Thanks, Duck Dynasty, for the Christmas Gift
American Thinker, by Lloyd Marcus

Original Article

Duck Dynasty gave me an unexpected wonderful gift for Christmas: a renewed hope in America. Polling on various social issues confirm that liberals have made significant inroads towards secularizing America into a culture in which anything goes. The norm on TV is disrespectful kids scolding their parents, cussing, youths sleeping around, the promotion of homosexuality, and poking fun at Christians. Traditional principles and values are on the chopping block. Several months ago, I heard about this cable show, Duck Dynasty, that was kicking American Idol´s butt in the ratings on Wednesday nights. Since the recent controversy

I´ve never seen the show. I can barely tolerate the commercials.

But put me down for all the rest.

Take THAT, A&E.

Still not going to work.

Troll Alert.
We have a fraud in the WH thanks to the secular progressives and their storm troopers.
Who is Barry Dunham aka Barry Soetero aka Harrison J. Bounel aka Barack Hussein Obama?
Who foisted this creature upon America and the world and why?
The Robertsons are Christians and Americans.
Who is he?

Often the gift that means the most is one that is not found in a store--it is an expression of that which your soul has been aching for. And it arrives completely unanticipated, with perfect timing.

Those of us who live among, grew up with, or had the good fortune to cross paths with Robertson type people are better for it. We´ve learned life lessons from them that can never be taught by the self-appointed "experts", who recoil in loathing for such simple and honest Americans.

Merry Christmas to The Patriarch and his family, and THANK YOU.

Amen, Lloyd Marcus. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones and thank you for being in the forefront of showing that it is the honest, decent, caring content of the heart that has the power to unite us as un-hyphenated Americans.

I´m unashamedly sappy and old-fashioned too. Yes, "May God bless us, every one."

Right here: Perhaps Phil Robertson´s leadership will inspire more Americans to push-back against the tyranny of political correctness.

If you have not seen and heard the interview that Phil gave to Sports Spectrum, you can see it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_S1vaX-M

Please watch and listen --perhaps twice. Listen to the sub-text. There´s something happening. Phil Robertson said what he did to GQ for a reason. I´ve been watching this kerfufffle for days and I´m convinced that this is happening for a reason.

Phil was quoting scripture as best he could. Clearly he got the sense of it. People that have trouble with the Bible will probably not be thrilled with Duck Dynasty.

#2 this is the third thread in two days I´ve seen this same post. Quit with the ´I used to be a fan´ mantra and go back to the Huff Post.
Phil Robertson just might be the spark to ignite the push back against the left and all of it´s insults hurled at Christians and American values. Even our symbols come under attack on American soil. Our flag gets torn down because it ´offends´ some minority when it is tradition. I´m waiting for the left to demand the 4th of July be canceled.

I have never watched it.

I will only watch it if they change to another station.

I refuse to give A&E one rating. It won´t hurt the Robertson´s.

I hope they do leave and find another home. Perhaps the one who showed the story of the Bible, the highest rated program in recent history. Might be a smart move. There was something to he gleaned here. The nation was hungering for it, the film series of the Bible story proved it.

Traditional principles and values are on the chopping block.

Christmas is a good time to remind people that all of this was prophesied in Scripture. The destruction of morality and the people who call wrong things right is all there. No Christian should be surprised at what is happening.

The Good News is that we win, they lose.

God bless Phil Robertson and his entire family for their stand for Christ. He has started a firestorm across this country that the godless progressives may not be able to put out. Sometimes it takes one man to take a stand that gives others the courage to stand also. This incident serves as a reminder that we have not forgotten who we are and what we believe and our lifestyle is worth affirming. Thank you Phil and your entire family. You are the kick in the pants that America needed.

Merry Christmas to Ms. Lucianne, the staff and all my fellow LDotters! Although we probably will never meet, you are my cyber BFF´s who fill my heart with hope and laughter every single day of my life. Thank you and God bless you and all your families.

Lloyd Marcus: You are a fellow American from the America we all knew and loved...and an America that is re-awakening. God bless you, son.

To my fellow LDotters: A word of advice. #2 here is "hunting over bait," something Phil and the rest of the Robertson waterfowlers would never do. These types always jump in early on a thread and completely distract (and yes, enrage) us. The focus here should have been on Lloyd, Phil, Christmas and gifts. Instead, many of us took the bait and gave this poster a response...instead of a finger.

To Poster #2, sickened, (and the 7 Likers): May our loving God bless you and soften your heart. And, above all, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hate to give #2 the attention it seeks, but anyone with Christian faith places God at the center and forefront of our lives, not the selfishness of physical pleasure. ALL sin causes evil; ALL self-serving actions putting our desires over God´s plan of happiness for our humanity that He created will lead to our death. Homosexuality has no higher status over the other ways we manage to sin, it just gets more airplay as the sin ´du jour.

