Obama and the terrible,
horrible, no good, very bad year

New York Post, by John Podhoretz

Original Article

When Barack Obama sings “Auld Lang Syne” on New Year’s Eve, he will have reason to think back, with a deep sense of nostalgia and not a small amount of regret, on the last time he sang the song. If he gets a lump in his throat as he recollects that glorious night one year ago, who would blame him? After all, he was riding about as high as a man can ride on New Year’s Eve 2012. There he was, almost literally the master of the universe — the canny victor of the 2012 election, having run what was

Comments:
This is an outstanding article. It is rather lenghty but synopsises the disasters for 0bama in 2013. And he has no one to blame but himself.

I have no doubt that obama has absolved himself of all responsibility. He simply thinks that, unfortunately, most Americans are just too stupid to appreciate his brilliance. He is not the problem we are. He believes his own press circa Nov/2008.

As long as our President makes laws on the fly and ignores the Constitution he will be able to cause more problems, unfixable ones, than our country can deal with. He may have a horrible year but we will have a worse one.

Obama is a punk. He reads boringly from a teleprompter. He is not the issue. The problem is with the people in charge. Who are they and what do they have in store? Obama is simply a goof who finds ways to amuse himself. Who are the tyrants running the show? He cannot have a bad year since no events are attached to him personally. He is just a cypher who reads what is written for him. It is time to admonish those in charge.

This article lists 27 disastrous failures of the Obama administration any one of which would have certainly sunk a Republican presidency. We are all praying that our nation will survive this mess that Obama has inflicted on us and counting the days until the next presidential election. But, unless something is done to correct the abuses of the media, to give some semblance of fairness to our political system, we will certainly repeat the calamitous mistake of installing a totally incompetent, American hating Democrat in the White House

We have known for a long time that Obama is an utter and complete failure. Things just seemed to all catch up with him in 2013.

Still, that total meltdown did not prevent him from loading his extended family, president jarrett and the dogs on AA1 to enjoy a two week, multi-million dollar taxpayer-funded vacation in Hawaii. He admits no responsibility for any of his disaster of a presidency.

Like millions of wounded vets who fought for freedom, the dictators are now throwing citizens into a government dictated mess. Veterans must be given the right to choose their own individual medical service and it must be paid for by government. We citizens must be free to remain on the insurance programs of our choice.
Destroying all the good that exists is a crime, and the criminals are getting away with it right before our eyes.
It´s time for a full blast peaceful revolution.
Attack all the criminals who are never even criticized.

The article does a good job of laying out Obama´s failures in black and white. The question now is what can be done to stop this madness? Three more years of Obama and I am afraid there will be no fixing it. The confidence I have in the Republican Party is non-existent since they have shown themselves to be more than willing to go along with the status quo as evidenced in the latest budget deal and upcoming immigration legislation that will be introduced. God help us. The democrats are bent on the destruction of this country while far too many in the GOP are more than willing to enable them. The leadership of the GOP willingly believes the lies of the media and will not offer conservative solutions. However, the people know that the only way to save this country is to slay the big government beast but the progressive Republican leadership are too busy feeding it.

#13, I really do understand what you are talking about but I would like to ask a question of you. What legislation would the Republicans be able to get through with the likes of Harry Reid, Democrats, and Obama? Not much. They didn´t want to go into another shutdown because two shutdowns could jeopardize the 2014 elections. A whole lot to risk.

I´m really not into the "blame Republicans" mode because Obama has that territory. How about the people who sit home and won´t vote for a Republican because of this or that issue. That aids in Democrats winning elections. Republicans need EVERY VOTE in EVERY ELECTION.

Right now, all Republicans can do is limit the damage. I am, by far, supportive of the Tea Party efforts but I hope even they understand that we have to pick the correct battles to fight.

I want good leadership. A leadership that is humbled by the position. A leadership that is honest and not corrupt. A leadership that knows what America was built on and isn´t embarrassed by it. A leadership that wants to work hard and be savvy with the hard-earned money of Americans.

That leadership is not Obama. How can he have a good year when his policies are the opposite of good leadership?

Very interesting to see the list of 2013 failures. One HUGE failure left out was the Iran disaster! Not sure why that was overlooked?!?

Number 13, to answer your question... Nothing. We had our chance in 2012 and blew it. Nothing to do now but live through it and hope there is a nation left when Zero is done.

