Girl Scout Cookiecott
Breaks Out All Over

Breitbart´s Big Journalism, by Austin Ruse

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/7/2014 2:40:06 PM

The national boycott of Girl Scout cookies is inundating the group leading it. John Pisciotta, the boycott leader and director of Pro-Life Waco, tells Breitbart News his phone is “ringing off the hook.” What started at Breitbart News has now been reported by hundreds of media outlets large and small all across America. The Associated Press picked up on the story on February 4, and since then the report has been carried by FOX News, Huffington Post, Washington Post, Bloomberg/BusinessWeek, ABC, MSN, NPR, and Yahoo. Additionally, US News and World Report, AOL/HuffPoLive, and CBS DC/Washington have all run original stories on Cookiecott

Comments:
They should have thought about that before they supported Planned Parenthood. These groups just never learn that they will alienate half the population and therefore lose money. And yet they celebrate their association with Planned Parenthood.

The truth is that local troops are peons - serving the Central Council. Local troops sell cookies and the money is used at the national level for high living, big salaries and lucrative retirements.

The troops exist to serve the beast.

I called the Girl Scout main office several weeks ago when they first said that they were sponsoring Abortion Barbie for "Woman of the Year".
I said that there were many other women who were far more deserving.
The dim witted fool whom I talked to assured me that there were no political considerations in the decision, but that she deserved it on the basis of her resume and all of her accomplishments. To which I said what has she done? All I got was sputtering and was told that someone else would call me back. Crickets....

I realize Girl Scouts of America is a big organization that has allowed their brains to overload their good sense; however these are little girls who sit with their mothers outside the Kroger store in freezing weather. They probably don´t know what an abortion for sure is so I will continue to buy cookies from them on my way out of the store on Saturdays.

The last time I saw the Girl Scout Cookie sale table in front of my grocery store, I said to myself, "I won´t buy a cookie from these people as long as they support Planned Parenthood and their so called ´sex ed´ online.
This is the first I´ve heard of a boycott, but I´ll bet others feel the same as I feel without any encouragement from a leader.

Not I. The little girls selling cookies are my neighbor kids, my granddaughters and the daughters of the women in my husband´s office. As the earlier poster said, these young Scouts know nothing about Planned Parenthood and boycotts. There are better ways to let headquarters know how I feel about Planned Parenthood. I´m still buying cookies from these kids.

The lefty/lib/statists have so infiltrated leadership positions in many formerly reputable & ethical civic American organizations and Scouting has apparently been among those targeted for several decades. Now, from the Chamber of Commerce to the Girl Scouts, and everything in between, we hardly recognize ´em anymore. More´s the pity.

Girl Scout cookie sales are to support the troop but they´re also supposedly for "teach the scouts about business". Because they´re selling a product presumably. Well the product has become inferior, the price has become elevated and there are lower cost, better alternatives. So the only reason for anyone to buy the GS cookies is to donate to the organization, teaching the girls how to use a charity to make money.

We definitely don´t need more of that.

Maybe by telling them why you refuse to buy the cookies they would then know something about abortion and boycotts. Teaching a young person the value of life is much more important than buying a cookie.

I won´t buy the cookies, but will consider making a donation to a local troop planning a camp out or outing of some sort. Say, some money for gas or s´mores supplies. I get that the little girls don´t understand the boycott, but their big mothers and troop leaders do. These women have voices as well and might be inspired to let the higher ups know what is happening in the trenches.

It´s been forever since I´ve seen either a Girl Scout or a GS cookie. But I have to ask, how old are these girls outside of the Krogers? How do you know they aren´t being told about abortion and PP and the rest of it? OTOH I think boycotting GSA is kind of a socio-political loser, the kind of thing that makes ordinary, non-political folks equate "pro-life" with "extremist".

Certainly don´t buy the GS cookies if you disagree with the national organization. But standing at the GS cookie table in front of your local grocery store on a Saturday afternoon explaining to the little girls what abortion is and how the GS support murdering babies sounds like a heck of an imposition to me and frankly none of your business to do. Half the Brownies won´t even know where babies come from. Some Mother or Grandmother is liable to call the police and I wouldn´t blame them.

I am referring to lessons coming just in understanding that very nice people may pass your cookies by this year because they do not give money to any organization that would tell little girls Wendy Davis should be honored.

People would see the children out there selling cookies, or their neighbors or co-workers children ... and would set aside or compromise their anti-PP / pro-life beliefs and buy the cookies anyway.

Like #7, I used to really like the Thin Mints, until I started eating excellent chocolate. The last time (ever) I ate a Thin Mint, all I could taste was the wax in the chocolate. Brought back memories of bad Halloween candy as a kid.

I´ve heard of several Girl Scort groups around north Texas that have decided to forego the cookie scam and raise their own money for camp, etc.

It´s truly sad, but every single, once wholesome, organization in America has been infiltrated and commandeered by leftists. It´s time for the purge to begin.

The country that these little girls are growing up in is being destroyed. I think they have a right to know what their "leadership" values (for lack of a better word). If this spiral continues they will soon be living through acute hardships not seen since early this century. Children are people and protecting them from all things unpleasant does not prepare them for life.

Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Bill joined “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey at the Revlon Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall Thursday, joking of Spacey’s Machiavellian character, “When I was president people accused me of murder all the time, made a show of investigating. Spacey’s president for 15 minutes and he gets away with murder.” Spacey, who sang during the event with Sting, Stephen Stills and James Taylor, also showed off his Johnny Carson impression, taking a swipe at the coverage of Flight

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.” Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like
