In contrast with Thatcher snub, Obama

President Barack Obama is bringing his family of aides and advisors down to South Africa for Nelson Mandela’s mass-media send-off. “For us it’s the President and the First Lady, the Attorney General [Eric Holder], Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett,” Ben Rhodes, the White House’ deputy national security advisor for strategic communications, told reporters during an impromptu press conference on Air Force One. Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry are staying behind, but former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was on board Air Force One as well. The memorial is expected to be attended by hundreds of world

Someone finally points out the snub of Thatcher. Wow. That quite a representation from the regime. Valerie Jarrett certainly is appearing front and center more often. How much is this costing us??

Margaret Thatcher was a White, Christian, woman. Mandela was a Black, communist man. That´s why they´re all going to HIS funeral.

The President and Vice President don´t ever travel to the same place and definitely not on the same plane ever...period.

If he was a statesman, he would attend the State funeral on the 15th. This is just another one of his photo-op junkets that we have gotten used to. He will reward his crew with an expense paid first-class trip and get maximum face time and probably tear-time. You can be sure it will be all about Obama with a Mandela sidebar.

Why would Obama attend a service for Prime Minister Thatcher?

She was a confident, competent world leader--and as such, he shares nothing with her.

He is more comfortable attending a service for someone of shared pigment, and who would remain in prison because he refused to denounce terrorism.

Margaret Thatcher was worthy of every accolade. As #3, rightly pointed out, Obama was unworthy of the honor of attending Lady Thatcher´s memorial. The two shared no common political philosophy. However, Obama is well suited for the Mandela memorial. Let´s count the number of "I´s, me´s, my´s" in the boy king´s speech. He never misses an opportunity to try and elevate himself above any occasion even during memorial comments. Maybe he´ll find someone in the crowd to whom he can give a "shout out".

I wonder how good the security is at a 95,000 seat stadium in SA. And who is running it, us or them? I´d hate for anything to happen to George and Laura.

Like them or not, putting this pack of liars on one plane, flying into one of the most dangerous areas in the world, to celebrate the death of a communist, sounds like reckless endangerment, reminds of the Ron Brown crash in France, where all passengers were killed just to knock off Ron, and the French control tower operator who steered them into the cliff, was murdered the very next day. The plane ride to hell.

I had an early dental appointment this morning so I usually miss the early morning news shows. They had the rodeo O´Clown speaking at the Mandela celebration/funeral. My better half who can´t stand Odumbo just like me turned the TV to the Mickey Mouse Club House. Old Mickey was talking to Goofy and I told my wife that she should´ve just left the other channel on because there is no difference between this goofy fool and Goofy from Disney. I and my fellow L-Dotters know that the Iron Lady Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher had more strength of character than Mandela and especially Odimwit put together. It would have seem hollow for him to stink up her memorial with his odious presence but I know he and his Klingon War Bride are right at home in good old AFreak-a. Also I´m not a conspiracy buff but I like #15´s line about Ron Brown. It´s still to this day fishy about what happened to him and the French air traffic controller. The Clintons stink almost as bad as the Obummers. The Bushes must have the patience of saints to ride along with the likes of them and that old doofus Carter.