This country was nuts to elect him. His performance is exactly what I expected. Unfortunately we as a nation have to suffer this fool for another three long incompetent years. So far, no evidence that the President has signed the budget bill. It was passed Tuesday and media predicted a signing on Wednesday.

Then came the outrage that Veteran´s pensions were trashed. Then no further action.

Maybe it will be by robo-pen from the sunny shores of Hawaii.

Oh brother, Barack Obama´s 2013 does NOT come to an ignominious close; not in the least. He is still going to afterburn his tyranny onto the nation completely unabated, Obamacare will NEVER go away even if the GOP wins a veto proof majority in the Senate next year (and keeps the House), he will still get and take every free vacation he wants, he will still play golf while Rome burns, and his tyranny will accelerate unabated; all this regardless of his poll numbers. So ask the question. WHO DOES SUFFER A BAD YEAR? And who will continue to suffer worse years to come while Obama (and the GOP btw) couldn´t give a tinker´s dam? (Rio Lindans, it is NOT Obama)

Every year has been horrible. Now the LSM are starting to cover his incompetence and duplicity. Even some of the lo-fo´s are noticing. Bottom line: he´s never been competent and he´s never been truthful. Our hope now is to keep him from doing anything at all domestically and keeping him from further destroying things internationally.

If 0bama should look to Machiavelli, the Republicans contesting him should look to Tsun Zu. Know yourself and know your enemy - both tasks at which the Beltway RINOs are failing miserably.
Who is your enemy and why does he have a 52% approval in spite of mid boggling screw ups and failures?
Who are you and in spite of 2 out of 3 Americans identifying themselves as Conservative or Moderately Conservative, why do you keep losing elections and showdowns?
One can write a pithy tome here to address these questions. But suffice it to say the Bipartisan budget agreement and the impending immigration ´reform´ aka Amnesty
show a complete lack of understanding let alone (the ability to) control the situation.
Hint - watch what Ted Cruz does.

His (and the Democrat Machine´s) next moves will be interesting.

I will be watching for signs of slash and burn should his prospects of losing the Senate appear likely. It seems that the first move was seeing that the filibuster rule was scrapped.

I´m highly concerned about who else he will push into posts at DHS.
http://www.politico.com/story/2013/12/alejandro-mayorkas-department-of-homeland-security-101382.html

We know they are arming and we know they are exceeding their original mission. To me the DHS has the potential to morph even further to the dark side. Alarmingly, this Jeh Johnson character has pledged his allegiance to Obama.
http://www.examiner.com/article/homeland-security-secretary-nominee-pledges-loyalty-to-barack-obama

We also know that he will stack the courts with fellow believers. Good luck getting his edicts overturned.

Another MAJOR concern is his bringing in that "Center For American Progress" and "Open Society Foundations" flak to "advise" him for a year. I´m not at all certain that it was his call. Soros calls the shots at those two entities.

Yes, 2013 was bad for him but 2014 may be worse for us.

Thanks number 14 for putting the facts in prospective.

I believe most of us understand where we are as a nation and the most logical why we can begin digging our way out of this abyss we find ourselves...next years elections. The House is scared to death they will scew things up, again, as they know that if that do anything the msm can blame on them, true or false, it will be another field day for the liberals and the conservatives will be made to look like fools, yet once again.

However, they don´t need to ignore important issues like immigration. That issue is hugely important to conservatives, like me. If the socialist are perceived to win this issue, the media will do everything possible to make sure they do, some conservatives will throw in the towel. The power of the msm is truly powerful.

# 13: " The democrats are bent on the destruction of this country while far too many in the GOP are more than willing to enable them."

While I´m as unhappy as anyone you´ll find about the spineless behavior of the GOP, there appears to be something of a roadblock preventing them from getting legislation through.

According to the latest information I can find at The Hill: "10/5/10 - the House since January 2009 has passed 420 bills that have sat on the Senate shelf"

From September 2010 to 10/5/10 that number of stalled bills increased from 372. With Reid´s foot on them, I doubt that number has decreased in three years.

I´ve asked them if they have any updates.

Obama´s bad year is in direct correlation to the number of people in this country that have had a bad year, and he is the cause of those people having a bad year. Healthcare. The economy. Unemployment. Corrupt and oppressive government. Foreign policy that favors our enemies.

