Paul Ryan Doubles Down on
Cutting Veteran Pensions

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Matthew Boyle

House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) has doubled down on his move to cut pensions for military veterans in a USA Today op-ed published Sunday.{SNIP} In fact, the deal raises the deficit by at least $15.5 billion because of a series of gimmicks that Ryan and Murray employed in the accounting of the deal -- namely, double counting of savings like the tactic which was employed in Obamacare, and the failure to include an estimate of the interest on the borrowed money for the first couple of years of increased spending. These are only a few among a

Comments:
Ryan and the Republican Establishment chose to lie to the American taxpayer in efforts to pass a spending bill that protects the defense industry´s profits at the detriment of current and future military veterans. The most hypocritical part of it is that they are using the same accounting gimmicks they are complaining President Obama used to mislead on Obamacare.

And your still a Republican because?

This traitor is finished. Their pensions are the ones that should be totally eliminated. In fact, members of congress should not get paid. They you can really call it "service".

I get what OP is saying, but I still can´t wrap my head around how "In-your-face" this is. I cannot fathom why Ryan would leave veterans out in the cold so harshly without even a peep as to why he his plan is like it is.

But, then again, the GOP is the master of losing the narrative, NOT controlling the message, and in general behaving like the DC swamp donkey´s they are.

Here in WA Patty Murray is always telling anyone who will listen that she´s a huge supporter of our military. Actions speak louder than words.

Both Ryan and Murray, plus the majority of Congress voted to keep letting illegals walk with more than $4 billion taxpayers´ money while they okayed to thumb their noses at a commitment they made to our military.

Obviously Ryan believes that veterans are easy pickings, but he forgets that a huge number of veterans used to vote for the Republicans and they may just stay home from now on, as it appears that both the Democrats and now the Republicans are out to screw them out of their already vested retirement benefits.

Hagel is a big time RINO and the fact that he was an army enlisted man back during the Vietnam era for a couple of years is now being used as political cover with Obama appointing him to his present job knowing that he would go along with the Democrats, and some Republicans, as they go about hollowing out the military and screwing the veterans anyway they can.

#7 I think stopping an already bloated and dangerously overspending government and the liars who are profiting from it is Breitbart´s agenda.

I know its mine. I was not lied to by democrats, they never pretended to be anything but big government tax and spenders.

Ryan and the Republican Establishment, on the other hand, are flat out lying to and attacking the very people who they pretended they were going to Washington D.C. to fight for.

The one thing all conservatives agree on contrary to the "purity" meme is cutting governments reckless spending that the taxpayer is forced to pay for. This simple ideal is being ignored by the Republican Establishment who only seem intent on cashing in on it, not fixing it like they have been promising for years.

Until that changes, it is pointless to enjoin the enemy. Conservatives are sick of climbing out of the trench and charging into no-mans land only to be machine-gunned down from behind by its own Republican Establishment "officers".

Its even worse now when those same "officers" are cutting deals with the enemy to not end the war or lessen its carnage, but to make sure it continues and gets even bloodier because they own the bullet factories.

If that is some nefarious "agenda", then you might as well call it a conspiracy to mutiny.

Got Tea?

Right, #13. When an otherwise good man does something wrong, we need to ask "why." The same was true of Chief Justice Roberts. The problem with the modern presidency is that we invest a man with powers that can easily be used to evil ends. Most presidents resist such temptation, but a man without a conscience, like Obama, just exploits it to full advantage.

Ryan isn´t a fool! Don´t be so quick to buy into all this garbage written. Remember that it is Obama who is firing all the high ranking military staff. Check on this and you´ll see that this is correct.

Also remember that it is the Democrats that have cut the financial support of the military.

Keep in mind that dealing with the Democrats isn´t easy. They complain that there is no cooperation but who is it that doesn´t budge on issues. It is the Senate.

Don´t go against our own so quickly. Look into the facts and try and put yourself in Ryan´s place working with the snobs of Washington.

This keeps being sold as some kind of "strategy" so that we have the ability to really get them next time! This has been the spin on countless other tactics. Only thing is, next time never comes! It is never the wrong time to do the right thing and the right thing now is to not support anything that spends one more dime! The government has more money now than God and squanders an untold part of that! Nothing justifies spending more especially when we have to borrow it! This agreement spends more! Enough is enough!

