashed out at Rep. Gary Peters (D., Mich.) on Saturday after lawyers for his campaign demanded that Michigan broadcasters cease airing ads featuring her story. Boonstra, a Michigan resident, was diagnosed with leukemia five years ago. She was recently kicked off of her healthcare plan due to regulations passed as part of President Barack Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which Peters voted in favor of. After relating her story publicly in an ad produced by the advocacy group Americans for Prosperity (AFP), Peters dispatched

The letter Peters´ people sent sounds like a severe threat. The stations do what Peters wants or they will not be re licensed.
No wonder they want to take over the news rooms and monitor reporters.

FTA: "“For the sake of both FCC licensing requirements and the public interest, your station should immediately require AFP to provide the factual documentation for its claims if you are going to continue airing this advertising,” read the letter from Peters’ lawyers."

Wow, truth in advertising? I wish we could apply that across the board, a democrat would never win again.

The #WaronWomen meme seems applicable. But I guess the media and the Dems (but I repeat myself) only use it on Republicans who say stupid things. Todd Akin said something monumentally stupid, but as far as I know, he didn´t personally attack a woman with cancer.

This crap has got to stop. The fact that an elected representative feels that it is ok to call a citizen a liar and threaten to sic the FCC on a television station just shows how emboldened these people have become. The more these people try this stuff and get and get by with it the more the will try it again. In my opinion he is not fit to hold any public office let alone be a U.S. Senator.

Assuming she is not the Cindy Sheehan of the Right, and for now there´s no reason to doubt her story, this is about as low as Democrats can go, seeing as how they´re already in the gutter looking up, as they protect this Medusa medical mess called Obamacare.

“For the sake of both FCC licensing requirements and the public interest, your station should immediately require AFP to provide the factual documentation for its claims if you are going to continue airing this advertising,” read the letter from Peters’ lawyers.

To these eyes, that is a direct threat: "Shut up or you lose your broadcast license." They tried this with Rush numerous times and with others constantly.

Ms. Boonstra is in a horrible place, assaulted on all sides by her body, her medical system and now her countrymen on the Left.

Have you no shame, Democrats?

I am very close to someone who has to deal with the FCC on a daily basis. This is no idle threat as that totalitarian agency is just aching for a chance to flex its muscle. I´m sure that the FCC was right at the door of the rats that made the commercial showing granny in a wheelchair being pushed over a cliff. This Nazi wannabe acts as if the new FCC recs are already in force . They are not yet and I shudder to think what will happen if they don´t back off- and it doesn´t involve hiring lawyers.

Whether or not Boonstra iS telling the truth, the democrat communist has a duty to meet with the lady
and determine personally her condition, and act on her behalf when he realizes she is authentic.

This pending tragedy is the first of thousands of approaching tragedies, suffering and deaths, all of it the result of our communist democrats scheming this frightening Soviet invasion of a medical commune, where all infirm citizens become prisoners of the Soviet state. God have mercy on the tortured victims.

#11, is right. There will be millions of stories like this one. How heartbreaking is it to know that your government has the power of life and death over you and you are helpless to change it. Julie Boonstra is not alone in this. Her story could be yours one day. Obamacare is a monstrous uncaring government program that was pushed down our throats for pure political reasons. The democrats will try and silence anyone who shines light on the realities caused by this law through intimidation. It is what they do best. Keep your chin up, Julie. These people are vicious ideologues who would rather see you dead than admit the reality of this abomination. They have no morals and will try and destroy you in any way they can. Freedom of speech is a powerful thing and they know it. Your story can make a difference. God bless you for speaking out and sincere prayers for your recovery.

Now who ever the GOP candidate is running against Peters needs $5 dollars from each of us. Lets bury Peters.

Last, let´s have the email and phone number of the TV Station. Find a way to support them. Its time to "Roll" on these fascist and commie tyrants.

Obamacare is the only federal law passed in my 54 years of life that has demonstrably and directly and measurably damaged my life and that of my family, though not nearly to the extent it has damaged Boonstra because I am fortunate enough that my melanoma was caught early under the old system and is now in years of remission. I would like to say to Peters and Obama what Mr. Harding says in the movie of One Flew Over the Cuckoo´s Nest. "Do me a favor and stay off my side."

One can only hope that the Sheik and his minions encounter the same kind of pain that they are inflicting on the citizens of this country.

I have come to three conclusions.

1. The Democrat Party has merged with the Communist Party. Their platforms are identical plank by plank. Eventual free Healthcare being one.
2. The so called "Progressives" have never created anything. We´d still be driving Oxcarts if it wasn´t for the hard nosed Capitalists responsible for the American Industrial Revolution.
3. Capitalists create and Progressives destroy. It´s the one thing they do exceptionally well. Their pipe dream of Universal Healthcare will destroy the greatest medical system the world has ever known.