If he wants things to go better for himself, he should change his policies. He is too arrogant to change.

FTA: It is actually better (or less damaging) for Obama to look incompetent than for him to look purposeful. That’s one leadership device even Machiavelli didn’t foresee.

Obama has been playing dumb for years. But now that his policies have been revealed as a wrecking ball, playing dumb doesn´t work so well.

All of this dissecting and deep thought about the 5 year journey of Obama and especially the past year if you think he gives one thought to it you´re wrong.
Obama is a born Marxist communist and he doesn´t waste one brain cell from his low IQ brain regretting or thinking about it. The next three years will stack up on the last five to finish the nation off.
I might sound pessimistic but you all better know your enemies and we are up against a cabal of communist low lifes intent on the destruction of America and theft of taxpayer monies for themselves and their communist cronies.
This 17 day vacation and all the others the Obamas have taken is just the thumb in America´s eye. The communist love what they are doing to us.
I am more disappointed in the do nothing, go along to get along, Republicans who may not know it but they are helping the Communist cabal. I hate them more than Obama.

There is one action the House Republicans do take that, IMHO, help to spread the information about Obozo and what he has done and/or not done. What needs to be done is to file articles of impeachment. Let the House Judiciary Committee hold hearings and then have the entire House vote on them. If the House would do this, then the MSM would surely be forced to cover it. And in that way, the entire nation would come to realize just what Obozo has done to them and what is in store for their futures. Yes, Reid would most likely sit on it and never bring it to the floor of the Senate, but the damage done to Obozo would be done. And that just might shackle Obozo for the rest of his term. At least it should be tried. If the Republicans had any courage.

Of course the year numbered "2013" s.ucked.
Thirteen is often Bad News.
Look at Apollo 13... launched on April 13...
had an explosion on the way to the Moon...
the astronauts barely survived the return trip.
(What kind of Nut Organization numbers a mission "13"... ?
Hotels often do not have a 13th floor, ya know.)

But... for 2014... there is potentially great news.

Putin has made the positive gesture of releasing certain prisoners...
and luckily for us, thanks to Putin...

The 2014 Super Bowl Halftime entertainment will be performed by...
Wait for it...
P.ussy Riot.

So... we´re off to a great start... Right?
What could be better?
Cain´t hardly wait to see what else the New Year may offer.
What will Chairman Putin do next to save AmeriKa?
At least he´s a real commie dicktater....
Not a pathetic fake one... like our current bumbler... & bungler...
the Wannabe Kommie Dicktater.... No-Bomber.

The changes are intensifying speculation that Rubio – who many thought that former Massachusetts Gov. Publicly, Rubio, a Florida Republican, has said he has not yet decided whether to aim for the White House in two years, or whether he’ll seek re-election to the Senate. A recent survey of 148 insurance brokers shows that ObamaCare is sending premiums rising at the fastest clip in decades. "For the last, about, five years they´ve been doing this survey, so this was the largest percentage increase in any quarter since they´ve been doing (it)," says Scott Gottlieb of the American Enterprise Institute. "But at 12 percent, 11 percent increase on average across all the states -- that puts it at the upper end of any increase we´ve seen for decades." That is the national average in a survey done by Morgan Stanley. But in some states, it found rates are soaring. "There are specific states with exorbitant increases," says Gottlieb.

Google has acquired drone maker Titan Aerospace, the Wall Street Journal reports. Titan is a New Mexico-based company that makes high-flying solar powered drones. There´s no word on the price Google paid, but Facebook had been in talks to acquire the company earlier this year for a reported $60 million. Presumably, Google paid more than that to keep it away from Facebook. It sounds like Titan will work on a variety of projects for Google. Titan will be able to collect photos from around the planet from high up, which could help with Google Earth and Google Maps. It will also contribute to Google's Project Loon,

Glaring limits of the Civil Rights
Act: We need to redistribute wealth

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

4 killed, at least 36 wounded in weekend shootings During a 36-hour period over the weekend of April 11, 35 people were shot in Chicago, causing four fatalities in a city with some of the strictest gun control laws in the country. Chicago Police responded to 26 separate shooting incidents over the weekend, but over half the shootings occurred in only a 12-hour period on Saturday. Several of the incidents featured multiple shootings with multiple victims. Many were gang related. Chicago´s murder rate had been down over last year´s rates and some have errantly pegged the drop in murder rates to the fact that