No conspiracy needed. Factual reporting of Mr. Ryan´s actions are sufficient. He is not comitted to conservative principles. He is not to be trusted by conservatives. He may be "conservative in his heart" like some other folks, but when your actions don´t add up to conservative results, you are only deceiving yourself. There is nothing immoral about not being conservative. It´s ok. Really. Please, however, do not call yourself a conservative when you are not. Please just admit it. Mr. Ryan should come to terms with his true political orientation.

By now most people are familiar with the potentially deadly situation emerging at the Bundy ranch in Nevada. Right now, the back-story is not nearly as important as the immediate necessity to de-escalate this life-and liberty threatening situation, although it does play an important role and must be addressed. The fact that this situation could have been pulled from the script of the 1974 movie Chinatown or any of the Godfather movies is well known and must be exposed, but not before immediate action is taken to assure the preservation of life and liberty. Two of Nevada’s top elected leaders are riding to the rescue of a rancher whose decades-long range war with the federal government has reached a boiling point in recent days. The federal Bureau of Land Management has surrounded the Clark County ranch of Cliven Bundy with armed officers, helicopters and four-wheel drive vehicles. Last week, they began seizing cattle found grazing on adjacent federal lands in violation of a law meant to protect an endangered desert tortoise. “No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans.”

Who throws a shoe? Honestly! That would be 36-year-old Alison Ernst of Phoenix, Arizona, who was charged Thursday night with disorderly conduct by the Las Vegas Police Department after allegedly throwing a shoe at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. According to NBC News, who spoke with a Secret Service official, the U.S. Attorney’s office has declined federal prosecution. Ernst was wearing shoes on Thursday night when she attended a speech Clinton was giving in Las Vegas, but apparently brought an extra one specifically to throw at the former secretary of state. The official said the incident appeared to be “premeditated.”

President Obama stood Friday with the Rev. Al Sharpton and accused Republicans of trying to keep millions of Americans from voting, in a fiery speech days after new revelations about Sharpton’s past as an FBI informant. “The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago,” Obama told the annual convention of Sharpton’s National Action Network in Manhattan. Obama’s appearance represented a presidential seal of approval of Sharpton’s role as a civil rights activist, amid the new revelations about how Sharpton used a wire to record

Nearly a year into the IRS scandal, we still don´t know exactly what happened—though we are finally getting an inkling. That´s thanks to the letter House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp sent this week to the Justice Department recommending a criminal probe of Lois Lerner. The average citizen might be dizzied by the torrent of confusing terms—BOLO lists, Tigta, 501(c)(4)—and the array of accusations that have made up this IRS investigation. Mr. Camp´s letter takes a step back to remind us why this matters, even as it provides compelling new information that goes to motive and method—and clarifies some of

As President Obama spoke of old "wounds” at Fort Hood this week, the White House declined a request from a survivor of the 2009 massacre there to meet with Obama for a few minutes so the veteran could explain face-to-face how he believes the government has mistreated and disrespected the victims of that attack. Staff Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford (ret.) was shot seven times in November 2009 when Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Hasan opened fire at Fort Hood, killing 13 people. Despite Hasan’s admission that he carried out the attack on behalf of the Taliban and revelations that he had been

STAMFORD, Conn. — Jeb Bush defended his controversial comments about immigration reform, insisting they were nothing new for him and urging “sensitivity to the immigrant experience.” At a Connecticut Republican party dinner Thursday night, the former Republican governor of Florida did not repeat his remarks from last weekend at his father’s presidential library, when he said that people who come to the United States illegally in search of a better life for their children “broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love.” This time the potential 2016 candidate put it differently. “To be young and

Coming clearly through the throbbing of helicopters and the roar of the SUVS of the feds harassing the Cliven Bundy Ranch, patriots there for Bundy should “tell it to the judge”. There is mainstream media-suppressed case history in Nevada the feds are desperately trying to keep under wraps. Chief Judge Robert C. Jones of the Federal District Court of Nevada smacked down high-handed, abusive feds, sending the pretend cowboys riding roughshod over Western ranchers and property owners back to their cobweb-laced offices in 2013. In spite of their 200 armed snipers with boy toys in tow, those Stetson-wearing feds hunkering down on Cliven
