Are we having fun yet? President Obama
takes the First Family to a Christmas

President Barack Obama and the vacationing first family skipped the beach in Hawaii on Sunday to take in a college basketball game. [Snip] The game held particular interest for the Obamas, as Oregon State is coached by Michelle´s brother, Craig Robinson, although at times the first lady and the girls didn´t look as excited to be watching the game as the president did. The president had every reason to smile as he received a much warmer welcome in his home state than he did the last time he took his family to a basketball game back in November. Then he

Wonder how many tagalongs got to go on the terrific exotic vacation paid for by you and me? 100? more? I really believe Obama loves sticking to the country´s taxpayers. Rumor has it that he loves "getting back" so this is for the hard working folks who can´t stand him.

Isn´t there an adviser who tells Michelle what is appropriate attire for every occasion where she is seen in public??????

I don´t think I have ever seen any First Lady in shorts. With Michelle´s below-the-waist proportions - large derriere and heavy thighs - the last thing she should wear in public is shorts, unless they are the longer Bermuda walking shorts. She could get by with what used to be called "pedal pushers", but knee-length culottes would be better for her.

As much as I resent paying for the Obama´s vacation, I do understand why they are in attendance at the basketball game. They are there to support Michelle´s brother and momma Robinson´s son. Since brother Craig´s Oregon State´s team just happens to be in the tournament there, it is proper for the Obamas to attend. They would probably be criticized by some people if they didn´t attend an important moment for Craig.

You can tell around his forhead and nose, where the photoshopper chopped him from another image. Was it really so bad that no one was seated, or willing, or allowed, to sit in front of them?

Just. Wow.

Good Lord. These pictures were snapped during the game. See where it says "Team Reserved" on the seats in front of the Obamas? They are in the first row behind the Oregon St team bench. Team bench seats are empty when players are on the court and then the players sit there when they are not playing. The orange shirt guys are players for heavens sake. You really think the players weren´t allowed to sit down on the bench? It was a darn live basketball game, probably televised on ESPN. You think the team sat elsewhere than on the bench and really were photo shopped in the picture? So where were they really sitting?

Reuters (posted at ABC News) has a different take on the crowd´s enthusiasm:

The Obamas, with daughters Malia, 15, and Sasha, 12, arrived at their courtside seats just before game-time to muted cheers from a crowd that filled about half of the 10,300-seat Stan Sheriff Center.

"Muted cheers". "About half" of arena? Maybe (generously) 5,000 people in attendance? Kinda like one of his political rallies.

The photos speak volumes:
1 MO and the girls were dressed nice when they were getting off AF1. Except MO´s sweater length needs some updating.
2After switching seats with BO at the Mandela funeral, why isn´t MO switching seats here so that BO isn´t sitting next to Titcomb?
3 AF1 landed at a Joint Base. (cute!)
4 BO is wearing a purple shirt. Is that because of his royal position (pun not intended)? It certainly doesn´t look presidential.
5. No one is eating healthy food.
6.Too bad that ´What Not To Wear´ (TV show) has ended. MO would be the perfect candidate for the show. The hosts of WNTW were big BO supporters. (I guess they didn´t do private consultations for proper clothing selection. MO and the girls certainly need it.)

It´s not standing up for them and certainly isn´t loyalty. When posts make totally idiotic statements it hurts all the legitimate things that can be said against Obama. Why do you think so many people laugh at conservatives and say they are a bunch of nuts? Because of things said that are so completely wacky they are ridiculous. Makes all the good arguments against what Obama is doing to be ignored.

1. The BBC knows it´s in trouble and is desperate to prove it still has meaning. The BBC did a good job last night, wheeling out its political big gun--David Dimbleby--to moderate in his arch, feline, Flashman-esque way, not showing any noticeable left-wing bias and following up with some integrated coverage from Paxo on BBC Newsnight. But gosh wasn´t the BBC eager to tell us how well it was doing? The BBC stands for everything Farage hates and no doubt cordially loathes Farage. Unfortunately, the way the political debate is changing, the BBC can no longer afford to marginalise its nemesis

An artist from Wales has become the latest face of the ‘NHS refugees’ forced to flee to England to get decent healthcare. Mariana Robinson, 60, has a life-threatening pancreatic condition and needs a biopsy before it can be diagnosed and the correct treatment given. [Snip] The Mail revealed two weeks ago that longer waiting times and poorer access to drugs mean thousands of Welsh patients are now flocking across the border to be treated in English hospitals. The number of Welsh cancer patients doing so has quadrupled from just 3,471 a decade ago to 15,450 last year.

Nigel Farage was tonight accused of being ´dangerous´ after admitting he ´admires´ Russian President Vladimir Putin and defending Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. Two snap polls showed the Ukip leader easily triumphed in the second live TV debate with Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg, in which he urged voters to join a ´People´s Army´ to topple the political establishment in Brussels. But Mr Farage was forced on to the defensive after claiming Assad did not use chemical weapons against the Syrian people. Mr Clegg condemned Mr Farage as ´dangerous´ and accused him of ´conning´ the British people.

In the nightmare world of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, three vast totalitarian states were permanently at war. Big Brother needed outside enemies to rally the masses behind his rule. As ever, real life suggests that Orwell was on to something: authoritarian states do seem more likely to go to war; democracies, by contrast, very rarely fight one another. The country which might have modelled itself on Orwell’s vision, North Korea, duly tells its people that they are permanently on the brink of war. Whenever the tension with South Korea eases, North Korea always turns the temperature back up again. Only

With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.

Portions of that excitable cohort are looking — some with fawn-like eyes filled with hurt, others with sparks shooting from eyes narrowed like gun slits — askance at other Republicans urging Jeb Bush to seek the 2016 presidential nomination. A candidacy by Florida’s former governor would be desirable. But if Republicans want to avoid intra-party carnage, they should be very careful about doing what The Post recently reported: “Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft
