The FCC Plan To Police The Newsrooms
Investor´s Business Daily, by Editorial

First Amendment: The FCC has cooked up a plan to place "researchers" in U.S. newsrooms, supposedly to learn all about how editorial decisions are made. Any questions as to why the U.S. is falling in the free press rankings? As if illegal seizures of Associated Press phone records and the shadowy tailing of the mother of a Fox News reporter weren´t menacing enough, the Obama administration is going out of its way to institute a new intrusive surveillance of the press, as if the press wasn´t supine enough. Ajit Pai, a commissioner with the Federal Communications Commission, warned this week in a

I´ll bet that the first newsrooms visited will be Fox News and the Wall Street Journal.

Why would they even need to know how editorial decisions are made? Unless they are in 6th grade and learning about newspapers. Or 9th grade and learning how to publish the school paper. Or starting a job at a newspaper.

Never having been sticklers for word definitions, these criminals throw down the "Minority" card and claim they want to protect "Minority" opinions from being crushed in the newsroom when, in fact, it is the conservatives who are the extreme minority in most newsrooms.

But then they don´t mean minority in that sense, now, do they ?

This is appalling and in a sane world would be the casus beli sufficio.

I would have thought Ajit Pai already knew that editorial decisions in almost all U.S. newsrooms are made by operatives in the White House. This must be in response to the tiny amount of grumbling by the kneepad-wearing press. Time to put your pads back on and assume the position "journalists".

The only justification for the FCC is to ration the limited radio spectrum in order to prevent chaos and promote interstate commerce as a result. Beyond that, it should have no say as to content. How should the spectrum be rationed? Now that should be open to public debate. Should it control non-radiated spectrum (such as twisted pair, cable, and optical) on other than non-interference issues? IMO there is less of a case for that.

Show the "researcher" to his new desk down in storage room B and lock the door.
Make sure he has a red stapler and his computer is loaded with video games.
Let him out at lunch hour but don´t invite him to any meetings.
For his research, feed him memos from MSNBC by mistake.

The FCC now says it will be "closely reviewing the proposed research design to determine if an alternative approach is merited," as a result of Pai´s warning. Adweek actually reported that as a "retreat."

Not stated in the article is that Ajit Pai is one of the Republicans appointed by 0bama on the FCC. Here´s the link to the Adweek article saying the FCC is "backing off" of the study:

Gosh Wally, isn´t that just like telling companies that they have to swear to the IRS that none of their layoffs are because of obamacare, in writing, under threat of perjury charges, then coming out the following week and telling the nation that there is no evidence of job loss from obamacare?

Amnesty: President Obama often laments "our broken immigration system" as a reason for his failure to enforce its laws. But as a wave of illegals is about to descend here, the hard fact is that it´s his own policies that broke it. The nonpartisan Inter-American Development Bank and the Migration Policy Institute both reported optimal conditions for a big wave of illegal immigration into the U.S. from Mexico and Central America soon. Based on the slowdown in China´s economy, a recovery in U.S. low-skilled jobs such as construction, and rising U.S. interest rates, it´s fair enough.