Love the sinner but hate the sin.

The Bible says in the ends times the scoffers and deviants will call evil good and sin acceptable. What Phil Robertson did was put words to what many of us know to be the true word of God.

It is wonderful to see the support and comments coming from the SILENT majority of Americans who are tired of being silenced by a growing minority of deviants.

Read the end of the Book, we do win. But the Bible does not say it is going to be easy. Courage is what we demonstrate in the face of great adversity. I pray those who are supporting Phil will remain convicted and STRONG as the battle continues to rage.

Blessed be the name of the Lord and those who stand with Him. Otherwise, He will say, :I never knew you."

What terrifies GLAAD and other leftist bullying organizations is that other actors/actresses/programs etc. will take the cues offered by Phil Robertson and Cracker Barrel. They really thought they were turning the corner when Cracker Barrel jumped on. But when Cracker Barrel jumped off, it struck terror into the leftist hate lobby.

"A retailer we really hate caved. We´re making some real progress now. We´ve got the situation under control and back on track...only a question of minutes before Phil and the whole Robertson clan caves...wait a minute...you say that Cracker Barrel reversed itself. And that Phil is standing by his original comments and reiterated his position? OMG! What do we do now?"

I´ve been reading around what the big left´s reaction is to all this and surprisingly they back the duckers. Not because they agree with them but because A&E knew what they were getting and should have stood behind them.

The left doesn´t mind this show being on anyway because they think it stereotypes the average republican and for sure southerner in this country.

Their humor is based on mockery and that´s conservatives favorite kind.

#2, you once again falsely clam: "Phil Robertson in 2010 on the subject of gay people: ´They´re full of murder,..."

I´ve already corrected your G*dd*mned lie on two previous occasions. You continue to claim that Phil´s comments are "on the subject of gay people..."

Once more, I point out that your repetition of the malicious media narrative is either misinformed or is itself malicious.

Phil spoke of "the unrighteous" in general, *and then* listed sodomites as *just one example* along with liars, envious, and heartless - and yes, murderers.

Furthermore, you failed to mention that Phil loves gays and warns them, in love, of a judgment to come. Phil clearly states that judgment of particular sinners is God´s work, not mankind´s.

As we all quack in with our "attaduck, Phil" comments, we need to keep in mind what is needed from this point forward. Namely, we can no longer sit politely and quietly as others question, ridicule, and demean our values. Rather, we need to stand up and personally speak out to defend those values and not acquiesce to the forced "thought normalization" of those practices we find contrary to those values, and under no circumstances accept the proselytizing of our children.

Don´t just defend Phil Robertson. BE Phil Robertson...at work, in your social circle, and especially in your family. Don´t be a chicken. Join the Duck Dynasty. Be a Duck Commander in your own pond. Clusterduck.

That has been running through my head recently, GLAAD and LGBT have made great strides in forcing their detractors to remain silent about any of their faults--and all humans have faults of one sort or another--but far too many decent, honest, Christian people who love all humanity and hope for the best have been forced to attend politically correct indoctrination sessions against their will.

In reference to the quote used by #2., as others have noted already, you´ve been busy copying and pasting this same charge on every thread applicable.
So allow me to repeat my previous suggestion to you from one such thread:
Take some time to refresh your memory and revisit the aftermath of the effects of the passing of Prop. 8 in California -- for one.
Generalizations don´t exist and don´t last without real foundation. And the foundation for this one is perverse as as all Hell

Stop breaking out store windows, sending death threats, threatening loss of livelihood, loss of property, bankruptcy, the destruction of others´ reputations through your own false values.
Stop demanding attention from our chiildren by forcing your dishonest portrayal and bent agenda into school curriculum.
Stop proselytizing.

Hollywood is on the brink of insolvency because of their deep embrace of voyeuristic violence and sex on screen and in real life. Their last financial refuge was international DVD sales, but even those are in the dumpster, so they´ve cut way back on paying the "stars" the money they need to live their much ballyhooed lifestyles, and most of them are turning to voice acting to make their rent payments.

Independent movies, on the other hand, have been doing quite well, especially those with an unabashed Christian message. Hollywood elitists must be seething wuth hatred for Christianity even more now than before. If you watch a good Christian movie, go out and buy it on DVD, and vote with your pocketbook.

I believe A&E started out to make fun of the rubes of America and picked on the Robertsons since they´re a "rags to rags" story, sort of like the Clampetts on the "Beverly Hillbillies." However, somewhere along the way, the NASCAR Americans began to identify with the values of this family and chose it over some of the trash TV on all cable and over the air broadcasting.

The homos of America may have just crossed the Rubicon and the war for civilization has begun. Thank you, Phil, for stating Truth.

