Ingraham Battles George Will,
Fox Panel: GOP ‘Elites’
Pushing Immigration Reform

Mediaite, by Evan McMurry

Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham battled the rest of the Fox News Sunday panel over immigration, arguing that immigration reform and current enforcement of immigration laws were weakening the American workforce, even as her fellow panelists countered that reform would bolster the economy. “I think what we’re seeing here is a split inside the Republican Party between two staunch conservatives,” host Chris Wallace said, going on to ply Ingraham with a Wall Street Journal editorial that called flinching on reform “de facto amnesty.” “As far as I can tell, the Wall Street Journal is on the side of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer,

It´s truly mind-numbing how stupid our pontificating pundit class is. Caught in the spell of the Beltway Bubble. Unable to grasp even the most obvious shred of common sense, or unwilling to speak it.

Ingraham alone gets it.

George Will needs another dinner with Obama. He actually believes these illegals are going to grow our economy. Laura made him, and his partner, Jaun Williams, look like chumps.
Will was pleading for more workers from Mexico. Unbelievable! What a champion of conservatism. He needs to go back to ABC--or wherever!! Thank you, Laura.

What´s the matter with you, Laura?

Don´t you realize that George Will is highly respected by America´s elite media pundits? Don´t you remember that he used to wear only bow ties?

C´mon, lady - - you´re challenging someone who regularly goes to Georgetown cocktail parties. That simply isn´t done.

Big business, all news networks included are in this boat together. They want cheap labor and yes well educated labor lumped in with it to make it palatable. The government needs them as taxpayers and social security payers to hold up the failing system. In addition, they are going to dump all the health care of their employees on the federal government. The states are already dumping their prisoners on the federal government. Elites will continue to have the best and the rest of us who pay the bulk of the taxes won´t be able to afford the best health care for ourselves. We, the so called ´middle class´, are being screwed. This will not be a cure for the excess government spending. I forsee the healthcare dollars eventually going into the general fund exactly as they have done with Medicare and Social Security. Our representatives, for the most part, are shortsighted and/or immoral to condone this.

If the GOP doesn´t get out in front of this issue, the Dems will make sure they have full citizenship with no border security in no time. Give them some legal status and demand border security. If Obama doesn´t secure the border, voters will know who to blame. But we have to do something!

Will tipped his hand when he said it isn´t about employment, it is about growth. What he means is growth through cheap labor. He also reinforced that with his comment about losing the race for human capital (that´s what he call people like us that work for a living). He means we need our wages as low as the rest of the world. That only happens when unemployment is chronically high.

This is basic free market economics 101.

Supply and demand works for wages just as it does for products. The wage for a job is set by the amount of people who will do the job.

If the amount of jobs needed to be done exceeds the amount of workers who will do them, then the compensation for labor will rise as jobs compete to attract someone to do them.

If you flood the market with workers and those workers exceed the amount of jobs to be done, then the compensation for labor decreases as workers compete to find a job.

This is why the canard of "Jobs Americans wont do" is such an insult to peoples intelligence.

A more fitting slogan is "Jobs businesses wont pay Americans to do".

Judgement day is coming - don´t know how long it will be, but the people will not sit still for this elitist mumbo jumbo forever.

The cheap labor argument is bogus. Illegals are already cheap. Amnesty will make them subject to labor laws, and thus no longer cheap.

Then new illegals will be brought in to do the $5 per hour work.

The 287g program was created in 2006. One of the first leaders to get trained and utilize the program was Sheriff Joe Arpaio. One sheriff was able to get up to speed on the program and identify something like 47,000 people here illegally, largely by checking the identities of people in jail and prison. Obama moved quickly cut Arpaio out of the program and then weaken it so that Hispanics would stop complaining. Once again, Obama was handed an effective government program and went out of his way to break it.

Yes indeed, why have borders if we validate those here illegally and fail to actually stop the crossings? I find the WSJ argument and Will´s interesting, but it relies upon the assumption that not passing the amnesty bill as proposed means nothing gets done and therefore that´s bad. So therefore it´s compromise for the sake of getting something no matter the absurdity of it. Clearly the Dems want the Hispanic vote and this is why they are for it, pure and simple. They couldn´t care less about the ones in the shadows, it´s all kabuki theater with illegals as props.

"Why even have borders?"

Ingraham had them there, because it´s not yet time for the elites to do the full-press open border propaganda campaign. However, that is what they plan. I´ve heard that very dream from south-of-the border leftists and from Libertarians. Our masters can´t admit it openly yet though. The goal is more control through a poorer and more malleable population.

Look the Democrats intend to grant as many illegal aliens as possible US citizenship either directly by way of amnesty, and if that is not politically possible at the time amnesty is granted, quietly after a few years when the smoke clears, so that they can be infused into the US electoral system. Common sence will tell you that the Democrats would not be doing that if they ever calculated that more then a small percentage of those new foreign born voters would ever vote for Republicans.

What the beltway crowd wants is open borders. This would be a disaster for our current welfare state regime. Burdening the taxpayer with the cost of education, medical care, food stamps, and disability for tens of millions of new Mexican immigrants would require the public to bankrupt themselves.

How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

In the case of Tamiflu, the drug does shorten symptoms of influenza by about half a day - as the manufacturer suggests - but there is insufficient evidence to support claims that it reduces hospital admissions or serious complications, such as confirmed pneumonia or

Although the news media and Hollywood relish telling stories about horrific crimes and serial killers, they are strangely silent about Dr. Kermit Gosnell, an abortionist who killed living, viable babies by snipping their spinal cords with scissors, and who is “America’s most prolific serial killer,” said actor Kevin Sorbo and his wife Sam Jenkins in a video to promote funding for a movie about Gosnell. “Kermit Gosnell is America’s most prolific serial killer,” says Kevin Sorbo, who starred in the TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. “For more than three decades he was an abortion doctor in Philadelphia, where he

Eric Holder ventured off script in a speech Wednesday to the National Action Network, the organization led by MSNBC host and recently-exposed FBI informant Al Sharpton. “I’m pleased to note that the last five years have been defined by significant strides and by lasting reforms,” said Holder at the conference of black activists, before improvising “even in the face, even in the face, of unprecedented, unwarranted, ugly, and divisive adversity.” “If you don’t believe that, if you look at the way, forget about me, forget about me, if you look at the way the attorney general of the United States was treated

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) could face up to five years in federal prison for obstructing a Congressional proceeding. On Wednesday, Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) and five Subcommittee Chairmen on the committee sent a letter to Ranking Member Cummings demanding an explanation for his staff’s queries from the IRS, why the Minority hid these efforts from the Majority, and why the Ranking Member denied such actions by his staff at a February Subcommittee hearing: “Although you have previously denied that your staff made inquiries to the IRS about conservative organization True the Vote that may have led to additional

As a former President of The Most Powerful Country In The World, George W Bush has significantly greater access to world leaders than most budding artists. (Snip) Art critics have pointed out that a number of the 30 portraits in the exhibition appear to be based on images thrown up by a cursory search of the person´s name in Google Images. In some cases the portrait seems to have been based on the very first image result on the search engine. Rather remarkably, even the portrait of his own father, someone who he surely could have asked to sit for him, appears to be based on an Associated Press portrait which appears on the first page of

Barack Obama got quite the handful on Thursday, April 10, but it was all for a good cause! As the President of the United States was boarding Air Force One with his wife Michelle Obama, a gust of wind blew up her skirt. Barack quickly stepped in and grabbed the First Lady´s billowing skirt to help her avoid a wardrobe malfunction and embarrassing Marilyn Monroe moment. Earlier in the week, another famous lady on the global stage suffered a similar snafu, but no one was around to help her -- not even her prince!

Nanny Firefox posted a political opinion on my screen before allowing me to proceed to read the article. This message didn’t appear when I accessed a second article which met with Firefox’s political commissar’s approval. Here’s what Firefox said: Careful Now! (shouldn’t they have said “Achtung! or “Verboten!” or something similar?). This website could not be displayed by Firefox because it is not
