Two-thirds unhappy with income
distribution, Gallup poll finds

The Hill (Washington DC), by Blake Neff

As debate in Washington turns increasingly to the issue of income inequality, Gallup´s annual “Mood of the Nation” survey finds that two-thirds of Americans are dissatisfied with the current distribution of income and wealth in the U.S. When asked how satisfied they were with the “the way income and wealth are distributed in the U.S.,” 67 percent of respondents said they were dissatisfied, while 39 percent described themselves as very dissatisfied. In contrast, only 32 percent were content with America´s wealth distribution, and a scant 7 percent described themselves as very satisfied. While there is a sizable gap in sentiments

The politics of envy are an evil road to take. We´re turning envy into a virtue rather than a sin.

The great majority of us here called this last week. Income inequality is the new Repulican war on women, the new Social justice, the new Healthcare for all.

Its a sham, a charade, its false. Its class warfare at its worst. Of course the idiots and LoFo´s are gonna covet the wealth. Its what they do! They want what you have, they want what you have earned, and if tey cannot take it from you by force, they will have their "elected representatives" take it by fiat.

Income isn´t ´distributed´.

This intentionally biased term gives the impression that the ´central planners´ need to do a better job.

They don´t exist......yet.

Generally your income is based on your value to an employer or customer. So if you are dissatisfied that your income is not up to snuff, you have at least 3 choices: steal someone else´s money, ELECT representatives who will steal someone else´s money "legally", or improve yourself and your skills so that you can make more money. "Distribution of Income" implies that money is sprinkled down from the sky and some get more than others. If you get less than some others, that is construed by many as premeditated maldistribution. Instead of complaining about being short-changed regarding wealth, alleged victims of maldistribution should try LOOKING IN THE MIRROR.

Tell the poor they are victims and suggest they should envy the rich. Make sure no one tells them that they would need to earn $60,000 to offset the government support they have. We only just reformed welfare in 2004. Obama has used emergency unemployment benefits to wipe out those gains.

So 32% - all Democrats - along with the msm want income redistribution. We are being governed by a minority! Everything in Congress is being done to please this minority and to hell with the 67% that don´t all this massive transfer of wealth to those who just don´t want to work. If not the msm will vilify and destroy anyone who is against this Marxist redistribution. It has got to stop and soon! But we all know it won´t. The ruling minority will always get what they want until we run out of money and that day is fast approaching.

This is one of those polls viewed through the lens of liberal media.

It´s unclear whether they are unhappy because of "income inequality" or because people should be able to keep more of what they make. If anything, the other questions about the ability to get ahead with hard work indicate the latter.

And even if you are unhappy with "income inequality" it doesn´t indicate what you think the solution is. We know lots of government regulations benefit the rich and established companies (watch John Stossel´s program is you want examples) at the expense of people trying to get ahead through hard work.

The Democrats have one program - Buying Voters and their votes to maintain power. The good of the country is a notion they do not care about. As a result, the country is in chaos.

Boycott your mainstream media - no NY Times, Wash Post, no NBC, CBS, CNN, ABC. They are not doing their job as guardians of democracy and presenting the truth.

The bottom 1/4th of American households have fewer than 1/2 a person working full-time.
The top 1/4 of American households have 2 people working full-time.
Even if wages were ´´equalized,´´ those poor households would have only one quarter of the income of the richest households....simple math.

Wealth is distributed in two basic ways: primarily by producers and free market exchanges creating wealth and leaving it in the possession of the ones responsible, i.e., the "makers," and secondarily, by theft, accomplished by the "takers."

Neither group will be satisfied. Those who answered that they were "satisfied" have misunderstood the question.

I will admit that it irritates me when no one in the company has received a pay increase in over two years and they announce that they may or may not give out pay raises in 2015. The next day the company announces 40 scholarships. It also irritates me knowing that our new CEO lives in California and flies back and forth to our Ohio headquarters for work.

So yeah......I´m unhappy about it too. Not because some people earn a crap load more than do, but because the company wizzes away money needlessly while the hardworking employees don´t see any benefit to working harder, faster, with increasing responsibilities and a workforce cut by a 3rd. All to make the "investors" on Wall Street happy.

Soon The Hill will report that 85% of Americans want to eliminate Dihydrogen Oxide from the earth.

The easier question would be, "Do you wish you had more money, more assets, and fewer liabilities (debt)?" The next question concern what to do with those who have more than you. Of course, they might be your employer.

U.S. military assets in the Black Sea are on high alert amid reports Ukraine troops traded gunfire Tuesday with pro-Russian militants. A journalist with Associated Press reported intense gunfire at an airport in eastern Ukraine after the government sent in army troops to retake control from militiamen loyal to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The mayor of Kramatorsk told the Associated Press that Ukrainian troops have now occupied the military airport and are blocking its entrance. The action comes a day after the revelation a Russian fighter jetted buzzed a U.S.S. destroyer multiple times over the Black Sea.

House Democrats are rolling out a new strategy to target 30 House Republicans on immigration reform during the two-week congressional recess, marking a last-ditch effort to force GOP action on a legislative overhaul. The new pressure tactic includes a memo distributed to those 30 districts held by Republicans who have expressed public support for some sort of immigration reform, many of them backing a pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants in the United States. Scott Walker has a 16 point lead (56-40) among likely voters in his race for governor, according to a poll from Wisconsin Public Radio/St. Norbert’s. Among registered voters, his lead is essentially the same (55-40). The survey was conducted between March 24 and April 3. A Marquette University survey conducted between March 20-23 also showed Walker with a nice, though smaller, lead. In that poll, Walker outdistanced Democrat Mary Burke 48-41. Revealingly, Walker fares well in an electorate that does not seem particularly conservative and that, if anything, appears to be slightly to the left of American voters in general.

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

President Obama pulled a surprise move Monday at the White House’s Easter Prayer Breakfast when he selected Gene Robinson to lead the closing prayer. Robinson is famously known as the first openly gay Episcopal bishop. Talking Points Memo’s Tom Kludt spotted the following tweet from Robinson, who was in attendance: (Tweet) Robinson, 66, became diocesan bishop of New Hampshire in March 2004. He retired in January 2013 and is currently a senior fellow at the progressive

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of

Some time back, whenever a big racial controversy erupted, I trained myself into the habit of reading about it at FoxNews.com, just for the unbelievable comment threads. Let’s put it this way: If my friends and I went out to a bar and started playing a “let’s write the racist FoxNews.com comment thread” drinking game, our efforts couldn’t begin to approach what I read there.I wasn’t alone. Liberal websites started feasting on these threads. And so, a couple of years ago, Ailes & Co. got wise. Stories about race were, at least in my disheartened experience, closed to comments.