Americans for Prosperity are doing this in many of the States where Dem Senators have said the lie "if you want your health plan, you can keep your health plan." I think this very public and vicious attack is to scare others from using this type of ad. Americans need to stand up to Dem bullies if they want their country back. We need to offer support and encouragement to those who speak out and are bullied.

The utter arrogance combined with the high level of stupidity of the Progressives is pushing America toward our own Kiev moments and eventually a Norther Ireland of 50 years ago.

Where else could this lead to with today´s GOP RINO leadership, and their patriotically challenged supporters?

As both parties progressively change America into something we no longer recognize, why should we continue acting like Americans and not fall into the hell-hole of other failed nations?

Americans for Prosperity should produce a follow up ad just as Peters requested, naming him and pointing out that he threatened to use the power of government to silence a constituent. They should demonstrate how zerocare was forced onto a cancer patient and how she had to research options to stay alive, not due to the disease, but do to the law. It should point out the truth that he is either ignorant of the facts or he’s a lying politician, but in any case, he isn’t fit to be a Senator if he is willing to use the force of government to shackle free speech.

The Republicans in the House should freeze the funds of the FCC until they show proof that they are not bending to the whims of any political party and will publicly state that they are not at the beck and call of any rat official. The Senate has ignored its Constitutional duties by rubber stamping anything zero wants and the House, while pretending to be opposition, has not used the legal remedies granted to them to stop him. They fear the wrath of voters that don’t support them more than they fear ours.

The left is claiming that her story has been "debunked." According to an article in the Huffington Post, her premium was cut nearly in half--from $1100/month to $571. With her out-of-pocket expenses capped, they are claiming that her total cost dropped by almost $3000/year. I don´t know the truth of this, and I would like to know.

#39, all you need to know about Gary Peters is that he is one of the slimiest politicians I´ve ever come across. His lies and smears nearly ruined a candidate that ran against him in 2010. He is a Democrat Bobble head and will say and do anything to win an election. Michigan doesn´t need another tyrant in the Senate. I would believe and stand with Julie Boonstra and the AFP before I believe anything that the Huffington Post or Gary Peters has to say.

I did a tiny bit of research, and discovered that Julie Boonstra told the Detroit News that her premium had dropped to $571. If her expenses are capped, it´s entirely possible that the HuffPo had the numbers correct. I oppose Obamacare as much as anyone, but I feel that we need to be absolutely factually correct in our opposition. We all know that Obamacare will hurt many, help some, and probably make no net difference to some.

By the way, I´m a Michigander myself. I know very little about Gary Peters, but I would vote for Terri Lynn Land over any Democrat.

Off the path a little, but how many of the 1000´s of ads for gold and silver have had to show proof that they are the beneficial investments they claim to be. I´ll bet the people that bought gold in the $1800 and are
now sitting in the $1200 would like to know that answer. The fact is, MANY of the ads we hear and see are littered with twisted words, con-jobs, filled with disclaimers, etc and often just outright lies. Note infomercials are ads. Is the Congressman pursuing ANYONE ELSE or just this poor lady, who in fact, should get her OWN LAWYER to sue him for defamation and blackmail ( coercion ). That is my opinion.

I hope the Republicans have a their troops of local activists on the scene documenting these stories and aggressively pursuing the people´s quest for the truth. Knocking on doors and writing letters are a part of it, and when Democrats try to silenced them, they need to step it up even more. Even if it means playing tough.
Fox News is doing a great job in airing these stories on cable but we have to do more and not rely on them ll the time.
The Peters of the Democrat party better be prepared for battle, because that´s what they will encounter. It´s the only way, ask Scott Walker.

Boy does this story ever hit home - Julie Boonstra is from my hometown, which I just left this past summer to move to Florida. I don´t know Julie, but the good guys are trying to help her. What Gary Peters is trying to do is unconscionable. I hope the good people of Michigan have enough sense to reject this toad of a human being. To try to get the FCC to take sides by silencing a private citizen´s right to speak or an agent of the private citizen is beyond contemptible. I hope that Americans for Prosperity sues the pants off of Peters. Shame on the Michigan Democrat Party if they encouraged him to take such an unconstitutional action. He can sue for defamation of character, but since when can he use the FCC to stop someone from their constitutional right of free speech?

When the politicians and Huffpo start attacking this woman you can bet that her dissatisfaction has legs, I just checked into it and her out of pocket costs are over $6K so that if she needs a treatment a month which lets say $1500.00 and she doesn´t have the kind of income that would allow her to pay the fee up front, what should she do, die quietly?

