The Hottest Men Drive….Pickup Trucks?
Fox News, by Kate Rogers

Men looking for a date for Valentine’s Day might want to invest in a Ford pickup truck--in black. According to a new survey from Insure.com that asked men and women to rank the kind of vehicles driven by the most attractive members of the opposite sex, women said drivers of black Ford pickup trucks were their top choice.(snip) The cars rounding out the top five women’s choices for the types of cars they tend find attractive drivers behind were: sports cars (27%), SUVs (16%), sedans (11%) and hybrid or electric cars (9%). The cars rounding out the top men’s choices for the

Comments:
The survey apparently only sampled heterosexual subjects which most likely accounts for the poor showing for electric cars.

I´m old and grumpy now but back in the day I found that my ´69 Ferrari Daytona helped to make up for my other various shortcomings.

I eventually figured out that it´s all a trick.

We get tricked into doing the incredibly hard work of raising the next generation.

But....ya, it was great fun.

They’re not all driving Fords. In fact, I know one cowboy who says he would rather walk and carry a Chevrolet hubcap than ride in a Ford. No matter the brand, the most attractive men in my world do drive big, hulking pickups called dooleys, with heavy steel grill guards or brush guards or come-alongs mounted on the front. Almost every truck has a gun rack mounted in the rear window with at least one shotgun or scoped rifle visible. The beds of the trucks carry giant steel tool boxes and air compressors, Igloo coolers, horse tack and cake. Most are outfitted with hitches for pulling enormous gooseneck stock trailers. Eight out of ten trucks have a dog of some description riding in the bed with his face in the wind, peering around the drivers door. The men wear heavy work shirts and faded jeans with leather work gloves protruding from a hip pocket. Their hats were dusty and sweat stained, their boots scuffed and muddy. Their names are Shorty and Tex and Red and Dallas, and they make business deals on a handshake, for big money, while standing in a pasture with one foot cocked up on the tailgate of a pickup, without a lawyer in sight.

I ride a bicycle, for the vast majority of my local transportation. It makes me VERY hot in the summer! (Ha!)

I never gave much thought to the "hotness factor"... nor will I going forward. How silly would it be to make transportation choices based on "image"?

Oh? Lots of people do it? Well, never mind, then.

I drive a yellow and white 1960 Ford pickup that I got in 2001. I have been amazed by how many women of all ages tell me how much they like my truck. Young women at the gas station, women at red lights roll their window down and honk to get my attention, a woman walking to her car at the grocery store and another waiting by my truck to talk to me in the grocery store parking lot! This truck gets more attention than the 1939 Ford pickup that I drove every day for 17 years

As to Post 11: yeah, many are. I was getting gas the other morning at one of the big plazas around here, and looked up to see on older model Dodge dooley with a stock trailer behind it pull up to a diesel pump on the other side of the plaza. The trailer was carrying five or six horses, saddled. The truck door opened and a girl got out [probably 30 years old, but at may age, anything younger than 50 is a girl], who was so pretty could have graced the cover of any fashion magazine in the world. If she stood a solid five foot tall she was stretching it, and wouldn´t have weighed a hundred pounds with bricks in both back pockets. Size didn´t matter. That 3/4-ton pickup and huge stock trailer behind it didn´t intimidate her one bit.

I thought to myself, yeah, that´s how we roll out here in the boonies.

Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles.
