On Monday, Variety reported that Fox News had once again dominated all comers I the annual ratings, not merely blowing out CNN, MSNBC and HLN, but drawing more viewers than the combined averages of the three other networks. Fox News averaged 1.774 million viewers in primetime; the other three averaged a combined 1.626 million viewers in primetime. Fox finished sixth among all basic cable companies. The addition of Megyn Kelly to primetime has been a boon for Roger Ailes and company, with Kelly up 23% in total viewers in the timeslot. No wonder CNN, which is struggling to outpace Headline

I don´t understand this. After all, CNN and MSNBC are objective news agencies whose honest, intelligent journalists are hard-hitting but fair, and really into things like helping people and income equality. While Fox News is just a bunch of greedy, idiot racists who wouldn´t appreciate socialism even if it was forced on them. I mean, how is this even a contest?

Who wants to watch a channel where the broadcasters are perpetually angry about something and never misses a chance to take a potshot at republicans? Not to mention praising Obama who most people consider a failure. These other channels are absolutely dug in to not become like Fox who they consider a bitter rival. Everytime you turn around there´s a shakeup at CNN or MSNBC and virtually nothing changes.

They sit there and put a smiley face on Obamacare when all the evidence shows it´s a calamity from hell and they have no guilt about lying about it.

There used to be two divisions in news, hard news and opinion. Now routine news stories are loaded with editorial comments. The reason is people don´t know what to think about something until the media tells them what to think.

Limbaugh calling the Pope out on capitalism has really created a firestorm and strange bedfellow. It´s pretty funny that the Vatican listens to Limbaugh or cares about what he says but they aren´t happy about his smackdown. The catholic Church being wealthy because of capitalism really has their tongue tied.

...it seems that CNN and MSNBC are imploding as FOX keeps moving ahead. Maybe it´s their attitude that FNC viewers are the uninformed "low-fo" types that actually watch their networks that are the problem...

...FOX may have it´s own shortcomings at times, but they have thrived by not becoming a propaganda tool for the leftist progressive lemmings that dominate the other networks...

...it´s taken some time to wake up the folks to the lies they´ve been fed, but as they do, they become quite aware of those who have been carrying the water. I really don´t know if they will be able to stop their slide to irrelevance...

One-Sided propaganda only appeals to select crowds. MSNBC and their ilk try to appeal exclusively to smug intellectual libtards, flaming homosexuals, racist minorities, and lazy ignorant human trash.

The only problem is that there is not much profit in it. The potential majority of their intended audience (Human Trash) spends the majority of their time partying on EBT cards, Obama phones, and lots of other free Government handouts. Watching a bunch of bottom feeders in suits, sitting around tables pontificating and spewing propaganda is far less interesting than Miley Cyrus prancing around a stage "twerking".

Only the choir of fanatics will tune in for their daily dose of hate.

FNC has it´s shortcomings, but at least makes an attempt to appeal viewers across all spectrums.

I guess this just goes to show what my ol´ Captain used to say - "There are only two types of people in the world... them that knows how to stay in the saddle and them that´s fallen off their horse."

Looks like there´s fewer folks around who fell off their ride and landed on their head than there are that still sit astride their mount and have their wits unscrambled.

(Reagan could ride and he was our last good president -... he woulda loved FOX... except for maybe that Geraldo fella and Juan Williams)

I’ve never been much of a cheerleader for Fox News. So often, in the past, they have deserted our cause at critical times. Some of them were:
-- In the early afternoon on voting day, when George W Bush was running against John Kerry, it was Fox News that began discussing John Kerry’s future cabinet based on fallacious exit polls. That early concession helped dissuade many Republicans from visiting the election booths.
-- Krauthammer’s absolute contempt for Sarah Palin helped in the media’s appalling onslaught against her.
-- Bret Baier’s fawning interview with Obama was followed by a hatchet job against Mitt Romney.

I understand that no organization is perfect, but Fox News seems to have a pattern of being our friend until the moment when friendship is important.

Fox does a good job of balancing liberals with true conservatives. My beef is that they continue their charade of trotting out blue dog democrats such as Karl Rove, Bret Hume, Carl Cameron and Charles Krauthammer and presenting them to their audience as conservatives while casting Tea Party folks as extremists.

Fox is in the tank with the RINOs. If a true conservative network arises, Fox will take a huge hit. What is the size of Rush´s audience versus Fox´s, hmmmmmmmmm?

Megyn has brought me back as a potential nightly viewer. I am so sick of the bumptious Bill O´Reilly, I could expectorate.
I think Sean is the most pure and consistent in his moral code of conservatism, but he is repetitive due to having too much radio air time and needing filler. He would do well to edit out many of his personal comments about staff, home, family...and stick to the news that interests his viewers. But he is the best at gathering a group on the evening show for a big discussion on a critical issue.
My favorite is Judge Jeanine on the weekends. She can deliver a karate chop to the knees with a smile.

Fox is the biggest cable news network and it´s all we´ve got. Megan, Brit, Krauthammer and Goldberg have been doing a good job with Obamacare. And Juan is always good for a couple of DVR replays.

From some posts, people here would let it die on the vine because they don´t like this or that.

With the exception of ´The 5´ the line up is better now than it has been.

Many people concentrate on FNC´s ´prime time´ personalities, deciphering everything they say for signs of anti-conservative views, then condemning all of Fox for leaning left. I know opinion is now bleeding more and more into the hard news but there´s still nowhere else to go for 90% honest news.

And....hardly ever acknowledged is the outstanding and totally unvarnished reporting done by both Katherine Herridge and Jennifer Griffin who work tirelessly to analyze what´s really going on behind the scenes on the secretive domestic and international security fronts.