She is not splitting hairs about anything except that she was happy with what she had and is terribly unhappy with what Sheik Obama´s law brings her!

And of course the big LIE that if she liked her plan she could keep her plan, etc., etc. So no need if there is a conspiracy against the Sheik of Liarsville he has done all the discrediting that needs doing, himself.

Obama gets ticked off when he gets caught out in a lie and asked about it in public. You´d think, with all the practice he gets at it, that he´d do much better.

This is a prime example of that quality product he told us about. You know, the insurance that´s better´n what you already got.

No matter how low you think democrats can go, think LOWER. They will curtail freedom of speech, they will marginalize constitutional amendments, they will "go around congress", they will threaten and extort just like their union fellow-travelers have now been massively exposed doing, theory will blatantly LIE, ... tube list is endless. These socialists (who have re-named themselves "progressive" to avoid the socialist stigma) aspire to absolute control over everyone and everything, and they will seek to destroy you if you stand up to them. And since virtually NO democrat not in election danger will criticize this gestapo-like behavior, there are NO good democrats left.

Easter 2014: A celebration of hope
Fox News, by Rev. Dr. James B. Lemler    Original Article

Over 2 billion people are celebrating Easter today, April 20, as the calendars of Western and Eastern churches coincide this year, and these billions of faithful people are celebrating HOPE. The Easter message begins with the hopeful news that death has been overcome by life, that hatred has been overcome by love, and that sorrow has been overcome by joy. The elements of the story involve women arriving at a garden tomb and finding it empty, but even better, meeting the risen Lord, the embodiment of life and love. Their lives are changed forever and so are the lives of many, many

Chocolatiers love a holiday, be it Christmas, Valentine’s Day, or Easter. The French version of the Easter Bunny is Easter Bells (les cloches de Pâques)—which allegedly fly to Rome for a few days before the holiday to be blessed by the Pope before returning with chocolate eggs for the kids. But you don’t have to hunt very far to find French chocolate and pastry shop windows full of Easter eggs all trying to out-cute, out-class, or simply out-design one another. Good-looking pastries and other sweets are a modestly priced pleasure in France. But like fashion designers, French patissiers and chocolatiers

WHAT ARE the implications for Taiwan of China’s continued rise? Not today. Not next year. No, the real dilemma Taiwan will confront looms in the decades ahead, when China, whose continued economic growth seems likely although not a sure thing, is far more powerful than it is today. Contemporary China does not possess significant military power; its military forces are inferior, and not by a small margin, to those of the United States. Beijing would be making a huge mistake to pick a fight with the American military nowadays. China, in other words, is constrained by the present global balance

The immediate "crisis" portion of the standoff involving the federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy over his cattle grazing on federal land ended last week. Whether this will be end of Bundy´s troubles with the BLM, who have been in court with him over his refusal to pay fees to them for decades, remains to be seen, with the Bundys reporting that they´ve received registered mail from the BLM this week that they haven´t opened yet. I blogged about a lot of the factual background of the conflict here, with links to some relevant court documents. This story

WASHINGTON — Daniel Swalm was researching his family when he came across a disturbing episode in immigration history. That discovery would lead to a move in the U.S. Senate to apologize for action the nation took more than a century ago. Swalm discovered that under an obscure 1907 law, his grandmother Elsie, born and raised in Minnesota, was stripped of her U.S. citizenship after marrying an immigrant from Sweden. Swalm had never heard of the Expatriation Act that required a U.S.-born woman who married a foreigner to "take the nationality of her husband." Swalm, who lives in Minneapolis, found out about the law

This “Open Letter to the Friends of Ukraine,” by a guest columnist who writes under the pen name of Irina Gokieli, dated April 19, offers the author’s pessimistic scenario of forthcoming events in what Vladimir Putin now calls “NewRussia.” “NewRussia” encompasses southeastern Ukraine and parts of Moldova. She predicts an invasion by regular Russian troops near the end of the first week of May under the pretext of restoring order, although she does not rule out, as an alternative, an alliance of Putin with certain Ukrainian politicians and oligarchs. Notably the author makes a persuasive case that the long-term consequences

Attorney General Eric H. Holder was reminded during a recent congressional hearing that he has been held in “contempt of Congress” — for nonproduction of subpoenaed documents. He interrupted with a personal rebuke of his questioner. Later, he suggested that questioning of his leadership, nonresponsiveness to congressional oversight, and referring to the contempt vote was evidence of racism. The accusation was made a second time, perhaps as a political stratagem, by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Let’s stop there — and stop the deflection, too. No attorney general of the United States is entitled, for any reason, to escape scrutiny of Congress,

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after
