World´s richest 85 people have as
much as bottom half the population

McClatchy Foreign, by Matthew Schofield

Original Article

The world’s richest 85 people control the same amount of wealth as the total held by half the world’s population, according to a report issued today by the British-based anti-poverty charity Oxfam. The means the world’s poorest 3,550,000,000 (3.55 billion) people must live on what the richest 85 possess. Another way to look at it: Each of the wealthiest 85 Earthlings has access to the resources available to about 42 million of the world’s poor, a population equal to the total number of people living in Canada, with those all those from Kentucky and Kansas tossed in.

Income Equality? How does this fit into the definition? 85 pairs of hands, feet, legs and arms to carry all that money. True riches are... Micah 6:8 You have been told, O mortal, what is good, and what the LORD requires of you: Only to do justice and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God.

Seems to me that the bottom half of the population should get to work (if the Marxists will let them).

The solution is simple enough:
1) Identify who holds the wealth.
2) Kill them and confiscate their property.
3) Distribute the proceeds equally.

This has been done with varying degrees of success in Russia and the Eastern Bloc nations, China, North Korea, Viet Nam, Cuba, and elsewhere.

Do not be deceived by Marxist propaganda. It only leads to destruction.

Confiscate all the wealth of those rich people and give it all to the poor ...

... and it will all revert back the wealthy in a decade.

In Darwinian terms - that it has to be.

Equilibrium or extinction.

Live with it.

Or perish ...

World´s richest 85 people have as much as bottom half the population? Best argument against wealth redistribution I´ve ever seen. If you confiscate all of it and give it to bottom half, they still won´t have much and the top 85 won´t have anything. It´s a one time deal that won´t accomplish a thing.

Wow. The Kneepad Press have finally dropped the mask. They´re now openly promoting Communism, the most murderous ideology in history. 120,000,000 innocent people were murdered last century in the name of Communism/Socialism. Will our media or our schools ever tell anyone the truth about the politics of Hatred, Fear and Envy? Of course not. They´re too busy promoting it.

It never gets old ...

“Property is the fruit of labor… Property is desirable [and] is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and, hence, is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.” ~~ Abraham Lincoln

We on this forum know that the result of this will be greater burdens on the middle class none of them among the 85 to supply funds for the top 85 to grab while the bottom 50% are looked after well enough that they remain dependent. The super rich do not earn it any more than the lofo welfare bums! They rob others on a much grander scale by putting themselves in the position to privately create currency. The first part of the constitution to be shredded was Article 1 Sec 8 Powers of Congress: - To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures; The Federal Reserve is a private institution despite the name. It´s rate on money is essentially zero for the last few years but it has not always been. When this clause was shredded it was inevitable the the rest would be as well. This Oxfam article and others like it never point at the biggest scam of all - the banking scam.

If you have ONE PENNY of net worth you are ´´richer´´ than one quarter of Americans!
Fully 1/4th of all American households have ZERO net worth!
So, naturally, the WalMart owners, the Waltons, are ´´richer´´ than 40% of American households.
I´m sure the numbers are similar in the UK.

When our children graduated from prestigious graduate and professional schools, because of student loans and little savings, they each had a large negative net worth. Statistically, therefore, they were among the "have nots." Their father started off the same way, with a paper degree and a car that was less worth than the remaining payments. Oh, plus two pair of nice slacks and a blazer. No one should spend a moment worrying about any of us.

This is a problem only because it fuels both the politics of influence and the politics of envy. Too much of either is bad.

The cause? Once a person has many millions the wealth will just keep accumulating. Only political upheaval or a decision not to diversify is likely to bring a setback.

A comment on statistics and media:

That ´bottom half´ is mostly children who have zero ownership of anything. Thus I probably own as much as the billion at the very bottom.

I suppose the McClatchy writer thinks everyone, other than the 85, should just give up and quit working. There is no hope. The rich today will be the rich tomorrow and forever. Even Barack Obama has collected more than $16 million from his books. I want my part.

I actually did a search to check out the list of the top 100. It is an interesting mix of entrepreneurs (Bill Gates), merchants (Sam Walton), investment specialists (Warren Buffet), hedge fund operators (George Soros), etc. One interesting character near the top was Harold Hamm who was one of those oilmen that believed that oil could be liberated from the shale of North Dakota. With the exception of Soros who has made money betting on the collapse of currencies he may have precipitated, the wealth they had was created by offering a valuable product at a price the market was willing to pay.

I´m picturing a typical billionaire.

If he sits on his money, living in a flophouse, eating food from his own garden, he seems "poor" by choice. Then the wealth he rightfully owns is managed well or poorly.

If managed well, then he blesses everyone he deals with. If poorly, it is quickly transferred to others. So every penny spent is a benefit to others.

Every penny NOT spent is an increase in the value of money that is in circulation. He is not bidding up the price of ANYTHING is he is not spending. So every penny NOT spent, every economic vote he COULD have cast, but didn´t, is - once more - a blessing to the community.

At no point does his wealth become anything other than a blessing, or at least harmless, to his community!

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

President Obama pulled a surprise move Monday at the White House’s Easter Prayer Breakfast when he selected Gene Robinson to lead the closing prayer. Robinson is famously known as the first openly gay Episcopal bishop. Talking Points Memo’s Tom Kludt spotted the following tweet from Robinson, who was in attendance: (Tweet) Robinson, 66, became diocesan bishop of New Hampshire in March 2004. He retired in January 2013 and is currently a senior fellow at the progressive

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of
