Melissa Harris-Perry Breaks
Down On Air While Addressing
Kieran Romney Controversy

Mediaite, by Tommy Christopher

A perfect storm of slow news and cultural provocation elevated Melissa Harris-Perry‘s New Year’s weekend segment, which used Kieran Romney‘s appearance in a Romney family photo as a setup for jokes about diversity, into a full-blown media conflagration. That firestorm has now roiled into a second weekend. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA) is expected to address the controversy tomorrow on Fox News Sunday, and Melissa Harris Perry addressed it on air for the first time on the Saturday morning edition of the Melissa Harris Perry show. While I think her apology is genuine, she works for a network that wrote the book on sleazy greasy opinion based reporting. Than in and of itself makes me wonder if its a ratings ploy.

All of this could have been avoided had she, like all Leftists, been obsessed with the color of someone´s skin - in other words, had she not been a racist.

Leftists are the racists. Smiley-faced racism is still racism. Leftists are the ones they are against, the people who deal in stereotypes, bias, prejudice and assumptions about individuals based upon skin color.

We have to admit that many of the Left´s professed values are worthy ones, e.g. to deplore racism, intolerance and hate. The trouble is that it is the Left that is the home of these and other negative attitudes that they insist upon falsely attributing to the rest of us.

There seems to be something wrong with the Left´s mirror that prevents believers from seeing themselves as they really are and as the rest of us see them.

MHP mocked Romney´s family because she is a racist and full of hate.

And so are those that are on her panel and produce her show.

For it to occur to her to ridicule a family portrait because one member has different skin color means that she is very deeply disturbed, and should seek professional help.

The problem is that´s how liberals think. Did a director, producer or co-worker tell her not to go there? No. They were all in lock step agreement:make fun of Romney and their adopted black grandchild. They must have laughed themselves silly in the green room.
I don´t buy her apology either…because she doesn´t get it.

I have noticed for some time now, years actually, that Democrats, Liberals, Progressives do as they bloody well please, and then come the apologies.

Their brains don´t seem to operate with any thought as to the outcome of their vicious comments. Their motto: attack, if it fails then do the mea Copa. Tears, hand rubbing, looking down, sucking in ones lips, like Obama does, and this is suppose to create the emotional measure of sincere regret.

No Sale. It has been over worked!

Showing the picture and asking them to caption it was not off the top of her head. Their first instinct was to be rude and disgusting. Suddenly they´re saying they didn´t mean it, but they sure did. Especially MHP who prompted the "captioning" in a preplanned segment. The others were likely not aware this was going to happen, so it just shows their instincts are to go to racism and cruelty, but MHP knew in advance and that shows this is her to her bones.

She´s only crying because she got called out.

Finally! The cat is finally out of the bag.

The liberal media rule is that only liberal white celebrities are allowed to adopt black children without having their motives questioned.

Where do the Romneys get off releasing a family portrait that includes a BLACK child?

Last I heard, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were admired for their desire to have a large, racially diverse family. How could Harris-Perry, a professor specializing in race and gender, mock a decision that carries multiple benefits for the families and children involved, and for our society in general?

Liberals might want to spend some time asking themselves what bothers them so much about the Romney adoption. In what way does a conservative white family adopting a black child threaten them, or anyone else? How can liberals feel anything but happy for all concerned?

OK, gonna join #21 in going against the flow. If it´s not a sincere apology, it is a bloody good imitation of one, notable for the absence of the usual "if I may have offended someone, I´m sorry you were offended" garbage. I think Mitt and family will accept it, not because they are wimps, but because they are ladies and gentlemen. Robert E Lee was a gentlemen too, but he was no wimp.

This woman is the product of a mixed race family which makes her a mulatto (dictionary definition) ,like Obama, not black. She must makes a decent salary as a TV talk show hostess, and is a professor at Tulane. The salaries from both jobs certainly place her in the 1%, which means she has the means to adopt some poor , underprivileged black child and give the child an opportunity for a better life than living as an orphan and later in a foster family. Give that child a chance to become successful as the Romney´s have and their grandchild will be. Why don´t these wealthy black individuals adopt more black children? Because they are all almost full of BS, living under the liberal mantra of DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO.
Congratulations to Mitt Romney´s son for doing what black-Americans don´t do: adopt a black child.

However, there is a general permission by liberals to scoff at and ridicule anyone who is Republican or Conservative. So, there is a general "yuk-yuk-yuk, disparage, disrespect" Romney and whatever he does or says. It is just an innate part of liberal journalists and networks.

But in this one particular case, I think MHP is sincere. Maybe I´m a sap for chicks crying, and all my exes can vouch for that, but I really think she means it. And in each and every instance of true regret and apology, the human response is to accept it. No matter who it´s from.

Every time I hear the phrase MoveOn, I think of the Left´s fondness for this action.

