Hillary? Really?
Weekly Standard, by William Kristol

This week’s Time magazine splashes the question on its cover: “Can Anyone Stop Hillary?” The Weekly Standard is happy to provide our friends at Time with an answer to their query: Yes. Hillary Clinton can be stopped. How? Let us count the ways. The easiest way Hillary can be stopped is if she stops herself. She can choose not to run. Indeed, Time reports “on good authority” that “Hillary Clinton has not decided whether to run for president again.” There is a reasonable chance she’ll decide not to. She’s an intelligent woman. She remembers that her last experience of running

Hillary Clinton is too outdated to please the new breed of insane leftists, coming in the pipeline, who want cradle to grave benefits to avoid ever having to work. It´s weird that tese career avoidece people would want free college at the same time.We have younger and younger alcoholics and druggies than ever who will never be fit for the workforce, somebody has to support them.

There´s many people working for the government who can´t read at an 8th grade level and some as low as a 3rd grader´s reading skills.

Hillary will be all over the history books: Only first lady to be in the senate, first lady who was Secretary of State. Given the state of history book, they will overlook Benghazi, but devote quite a number of pages to Herself.

Trends in music, fashion and entertainment are quickly adopted and abandoned in our modern ADD culture.

Why, then, are we cursed with 2 decades plus of these cretins? Hillary is unqualified by temperament or training to hold any office. That she has held 2 important ones to date is an indictment of the system, the media and the voters.

She´s got a hide as thick as an elephant´s, although it lacks the smoothness, and claims to be accustomed to the cut and thrust of politics. But, in a rare sober moment, she must realize that her only hope of obtaining power is to wage a paradoxical campaign in which she appears as little as possible. Then and now, people are physically, viscerally repelled by her even before she opens that maw to screech.

Obama´s handpicked ´human scenery´ backdrops are as cliched as his speeches, but there are still pockets of the gullible who will show up because, y´know, he´s a hip black guy.

Who, one wonders, will they press-gang in to stand behind this harpy, unloved by even her so-called husband and tolerated by her party only as a blunt instrument of political destruction?

I´m not so sure I agree with this article, most polls show her way above the rest. I have some liberal friends and they salivate at the thought of a Hillary POTUS, after loving Billy Boy so much. She is the progressives dream and will carry on with the take down of the country, the media will obviously do everything they can to get her in, and then there´s voter fraud, yep she´s got alot going for her.

This power hungry harridan will drag her family garbage through the streets again. What a mess! She has done nothing so far except run for office. I think Obama sent her on a fool´s errand to get her out of his hair and out of the country. He really didn´t care about our standing in the world. The one thing she did was to make sure her plane was always loaded with booze and Huma the Muslim was at her side. That´s all.

The Democrats played the race card last time with great success. This time they will pull out the gender card but it remains to be seen if Hillary´s face is on that card. I would hope that Benghazi would prevent that. Whatever female face is on that card, she will be the one we´ve been waiting for, just like Obama. The ads will write themselves. Republicans hate women. They have declared war on women. Blah, blah, blah...this will be their entire campaign. Get ready because if it´s not Hillary, it will be another female.

I seem to remember that herself was "poised for a cakewalk" back in 2008. Until the clean articulate sort of black guy showed up and the demoncrats realized that his Teflon coating was even thicker than hers.

She´s a fat, wrinkled, old screeching harpy and the critical 18 - 30 year olds either barely remember the Bubba years or don´t remember them al all.

Her only hopes are massive voter fraud and 20-30 million new immigrant voters. The tragedy is that the Republicans in congress and the RNC are poised to give her both.

Obama´s shtick has set a very high bar as to what the media will tolerate, support and foster. Journos have given up a lot knowing Zip is untouchable.

Hillary not so much, even being a woman (in her way). She has to know she doesn´t have that latitude and risks more than her name. Is she like Obama? Does she want to preside over the final dismantling of this country that Obama has more than set in motion? Will the name Clinton be forever tied to ruination?

