Obama greets leaders, including
Raul Castro, at Mandela memorial

Washington Post, by Terri Rupar

On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by

It galls me beyond words that half of the D.C. crowd is rushing to South Africa for this but didn´t even send an official representative to Lady Thatcher´s funeral.
Absolutely disgusting!

Dinesh D´Sousa nailed it in his movie 2016: Obama´s America, #3. Our Emperor has a "thing" against the British.

As to the handshake: from Hugo to Raul, you can judge the Emperor by the "friends" he keeps.

Disgusting to watch how the Mainstream media is circling the wagons around the sleazeball Obama´s trip to South Africa, telling us how the crowds are "cheering" Obama when he waives his hands and trying to connect him in some way to Mandela´s accomplishments.
Also the mainstream media is having a lovefest with Mandela. We are being told Mandela was a saint. Funny to see how they are using this to try to rehabilitate the disgraced serial liar and divider Obama. They extoll the virtues of Mandela being a uniter and having forgiveness, everything that disgusting snipe Obama ain´t. Remember the Mainstream media went along with all of Obama´s lies about healthcare. I hate the mainstream media with a passion. It is the lowest common denominator filled with snakes.

Can we stop with this one humanity thing? Just like those inane COEXIST bumper stickers - we are not all one people. We´re different by skin color, religion (that does not include islam), language, customs, etc.

And why any past American President (current one excluded because of who it is) would attend a funeral where the likes of Raul Castro is in attendance is offensive to every American loving patriot out there. Very disappointed that George W and Laura Bush are attending, but that former President club is very exclusive and one must keep up appearances. Shameful.

It´s what leftists do, they can´t help themselves. This past week-end our Ambassador to Japan, Caroline Kennedy, (who´s father, a Navy man, fought in the Pacific, had his boat rammed by a Japanese war ship and was seriously injured but yet was able to tow his men to safety) laid a wreath to those who died in Nagasaki. Not only that, but she did it two days after Pearl Harbor Day.

Every day is a new outrage with our pResident. I am so conflicted - my Christian faith says to forgive and not to judge others - to let God handle it. However, it´s difficult to just sit back and do nothing.

As both a former teacher and then as a manager of a national company for 30+ years I´m accustomed to solving problems, firing those who cause problems, and then to fix the problems caused by careless/incompetent employees, and to put in place safeguards to see that the problems don´t happen again. I´m having to learn to "let go and let God". He probably knows it´s hard for me, but I do see some evidence that prayers are being responded to.

There is much evidence that I am not alone in wanting to "fix" things. As a TEA Party member I see great hope: also it tickles my fancy to think I´m a little bit like the French underground after the Germans invaded the country. I always pictured myself as being part of an "American Resistance" if we ever were invaded by some regime. Well, I guess I might get that opportunity.

I wonder how many of the American leaders at the funeral know that Nelson Mandela disliked America while embracing socialism and communism...

A few of his quotes:

"If there is a country that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America."

"Communists have always played an active role in the fight by colonial countries for their freedom, because the short-term objects of Communism would always correspond with the long-term objects of freedom movements."

"I made a mistake by being ejected from the presidency. Next time, I will choose a Cabinet which will allow me to be President for life."

Nelson Mandela

I see little difference between him and Obama.

Agree, #16 - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2521146/Nelson-Mandela-memorial-service-World-leaders-gather-South-Africa-remember-president.html

From all of the over-coverage of the Nelson Mandela memorial, one would be reasonable to think that several additional stadia were hurriedly being built to hold all of the hordes of pilgrims from around the world making their way to the site. The reportage hinted that they were being beckoned there not only because of their affection for Nelson Mandela but by something additional – something akin to the Star of Bethlehem (but with Obama as the Star).

On a main media TV news site this morning, where the three anchors vied to outdo one another in their praise for both Mr. Mandela and President Obama, a guest, with his voice cracking with emotion, stated that President Obama, in his speech, ‘brought out the inner Mandela in all of us’ (Oh….. my….. gosh!!) – the three anchors, with downcast eyes, reverentially repeated the phrase in soft tones and murmured their agreement in unison, not once, not twice, but three times, and they were all still nodding and murmuring as the program was quickly turned off.

And only a single Senator in attendance.

Ted Cruz ? Yes.
Cruz is the only Senator who asked to go to the Mandela Memorial.

He is now even quoting the Pope since it appeared the Pope came out against Capitalism. The quote from the Pope is in doubt but that won´t stop Obama.

Nelson Mandela co-founded the militant Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) in 1961 in association with the South African Communist Party, leading a sabotage campaign, or as we call it today, terrorism, against the apartheid government. In 1962 he was arrested along with other terrorists in possession of tens of thousands of Soviet land mines, hand grenades and other military weaponry, which was planned for use in attacks against the government. He was convicted of conspiracy to overthrow the state, and sentenced to life imprisonment in the Rivonia Trial. He was also given an opportunity every year to be released from prison if he would simply renounce terrorism. He refused to do so and was happy to spend those years behind bars. So this is the Nelson Mandela main stream media does not want to portray and Obozo will not speak of. To them he was a freedom fighter, much like Ohmusbro’s fellow jihadists hard at work now doing acts of terrorism against the government.

I for one am happy to see that Cruz visited South Africa for the funeral of Mandela. It gives him a chance to see what years of Communist rule will do to a country, and the direction that this country is heading.

South Africa has a 40% unemployment rate (mostly all black) and the working black average pay is $2.50 a day. Another Communist nirvana. You know, that sounds just like Detroit.

On face book today, were pictures of the Obama´s attending funerals. Obama was sitting in an upper section talking to a young blond woman and a male he knew was on the other side. While they were all laughing and touching, Michelle was sitting in another section watching and if looks could kill....

The next picture Mooch was sitting closer and still having a sissy fit. The third picture she was sitting where the blond was and was still a sour puss. I guess that Tiger and Zero both prefer blondes...

Fears that high-speed traders have been rigging the U.S. stock market went mainstream last week thanks to allegations in a book by financial author Michael Lewis, but there may be a more serious threat to investors: the increasing amount of trading that happens outside of exchanges. Some former regulators and academics say so much trading is now happening away from exchanges that publicly quoted prices for stocks on exchanges may no longer properly reflect where the market is. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared Tuesday his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better´ in a Rose Garden press conference. But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.

"My face, in repose, is mean," he tells the Guardian´s photographer, apologetically, at the Manhattan photo studio where we meet. "I scare people. You know how some people have a built-in smile? I look like I´m going to eat children." Cranston, 58, is currently appearing on Broadway as Lyndon Johnson in All the Way, a three-hour play that taxes his vocal cords – on Mondays, when there´s no performance, he obeys a vow of silence.

Attorney General Eric Holder exploded at Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert during a House hearing Tuesday. In the midst of questions about the Justice Department’s failure to divulge documents about the Holy Land Foundation terror funding trial, Gohmert made a side comment about how the House of Representatives found Holder in contempt in 2012 for refusing to turn over documents related to the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal. “I realize that contempt is not a big deal to our attorney general, but it is important that we have proper oversight,” Gohmert said. “You don’t want to go there, buddy! Baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron compared Republicans that oppose President Barack Obama to the Ku Klux Klan. Speaking to USA Today Tuesday on the 40th anniversary of his then record-breaking 715th home run, the 80-year-old Aaron said that Republicans are hindering Obama’s job performance. “Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he’s treated,” Aaron told USA Today Sports.

A few weeks ago, the liberal comedian Bill Maher and conservative strategist and pundit Bill Kristol had a brief spat on Maher’s HBO show, putatively over what instigated the tea party but ultimately over the psychic wound that has divided red America and blue America in the Obama years. The rise of the tea party, explained Maher in a let’s-get-real moment, closing his eyes for a second the way one does when saying something everybody knows but nobody wants to say, “was about a black president.” Both Maher and Kristol carry themselves with a weary cynicism that allows them to

A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. There’s no way to reconcile that with RAND’s data. One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact. There’s a big spike in Medicaid, just as everyone expected. There’s a less big but

How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

As the House prepares for several key votes on former Internal Revenue Service employee Lois G. Lerner and potential legal action, analysts say she and her attorney have mishandled their case by picking and choosing when they want to talk, and to whom they are willing to talk. Ms. Lerner faces a vote in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Thursday that could begin the process of accusing her of contempt of Congress. The Ways and Means Committee announced that it will hold a vote Wednesday on whether to officially accuse Ms. Lerner of breaking the law by

Eric Holder ventured off script in a speech Wednesday to the National Action Network, the organization led by MSNBC host and recently-exposed FBI informant Al Sharpton. “I’m pleased to note that the last five years have been defined by significant strides and by lasting reforms,” said Holder at the conference of black activists, before improvising “even in the face, even in the face, of unprecedented, unwarranted, ugly, and divisive adversity.” “If you don’t believe that, if you look at the way, forget about me, forget about me, if you look at the way the attorney general of the United States was treated

A founding father of the conservative movement who is now a star among Tea Party activists is urging the GOP to choose a governor to duel Washington “insider” Hillary Clinton for the White House, saying that 2016 isn´t the best time for Sen. Ted Cruz to run. Often called the “funding father” of conservatism for pioneering direct mail fundraising, Richard A. Viguerie believes that the Texas senator is a “game changer” for the movement but that the best way to beat Clinton is with a candidate from outside the beltway. “I don´t think it would be best for the conservative movement for

As a former President of The Most Powerful Country In The World, George W Bush has significantly greater access to world leaders than most budding artists. (Snip) Art critics have pointed out that a number of the 30 portraits in the exhibition appear to be based on images thrown up by a cursory search of the person´s name in Google Images. In some cases the portrait seems to have been based on the very first image result on the search engine. Rather remarkably, even the portrait of his own father, someone who he surely could have asked to sit for him, appears to be based on an Associated Press portrait which appears on the first page of

My first published column was in a local paper opposing the Equal Rights Amendment for the same reasons that Phyllis Schlafly, a conservative lawyer, campaigned on. As ambiguously written, the ERA, would eliminate the men-only draft requirement, repeal protective laws like sexual assault and eliminate the tendency for mothers to obtain custody over their children in divorce cases. Ironically, one of the arguments that helped sink the amendment from ratification was the fear that single-sex bathrooms would no longer be permitted. In addition, opponents of the amendment also warned that it would lead to abortion on demand and same-sex marriages.

This morning I clicked on a link to a Red State website article concerning “The War on Women” and “Paycheck Equality” and got quite a surprise (the same thing happens when a Firefox user goes directly to the article). Nanny Firefox posted a political opinion on my screen before allowing me to proceed to read the article. This message didn’t appear when I accessed a second article which met with Firefox’s political commissar’s approval. Here’s what Firefox said: Careful Now! More than a hundred Republican Party elders gathered this weekend in Texas to celebrate George H.W. Bush’s legacy. But many of the event’s participants had another, much simpler agenda: launching a Jeb Bush presidential campaign. The two-day festivities featured a widely covered speech by Jeb. And on the sidelines, former Bush retainers were frank about their hopes that the eldest son could save a party the family has led on and off since 1988. “We have a responsibility to make sure Jeb runs,” said longtime Bush adviser Andy Card after the speech. “If Jeb Bush does not run, shame on us.” Card added,
