In quest for Obama library,
Hawaii plays underdog

HONOLULU — On these sun-bathed shores, Barack Obama was born and spent his formative years, soaking in an island sensibility that his wife and friends say is indispensable to understanding who he is as president. Yet in the search for a home for his future presidential library, Hawaii has become the underdog, stuck in Chicago´s perpetual shadow. It´s not for lack of trying. A high-level campaign has been underway here since Obama won the Iowa caucuses in 2008 — before it was even clear he´d win his party´s nomination, much less the presidency. From the governor to the state´s congressional

First books in Obama library:

Rules for Radicals, Mein Kampf, anything by Karl Mark, Mad Magazine, Al Queda Journal, the Communist Manifesto, the Koran, Black Liberation Theological Studies, The Joy of Socialism, and of course Obama´s own memoirs on How I Shredded the Constitution.

An Obama library? When did Barry the liar care about reading anything except comic books and basketball books? When did Mooch and the surly girlies encounter, seek out, read, or inherit anything that would require housing in a library? This ugly family who lie and grift at will can do us a favor and just leave when it´s finally over and spare us any reminders anywhere that they ever even existed. What a glorious day to see them schlumping up the stairs of a plane for the last time to leave for good.

Hawaii? Chicago? This article makes no reference to Indonesia and the life of little Barry Soetero. I still contend that this president has never legally changed his name back to Barack Obama and that we are living with the fraud of President Soetero.

~~Hawaii´s development authority has set aside numerous parcels that could be given to the library or leased at nominal cost. The showpiece is an 8-acre plot of undeveloped land sandwiched between downtown Honolulu and the hopping Waikiki tourist zone.~~

Given? Par for the course for a dem....and, a bit further down:

~~Picturesque views aside, the plot sits in a gritty corner of Honolulu called Kakaako, where homeless encampments have cropped up on many sidewalks and methane exhaust pipes peek out from a landfill-turned-park.~~

Sounds Perfect!

It will be as flocked up as his healthcare program.

Will they blame the curator ???

Unless we see his credentials which unequivocally show he was born in Hawaii, I agree with #14 that the library should be in Jakarta or Nairobi, since he promoted himself as a man of the world before he decided to run for President.

I have my doubts that Barry was born in Hawaii. The speculation that he was born in British Columbia across from the Seattle area seemed likely to me. In 1961 a pregnant, unwed mother was an embarrassment to the girl´s family, and they would send the mother-to-be away until the baby was born. I think it is very likely that Stanley Ann was sent to British Columbia to give birth, where no one who mattered in the Dunham family and their friends would be any the wiser.

Stanley Ann was enrolled in classes at the University of Washington 15 days after Barrack´s birth. I don´t believe that she traveled 2000+ miles from Hawaii to attend college only 15 days after giving birth. So much about Barry Obama is a mystery - there isn´t anything about him that is inspiring, other than he can read a teleprompter really well.

The Obama administration is extending the agency review period for the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline, potentially delaying the decision until after the November elections -- sparing President Obama a tough political decision in the process. A senior State Department official said agencies have stopped crafting comments because a Nebraska Supreme Court decision could change the pipeline route and, ultimately, the environmental, socioeconomic and cultural factors that went into the environmental review. The official did not directly answer a question whether an altered pipeline route would require a new environmental review.

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already