I started watching the Humana Challenge Golf Tournament from Palm Springs, CA on Thursday and guess who they were interviewing.. the Impeached, lying, disbarred, rapist, WH Intern despoiler, criminal pardoner... Bill Clinton.

Well he might just be the Golf Channels cup of tea, but there he was spewing lies about how much good he and Hillary had accomplished in different ways. The tournament should have been called the Huma challenge in honor of PIAPS herself and her ´advisor´.

After that bunch of baloney, I switched channels for the duration of the week. Just think, this was an open door to the Liberal mind. The media tried to hang Duck Dynasty for supposed Gay slurs recently and they give the Clinton´s a pass for being common criminals.

I´m still predicting it will be Cory Booker. He has virtually the same resume as Obama (thin), well dressed and well spoken, and has a built in support team holding an advance copy of the 2016 "race card" playbook.

The only drawback might be that he has Obamas support. If BHOs approval ratings continue to crater then the only running Booker will do is whatever direction is farthest away from him.

This is why the Dems will pressure another left-wing candidate to get into the race. Hilary doesn´t stoke their engines - she´s old news.
I wouldn´t be surprised if they turn to De Blasio. The fact that he is barely qualified to be a dog catcher in NYC is irrelevant. His wife is a black lesbian. How could Democrat primary voters resist ´making history´ once again?

Thanks to Kristol for reading Time´s tripe for us. None of us would have bothered with it otherwise. Time merely looked at the latest name recognition polls which put Hillary at the top of potential candidates, had an orgasm, then put that orgasm into print. But Time´s limp wristed doofuses are too intellectually stunted to have done some serious analysis, they´re just telling us their own hopes and dreams.

If you are a died in the wool, fully committed anti fascist, like most critical Ldotters ARE, you would not give Evita the milestone murderess, a moment´s thought.

A true cynic could suggest the Benghazi murders were carefully planned to take the heat off her long list of over 100 previously unsolved murders, assassinations, plane crashes, "suicides", including the armed military attack on the family compound of men, women and children of Waco, Texas, who were shot at, burned down and crushed to mass death, while the subservient television press was kept over three miles away out of sight. Along with Hilary´s best friend, Vince Foster, Ron Brown, don´t
ever forget the 168 deaths, including school children, when the entire five story Oklahoma City Murrah building exploded out, with multiple explosions, and the whole attack was attributable to one crazed guy and a small car loaded with explosive fertilizer. Yes, one more amazingly unreported act of violence. Time to go back and look at all this Clinton co presidency administration violence and brutality.
Never take your eyes off the Benghazi ball, but look back to her incredible history of co violence with Bill
(who, god forbid, would also return to the White House!).

We have tons of up and coming prospects. And if they try to point to experience, they need to fight back with sharp knives. Her thighness had not deserved being anything other than a wronged wife who "stuck by her man".. and the left has been paying her back ever since.

We really should not even be having this conversation: Killary has a monkey on her back(well mulitples, actually). She left the administration in shame re Benghazi and that needs to be repeated over and over again, from the highest mountain top. Let the foolish dems bet all their chips on her, if they are so obsessed with her getting the position and suck the oxygen out of any other democrat having a shot at it. Then watch her crash and burn. If she runs, just keep calling her a "quitter", like they bugged Sarah Palin about re Alaska governor. Better yet call her B of B or killer or incompetent-it all applies.

Hillary has a dual problem. On the left the young radical by-any-means Marxists don´t identify with her. On the right she fills the Conservative base with loathing and revulsion. There is not enough room left. However, she and Billybub have access to enough money, confidential files, goons to get the nomination if she (they) want it.

Everyone from the Clinton past is going to combine resources in 2016 because complicity requires payback and its now or never for the whole Clinton Ascendency. Expect bare knuckles within the DNC againts primary challenges. If Hill doesn´t run it will be because she sees the wolves from her past at the gate wanting their due. Maybe best to manage from afar as she does now. Agree with #26. If she runs, we need a woman. A very very strong woman.