It appears the second pits has been removed. Even the allusions to it are pretty bad. Thanks, Staff!

The exact words uttered by Phil Robertson are the same ones taught to children in sex ed classes where they call things by their correct names. If they are good enough for children of single digit age range, they can certainly be handled by a bunch of hissy-fit prone, so called adults. Unless, of course, those words condemn their militant actions.

This good man has caused a cultural shift so intense that I can feel it under my feet! Good and evil can simply not stand in the same place, so overcome this evil with your own good!

Thanks, Marcus. We´re with you on the traditional fare for Christmas viewing!

A&E ran with the show thinking it would draw a demographic similar to Honey Boo Boo and people would make like making fun of redneck, bible toting, duck shooting white trash millionaires. A&E was wrong and got caught with their hands in the cookie jar and it had almost a half-billion dollars in it. The US embraced the Robertson family, whether they watch the show or not. Any family that has a patriarch who looks to God for leadership, bathes every decision in prayer, and looks to the bible for decisions cannot be brought down by the likes of A&E. Papa Duck is no fool. He could have signed with Washington Redskins but decided to stay in Louisiana. He found a relationship with Jesus Christ and the rest is history.

Just ahead of a possible Hillary run for the presidency, the Clinton Library released a new load of documents from President Bill Clinton’s years in the White House. One of those documents attempts to explain Hillary´s "vast right-wing conspiracy" claim in which the Clinton administration accused Republican staffers of colluding with "extremists" on the Internet to hurt the Clintons. On January 27, 1998, Hillary Clinton appeared on NBC´s Today Show. As the nation awaits Hillary Clinton´s decision of whether or not she will run for president in 2016, a cache of 7,500 pages of newly released documents from Bill Clinton´s years in the White House show some familiar political themes. One revelation is that Bill Clinton worried that a massive new healthcare scheme would cause Americans to lose their insurance. In 1993, the President allowed his wife, first lady Hillary Clinton, to become the face of an Obamacare-like takeover of the nation´s healthcare system. The plan was sarcastically dubbed Hillarycare. But as these internal documents show, in what is now a

A new photo of a mysterious flying object over Kansas has been revealed. It appears to be the same aircraft as one that was snapped soaring over Texas last month. The exact identify of the aircraft remains a mystery, but rumours abound that it could be a secret jet. ´The photo is grainy because it was taken with a hand-held maxed-out 400mm telephoto lens through a cloud layer and then it was severely cropped to bring it up even close,´ says Jeff Templin, who took the photo on 16 April. ´There is no way to know the altitude and no way to judge its

Bush versus Clinton 2016: would a battle

Could the 2016 presidential election turn into a contest between a Bush and a Clinton? Political debate in America last week revolved around whether or not Jeb Bush, Florida´s former governor who is son or brother to two former US presidents – both named George – would jump into the 2016 battle for the Republican presidential nomination. For a nation that fought a war for independence from the hereditary power of the British Crown, in the person of another fellow named George, the concept of nominating a third Bush to run for the White House against a second Clinton (the former

"I´m over here!" shouts Kate Humble, and she of Springwatch and Lambing Live gambols towards me, closing the gate on a field of anxious goats and their Disney-cute babies. She´s carrying a bucket. "I was just about to muck out," she announces, and I´m reminded this is a working farm in the Wye Valley and in no way a TV set. The photographer has already done his work and gone. Apparently Humble had no idea he was coming. It is hard to think of another TV person on the planet for whom an impromptu photoshoot while wearing a well-loved fleece and

Alert shoppers are accustomed to watching food prices go up and down. But a string of forces—from droughts to diseases—is raising the cost of a trip to the grocery store at a rapid clip. And it looks like it will be a while before the price pressure eases. Some of that pressure is coming from California—the source of roughly half the nation´s fruits and vegetables—where a long-running drought is forcing farmers and ranchers to cut production. After the driest year on record, large sections of farmland are expected to lay fallow this year as the Golden State copes with an ongoing water

Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) on Friday called for a Senate hearing into the dispute between Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) over cattle grazing. Heller described as "patriots" the people who came armed to Bundy’s ranch after the BLM began to seize his cattle for refusing to pay grazing fees and fines that now total more than $1 million. Heller debated the ranch standoff on a Nevada television station with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who has called the armed Bundy supporters “domestic terrorists.” "What senator Reid may call domestic terrorists, I call patriots," Heller said.

If expanding the guest list to include Michelle Obama at graduation for high school students in the Kansas capital city means fewer seats for friends and family, some students and their parents would prefer the first lady not attend. A furor over what the Topeka school district considers an honor has erupted after plans were announced for Obama to address a combined graduation ceremony for five area high schools next month an 8,000-seat arena. For some, it was the prospect of a tight limit on the number of seats allotted to each graduate. For others, it was the notion that Obama´s speech,

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
