Helicopter Rescue for Stranded Antarctic
Ship on Hold for Better Weather

ABC News, by Gio Benitez*

An air rescue for the passengers aboard a research ship that has been trapped in Antarctic ice for a week will wait for a break in the weather to start airlifting people from the vessel, Australian maritime authorities say. The 74 scientists, tourists and crew aboard the Akademik Shokalskiy, a Russian-crewed research vessel touring the Antarctic, have been trapped in ice since Christmas Eve. A helicopter on board a Chinese icebreaker, the Snow Dragon, will be used to collect the passengers once there is a break in the weather, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said in a Monday night conference

They should hold the helicopter until they acknowledge they were wrong about the ice.

This is an example of rampant climate change. 100 years ago this portion of the Antarctic coast was ice free. Is Algore right?

This story just gets more hilarious as times goes on. A bunch of wealthy idiots with way more money than good sense stuck in the Antartic waiting for ice to melt that wasn´t supposed to be there.

Thurston Howell III and Lovey wouldn´t have been caught dead on that cruise...they were much smarter than these folks.

It is painfully obvious how ABC news, a member of the corrupt MSM, is calling the Left-Wing global warming activists on the ship merely "researchers" who were on a mission to "study" the Antarctic. No mention of the true mission of the ship was to prove "Global Warming" was real by showing how thin the Antarctic ice is. These rich Global warming activists all have egg on their face, but the MSM is trying to protect them. The only way we know what is really going on is to ignore the worthless MSM and read other online sources.

A couple of questions...How long was the entire trip supposed to last? Are they evac´ing now because it was the scheduled departure period? If they had enough supply for a longer scheduled stay why not maintain original sched.? Was this really just a short "Three Hour Tour" to garner press, never meant as a genuine Research study requiring set up, experimentation, data collection and analysis? A very expensive photo-op? "Law of the Sea" requires response to a "Vessel in distress" the owners/operators/contractors of that vessel are also required by Law to compensate responders for time, expense and loss of profit/industry. Who is getting the Bill? How much will it be? Will this bankrupt some Green Group or The Guardian? Lot´s more of this story to tell...

This situation has repercussions not being mentioned in the news at all.

The icebreakers that had to try to rescue these idiots were all on site for a reason: they were offloading REAL researchers and REAL equipment, which they had to interrupt to go take care of these whiny brats.

REAL researchers sometimes get only one shot at an Antarctic expedition, and their once-in-a-lifetime shot has been destroyed by the antics of these MORONS.

The joy-riders on the Akademik Shokalskiy need to be billed for all of the costs incurred in their rescue, including the lost research time of REAL researchers who gave up months of their lives to sit at McMurdo... without their equipment.

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

President Obama pulled a surprise move Monday at the White House’s Easter Prayer Breakfast when he selected Gene Robinson to lead the closing prayer. Robinson is famously known as the first openly gay Episcopal bishop. Talking Points Memo’s Tom Kludt spotted the following tweet from Robinson, who was in attendance: (Tweet) Robinson, 66, became diocesan bishop of New Hampshire in March 2004. He retired in January 2013 and is currently a senior fellow at the progressive