Google has patented a smart contact lens that could see its Glass wearable computer fit inside a smart lens. The firm has already developed a contact lens for diabetics analyses their tears, warning them if their glucose levels are low. Now it has revealed plans for a lens with a camera built in - opening the possibility of its Glass system being shrunk down significantly, offering features such as ´superzoom´ to wearers and even helping the blind see. According to PatentBolt, the system could even be used to help the blind see. ´For example, a blind person wearing Google´s contact lens with a

Attorney General Eric Holder spoke out last week on his treatment by Congress, with the implication that it may have to do with his race. However, Holder cleared up to The Huffington Post that his comments were not about race, they were meant to reflect the current level of partisan “incivility” in Washington. The media buzzed for days about whether Holder played the race card, but the attorney general explained HuffPost last Friday, “I didn’t say there was a racial component. I was very careful not to say that.” When he was talking about his unfair treatment to Al Sharpton‘s National Action

On Monday, the guests on MSNBC’s The Ed Show responded to the members of Fox News Sunday‘s panel, which largely dismissed Attorney General Eric Holder‘s assertion that his race motivates his critics. MSNBC host Ed Schultz and Georgetown University Professor Michael Eric Dyson attacked the panel for lacking diversity and said that some of its members, and Fox News analyst Brit Hume specifically, were guilty of “race-baiting.” “So, the color of your skin will determine if you get disrespect or not?” Schultz asked. Dyson agreed. “When I looked around that table and saw the enormous diversity of both skin, and

On 60 Minutes Sunday, CBS aired an interview with President Obama about his impression of Pope Francis after he met with the Pontiff at the Vatican in March. “He’s a wonderful man. He projects the kind of humility and kindness that is consistent with my understanding, at least, of Jesus’ teachings,” Obama explained. Obama also praised the Pope’s simplicity and spirituality. “I suspect, my sense is, is that he’s a little bit uncomfortable with all the trappings of being Pope,” he said. “That’s not his style, and that is part of why I think he has been so embraced around

On Fox News Sunday, political analyst Brit Hume said that Eric Holder’s claim that his treatment at the hands of Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) at a House hearing this week was unprecedented toward an Attorney General, made him a “crybaby,” and that he and President Barack Obama had in fact benefited “enormously” from being the first African Americans in their respective positions. “This strikes me as kinda crybaby stuff from Holder,” Hume said. “My sense about this is both Eric Holder and Barack Obama have benefited politically enormously from the fact that they are African American and the first to

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

Let me obliterate a bit of confusion here: the Obama administration attempted to go to war with a rancher in Nevada. Let me amplify a little bit of truth: They tucked tail and have returned home. And let me add a bit of clarity: they had no choice! As the nation began to become familiar with the plight of the family of Cliven Bundy, many of us harkened back to another standoff in which the Federal government attempted to bully it´s outcome: Waco, Texas and the Branch Davidian massacre. It is telling that in the Nevada case the feds pulled out so

They’re both qualified, respectful of each other (shocker!), and represent the vast majority of middle America. So what’s not to like about another Clinton/Bush race for 2016? When you mention the prospect of Clinton vs. Bush 2016 a funny thing happens. First, there is the reflexive response: "Oh no, not again. We don´t need more dynastic politics in this country." But upon further reflection, you realize Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton would be a great race and actually good for the country. Let´s review. QUALIFICATIONS—THEY’VE BOTH GOT THEM. Barack Obama won the presidency because in an election where the premium was on change, it mattered little

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

Chelsea Clinton says when people ask her these days whether she wants to go into politics, her answer isn’t an automatic “no.” The 34-year-old former first daughter told Fast Company in an interview published Monday, “for so long the answer was just a visceral no. Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no." Now, the only child of former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explains, "I live in a city and a state and a country where I

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. Many Republicans are re-evaluating their strong stances on conservative social issues as public

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of

Some time back, whenever a big racial controversy erupted, I trained myself into the habit of reading about it at FoxNews.com, just for the unbelievable comment threads. Let’s put it this way: If my friends and I went out to a bar and started playing a “let’s write the racist FoxNews.com comment thread” drinking game, our efforts couldn’t begin to approach what I read there.I wasn’t alone. Liberal websites started feasting on these threads. And so, a couple of years ago, Ailes & Co. got wise. Stories about race were, at least in my disheartened experience, closed to comments.