How can a piece, even one as brief as this, discuss Hillary´s future without using the word "Benghazi"?

She will never escape it because Americans want answers. The picture of her at the hearing balling up her gnarled fists and screeching will follow her wherever she goes. "What difference, at this point, does it make" is her epitaph.

While a male of her age in politics may be labeled a statesman, Hillary is a dried up old shrew with no relevance or appeal.

Another un-elected, un-regulated co-President? This will be like the Perons of Argentina - again. The President´s spouse does not need $hundreds of millions. Household activities - Dept of Interior budget. Chauffeurs - Secret Service budget. The President´s salary can cover the rest.

A lot depends on who the GOP selects for it´s 2016 candidate. (somehow I don´t think the voters select their candidate) If they follow their past, they will put up someone that doesn´t have a chance is he$$ of getting elected. Think McCain and Romney. If they somehow put up a real candidate (think conservative not a RINO) then there is a real chance that the GOP retake the WH. Personally, the more I read and hear about him, I´m beginning to really think seriously about Scott Walker. He seems to have all the traits the this country desperately needs. And he has taken on the dims in his home state and made they look silly.

Before the cannons fired at Fort Sumter, the Confederates announced their rebellion with lofty rhetoric about “violations of the Constitution of the United States” and “encroachments upon the reserved rights of the States.” But the brute, bloody fact beneath those words was money. So much goddamn money. The leaders of slave power were fighting a movement of dispossession. The abolitionists told them that the property they owned must be forfeited, that all the wealth stored in the limbs and wombs of their property would be taken from them. Zeroed out. Imagine a modern-day political movement that contended that mutual funds and

In a new book released today, Massachusetts Democratic senator and potential presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren attempts to rewrite history regarding the controversy surrounding her “Native American” ancestry that emerged in the 2012 Senate campaign. What’s remarkable is that, at least in the initial book reviews, the press largely allows her to get away with it. In fact, it’s virtually ignored that to this day Warren still refuses to release any law school records that may shed light on this controversy. To be fair, most reviews note that Warren has never substantiated her claims of Native American heritage, which is true.

Wendy Davis’ campaign has had its problems. The revelation that her life story of personal struggle and triumph as a single mother was embellished was a game changer. Her campaign has had a communications problem as well, playing media favorites and putting Davis on stage with a shotgun in a Dukakis-in-tank moment. The video of Davis’ supporters mocking Greg Abbott’s disability was cringe-worthy. Her flip-flop then flop-flip on late term abortion alienated her base, as did her endorsement of open carry. There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

After years of litigation, the Supreme Court on Monday said it would decide if Congress or the State Department has the final say in whether U.S. passports acknowledge Jerusalem as part of Israel. This touches on one of the most sensitive issues in decades of Middle East conflict, and the case also presents a major separation-of-power conflict between the legislative and executive branches. The controversy is over a 2002 law passed by Congress regarding passports. It says that a U.S. citizen born in Jerusalem may request his or her birthplace to be listed as Israel. The collection spans from 1896 to 1976 and there’s obviously a lot of great stuff to comb through that ranges from politics to art to culture to sports. One video that has caught The Daily Caller’s eye is the one below, in which American birth control activist Margaret Sanger (here called Margaret Slee, which was her second husband’s name) sternly demands that the women of the world have “no more babies.” The snippet was filmed

Chelsea’s baby will remind voters of Hillary’s age—or it’ll make her more relatable. Or it’ll make her forget politics altogether. A look at the ludicrous search for political fallout. OK, I get it. The arrival of Baby Clinton-Mezvinsky will be a boon to Hillary Clinton’s presumed candidacy because it will humanize her, softening what remains of her Lady Macbeth image. It will prove so helpful, according to one radio flannel-mouth, that it was likely an act of strategic planning. No, wait. It will seriously, perhaps fatally, damage her prospects, because the “grandmother” label will remind people that she will be 69 in

In the late-1970s, after a Rolling Stone review skewered his band’s latest album, Paul Kantner of the rock band Jefferson Starship fired off a nastygram the magazine printed which read (profanity removed): “We do what we want. Bleeeeeep you.” Although even then it was becoming obvious that a more generic version of Kantner’s attitude was systematically permeating the culture at an alarming rate, who could have guessed that 30 years later, his reaction would become the operating theme of a U.S. presidential administration? No one can argue that even before his 2008 electoral victory, Barack Obama and his cadre of collectivists were

President Obama and other officials like to point to projections by the Congressional Budget Office to show that ObamaCare "is working," as the president put it. He said 8 million have enrolled in the federal exchanges, but the CBO said in a recent report only 6 million are newly insured and some say even fewer than that did not have prior insurance. "Twenty to 33 percent are actually newly insured and out of 8 million, that would be no more than 2 to 3 million people," said David Hogberg of National Center for Public Policy Research in Washington. That is

It’s impossible to exorcise the memories of 2012. But Rick Perry is going all out to present a new and improved version of himself — the swaggering big-state governor of old, with a dash of seasoned wise man thrown in. In the early months of 2014, his political team has booked him on one high-profile program after another: He’s joked with Jimmy Kimmel, charmed the “Morning Joe” crowd and wowed the Conservative Political Action Conference. The Texas Republican’s hip glasses are still earning approving media mentions long after he first donned them. And the possible 2016 candidate has spent time

When incumbent Democrat Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR) attacked his midterm opponent Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR) last month over his supposed sense of “entitlement” from his military service, it prompted widespread scorn and mockery — not least of which included pointed reminders that Pryor owes his own political career to his dad. The NRSC hammered Pryor and its DSCC counterparts for their “unacceptable” attacks on military service, but Cotton himself has opted for a lighter touch. He called his drill instructor to demonstrate just what military service taught Cotton, and “entitlement” doesn’t make the list:

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

He has power, incredible power, and yet to this day he has no understanding of the election that made it so. Moreover, all around him are astonishing opportunities for him to be an historic figure -- one who could and should be the man who did more than any other single person in turning back the red tide of Obama. It’s all there for Speaker of the House, and yet John Boehner manages to miss

Global sea levels have risen by 8 inches (20cm) since 1880 and scientists predict they could rise up to 3ft (98cm) by 2100. But despite the UN’s recent threats of war, famine and extreme weather, such a dramatically different world caused by sea level rise can be hard to imagine. To help picture the future, Martin Vargic, an amateur graphic designer from Slovakia, has created a map depicting the planet with sea levels around 260ft (79m) higher than they are today. He imagines what Earth would look like if the ice sheets surrounding the North and South poles melted, releasing

It may not be tomorrow, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says "something will happen" to force a Nevada rancher to obey a court order to stop grazing his cattle on federal land and pay his grazing fees. "It´s obvious that you can´t just walk away from this," Reid said in an April 18 interview with a Nevada´s KSNV-TV News 3 program “What’s Your Point?” "You can´t have a law that is -- we´re a nation of laws, not of men and women," he said.

Harry Reid isn’t backing down from his claim that rancher Cliven Bundy’s supporters are “domestic terrorists.” It’s astonishing rhetoric given the White House’s characterization of the mass shooting by a genuine terrorist, Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 Americans at the Fort Hood Army base after yelling “Allahu Akbar!” (God is great.) Rather than labeling Hasan’s actions “domestic terrorism,” the Obama administration is prosecuting him for having committed “workplace violence.” Democratic rhetoric is become ever more desperate and overheated as we approach the November midterm elections. Last week, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that GOP positions on immigration were motivated by

Perhaps the most remarkable feature of American democracy is the magnificent estate of public land that it reserved from the very beginning for the use of all citizens, rich or poor. There is nothing like it in the democracies of Europe, which came into being with nations already carved up into private fiefdoms. The Great Idea that hundreds of millions of acres of forests, deserts, rivers and prairies should be owned by, and managed for, the public interest has had a profound and lasting influence on American culture. But not everyone has accepted it. Cliven Bundy’s armed standoff with the National Park
