The Faithful Sheriffs
New York Sun, by Editorial

The refusal of sheriffs to enforce laws on gun control is at the top of page one of the New York Times this morning. Nice to see it there, as this is one of our favorite stories, trans-combining all the conflicting elements of federalism and constitutionalism. The Times focuses on the decision of the sheriff of Weld County, Colorado, to hang back from enforcing a law banning the possession, sale, or transfer of so-called large=capacity magazines. It describes the sheriff, John Cooke, holding up two magazines, one with a large capacity and the other not, and declaring that he can’t

What other FAITHFUL (to the constitution) will step in to stop the tyranny of this administration, of corrupt liberal judges, of lying and cheating politicians?

Where is one who has the backbone to do the right thing and opinion polls and party affiliation be damned?

To affect change, it can no longer be just a party of one like Mr. Cruz
He needs HELP!!!!
The others are not up for the fight.
Considering who Ted had to sit next to for 40 hours traveling to and from Africa, I know HE´S up for the challenge, but the others are just useless wimps.

Sheriffs live in the environment they are responsible for. They talk to citizens throughout the day. They have the "pulse" of the people.

What they don´t have is the unrealistic virus that affects so many that work inside the Washington, DC beltway.

What a heartwarming article. It made my day. Now we need some juries who refuse to convict those charged with violations of unconstitutional gun laws, in areas that don´t have such upstanding sheriffs.

One day, Mr. Obama woke up and decided he wouldn’t enforce it[DOMA] on the grounds that it was not constitutional. Eventually the question got to the Supreme Court and Mr. Obama won. Sometimes it turns out that the courts side with the officer who refused to enforce a law

But this Sheriff case hasn´t been brought to Court yet.

Let us pray.

I carry a bunch of Richard Mack´s (Founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association ----cspoa.org) books around with me, Primarily his "The County Sheriff-America´s Last Hope" and "The Proper Role of Law Enforcement" and I pass them out to any law enforcement type I have any interaction with.

And I mail a copy to every newly elected Sheriff in my county and the surrounding ones, and to every newly hired Police Chief in my nearby communities.

The books are on a pretty deep sale now, so if you like this idea, or just want to read a copy yourself, now is the time to act. You can order them at the CSPOA website.

I believe it has been one of my better investments, towards living free of tyranny.

All the Sheriffs I have sent them to are on the list of those who refuse to ignore the 2nd Amendment, and at least a few of the local cops seem to have taken the concepts to heart. Not many ´jackbooted thugs´ operating around here, (except for some of the feds and some of the state agency pseudo-law enforcers that like to throw their weight around).

The Sheriff is being supported in the showdown by hundreds of local armed citizens deputized at an emergency public meeting held earlier this morning.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, set today´s example of good citizenry.

More stories like these, less to no stories from Washington´s corruption are part of our recipe for recovery.

There are more good people, like 300 million, and only a few million bad people, all in Washington and New York media, don´t leave out a few bastions of state corruption
like Albany and sacraments.

The good people are winning despite the blinded, TV traitorous Diane Sawyers.

I´m with #18. Everyone should check out the website for Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association. See if your sheriff is a member, and if not make an appointment to talk to him about it.

All the sheriffs for the northern counties in California are members, including my own Sheriff Tom Alman of Mendocino County. Our local Tea Party group sponsored a panel discussion of five county sheriffs that also focused on property and water rights. Ask your sheriff about sponsoring a panel with his peers from neighboring counties.

Sheriffs are direct constitutional officers who are answerable only to the citizens of their county. They are our best and last defense.

As with Obamacare, this law was about making lawmakers and activists feel virtuous. Implementation was assumed. And as with Obamacare the law as written is impossible to implement. There is no way to tell a grandfathered magazine from a recently purchased one. Nor are many the prohibitions on transfer enforceable.

It seems a long time ago, that dreadful December night in 1988 when fire and aeroplane debris rained down on the Scottish village of Lockerbie. A generation of Britons has been born unaware of the sense of foreboding we all felt that night, when news broke that a civilian passenger flight had been blown up in mid-air, killing 270 people, by a terrorist bomb concealed in a radio cassette player. It is easy to see why a younger generation finds it hard to understand that we need to be wary of Iran and its nuclear ambitions. But, back in 1988, few

The United States, like almost all English-speaking countries, has a two-party political system. That means we have big-tent parties, with a variety of competing political strains under each of the two tents. On economic policy, President Obama has consistently and thoroughly followed just the opposite of everything Reagan did. And that is why he has consistently and thoroughly gotten the opposite of Reagan’s results. Reagan slashed tax rates, with the top income tax rate reduced from 70% when he entered office to 28% when he left. (Federal tax revenues doubled during the 1980s.) Early in his first year, Reagan led Congress to cut federal spending by nearly 5%. Early in his first year, Obama led Congress to enact nearly $1 trillion in utterly wasted “stimulus” spending. The Department of Energy has been reluctant and slow to approve permits for shipping natural gas overseas, for instance, which the market demands from the U.S. for the first time.