Living in the People´s Republic of East Hampton NY, naturally we are Fox consumers. That said, we have been turning more and more to Glen Beck´s network, since in the morning Fox and Friends is basically unwatchable with that shrill Hasselbeck. Can´t they do something with her voice? Bring back the grown up Gretchen. And then whomever is producing that show, needs to go back to school. All of these "human" interest things, its more like that horrible Today Show. I love Sean, but Megyn is definitely a breath of fresh air. Love her. And of course O´Reilly is a pompous butt, funny sometimes, but pompous. But shaking up that line up was inspired. Still, great to see that Fox is kicking liberal butt.

And Megyn is dangerously formidable to lefties so as her popularity grows I´m looking for SNL to come up with a recurring Megyn character, a la Tina Fey. Then the take down will be in full swing.

President Obama on Friday said that Republicans were behind the biggest threat to voting rights in decades. “The principle of one person, one vote is the single greatest tool we have to redress an unjust status quo. You would think there would not be an argument about this anymore,” said Obama in an address to Rev. ORLAND, Calif.- It was a busload of opportunity: young, low-income, motivated students, destined to become the first in their families to go to college, journeying from the concrete sprawl of Los Angeles to a remote redwood campus 650 miles north. Those dreams shattered for some Thursday in an explosive freeway collision that left 10 dead - students, chaperones and both drivers - and dozens hospitalized. Desperate families awaited word about loved ones Friday, while investigators tried to figure out why a southbound FedEx big rig swerved across the grassy divide of California´s key artery before sideswiping a car and slamming into

President Reagan was holding a meeting in the Cabinet Room on March 25, 1985, when Press Secretary Larry Speakes came over to me, as communications director, with a concern. The White House was about to issue a statement on the killing of Major Arthur Nicholson, a U.S. army officer serving in East Germany. Maj. Nicholson had been shot in cold blood by a Russian soldier. Speakes thought the president´s statement, "This violence was unjustified," was weak. I agreed. We interrupted the president, who reread the statement, then said go ahead with it. A copy of Barack and Michelle Obama’s tax returns released Friday shows that the first couple gave only .3 percent of their income to their church in 2013. The Obamas made a total of $59,251 in charitable contributions in 2013 — 12.3 percent of their income — but most of the donations went to primarily secular organizations. From their adjusted gross income of $481,098, the president and first lady gave $1,500 to St. John’s Church, an Episcopalian parish near the White House where they occasionally attend services. Instead of getting to work on my own tax return, I´d rather look at President Barack Obama´s. So the White House did me a favor by releasing the 2013 joint federal income tax return of Barack and Michelle Obama Friday afternoon. That´s an effective tax rate of 20.4 percent. • The Obamas are due a tax refund of $19,108. What should they spend it on? • Besides his salary, Obama reported $104,809 in business income from book sales. That´s down

Following the massacre of grammar-school children in Newtown, Conn., in December 2012, high-powered weapons have been used to kill innocent victims in more senseless public incidents. Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators. Legislatures are in a far better position than judges to assess the

Big Government: As students flood Twitter with images of inedible slop, it´s clear that Michelle Obama´s government school lunch revamp is a costly failure. It´s time to get the feds out of kids´ lunch boxes. The $12 billion federal student lunch program, which serves 30.7 million kids, is losing participants fast — more than a million just last year, according to a recent Government Accountability Office report. The reason: the first lady´s Healthy Hunger-free Kids Act, an act that has accomplished exactly the opposite of what it claimed it would — leaving hungry, angry, disgusted kids and dumpsters full of wasted

Recently elected Democratic Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe is warning that global warming could raise sea levels high enough to flood the Hampton Roads region, home to the world´s largest naval base, without immediate and “smart decisions.” Addressing an environmental summit this week at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va., McAuliffe embraced climate change, blamed humans for causing it, and said action is needed now to protect Virginia´s coast from rising ocean levels that will result from global warming. “The first big decision of course is to accept that climate change is real,” he told the group. “I happen to believe in

Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle. Michael Parker and Flora Chang, at Sanford Bernstein, say we entering a new order of "global energy deflation" that must ineluctably erode the viability of oil, gas and the fossil fuel nexus over time.

Nearly a year into the IRS scandal, we still don´t know exactly what happened—though we are finally getting an inkling. That´s thanks to the letter House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp sent this week to the Justice Department recommending a criminal probe of Lois Lerner. The average citizen might be dizzied by the torrent of confusing terms—BOLO lists, Tigta, 501(c)(4)—and the array of accusations that have made up this IRS investigation. Mr. Camp´s letter takes a step back to remind us why this matters, even as it provides compelling new information that goes to motive and method—and clarifies some of

STAMFORD, Conn. — Jeb Bush defended his controversial comments about immigration reform, insisting they were nothing new for him and urging “sensitivity to the immigrant experience.” At a Connecticut Republican party dinner Thursday night, the former Republican governor of Florida did not repeat his remarks from last weekend at his father’s presidential library, when he said that people who come to the United States illegally in search of a better life for their children “broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love.” This time the potential 2016 candidate put it differently. “To be young and

The deportation of foreigners living illegally in the United States is similar to the forced internment of ethnic-Japanese Americans in World War II, according to Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. “I’ll be very honest with you: Looking at the numbers at some point, in terms of how people are treated and deported and families separated and the rest, this has a scent of Japanese internment,” Pelosi told a Politico reporter. “It’s really a black mark,” said Pelosi. Roughly 110,000 ethnic-Japanese immigrants and their American children were detained during World War II after Japan’s sneak attack on Americans in Pearl Harbor. Pelosi also urged Obama