The most damning thing I can say about MHP is that she is a "typical" Leftist. No thought involved, just spew the party line and all the comrades will applaud and you´ll become popular in their sphere. Bullying that results in crocodile tears when caught is a sign of a mean-spirited child trapped in an adult body.

If her parents are Mormons they should be ashamed of her, not to mention her Mormom church congregation. Perhaps she deserves to be shunned.

A journalist with Associated Press reported intense gunfire at an airport in eastern Ukraine after the government sent in army troops to retake control from militiamen loyal to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The mayor of Kramatorsk told the Associated Press that Ukrainian troops have now occupied the military airport and are blocking its entrance. The action comes a day after the revelation a Russian fighter jetted buzzed a U.S.S. destroyer multiple times over the Black Sea.

The new pressure tactic includes a memo distributed to those 30 districts held by Republicans who have expressed public support for some sort of immigration reform, many of them backing a pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants in the United States. Democrats hope the document — which highlights statements made by those Republicans in favor of reform, as well as data showing the district-specific economic

Is Scott Walker on his way to

Scott Walker has a 16 point lead (56-40) among likely voters in his race for governor, according to a poll from Wisconsin Public Radio/St. Norbert’s. Among registered voters, his lead is essentially the same (55-40). The survey was conducted between March 24 and April 3. A Marquette University survey conducted between March 20-23 also showed Walker with a nice, though smaller, lead. In that poll, Walker outdistanced Democrat Mary Burke 48-41. Revealingly, Walker fares well in an electorate that does not seem particularly conservative and that, if anything, appears to be slightly to the left of American voters in general.

UC Irvine Should Immediately Rescind

Note: This post was inspired by the #DropDropbox campaign. On March 20 the University of California, Irvine, announced that Barack Obama will give the commence address to its class of 2014. This is deeply disturbing, and anyone—or any university—who values ethics should be concerned. Why is this? Because he was part of the failed Obama administration? Because he is a Democrat and we should hate Democrats? No. This is not an issue of partisanship. It makes sense that UC Irvine would want an accomplished, high-level, well-connected individual as their commencement speaker. There is no doubt that Barack Obama is an

When Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Steve Israel (N.Y.) was asked Sunday whether he thinks his Republican colleagues are racist, he responded with a frankness that is rare in politics and even less common when it comes to sensitive issues like race. "Not all of them, no, of course not," Israel said on CNN´s "State of the Union." "But to a significant extent, the Republican base does have elements that are animated by racism. And that´s unfortunate." Israel´s not the only high-ranking Democrat to advance some version of that argument recently. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that Republican reluctance

In 2009, in the earliest weeks of President Barack Obama‘s administration, the White House made the controversial decision to take the unprecedented step of moving the Census Bureau from control of the commerce secretary over to the White House ahead of the decennial 2010 census. Conservatives sounded alarm bells. “It takes something that is supposedly apolitical like the census, and gives it to a guy who is infamously political,” said Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT) of then White House Chief of Staff Rham Emanuel. “Requiring the Census director to report directly to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is a

Just in time for tax deadline day, a new Gallup poll finds that a majority of Americans -- 52 percent -- say they pay too much federal income tax, while 42 percent say they amount they pay is "about right." Three percent said their federal taxes are "too low." Gallup says the percentage who say their taxes are "too high" has hovered around 50 percent since 2003, although the current 52 percent is up from the 46 percent who said "too high" two years ago. While a slim majority of Americans say their federal tax burden is too high, roughly the

At this point it might take a dead body to get the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks to give the IRS-Tea Party scandal any sort of real coverage. Huge developments in the last week – like IRS official Lois Lerner receiving a criminal referral from the House Ways and Means Committee and e-mails proving she fed tax information on a targeted group to the staff of Rep. Elijah Cummings (D) – were completely censored by ABC and NBC news. Only a 90 second report on Thursday’s CBS This Morning kept last week’s revelations from being totally blacked out on

He’s not “unknown”, and he didn’t just pop up on the horizon. The alleged killer of three at the Overland Park (Kansas) Jewish Community Center and a nearby Jewish retirement home didn’t just “appear out of nowhere”; he’s a man who has been in the public eye before, right here in the Kansas City area and elsewhere, along with his foaming-at-the-mouth anti-Jewish and white supremacist views. The suspect, identified as Frazier Glenn Cross of Aurora, Missouri, is also known as Frazier Glenn Miller or simply Glenn Miller. As Glenn Miller, he ran for the U.S. Senate from Missouri in 2010.

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

When you mention the prospect of Clinton vs. Bush 2016 a funny thing happens. First, there is the reflexive response: "Oh no, not again. We don´t need more dynastic politics in this country." But upon further reflection, you realize Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton would be a great race and actually good for the country. Let´s review. QUALIFICATIONS—THEY’VE BOTH GOT THEM. President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of
