What if It’s All True?
PJ Media, by Roger L.Simon

Original Article

I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal

Another brilliant connect-the-dots Must Read from Roger Simon.

"These totalitarian...states depend on lies for their existence. In Obama they have found a partner in crime, a semblable, as Baudelaire would say. They are currently exploiting this."

"..in the wake of the serial lies about Obamacare, Benghazi, the IRS, Fast and Furious, media surveillance, the NSA, Syria, Iran, etc., etc., I’m now prepared to believe many things of which I might initially have been at least somewhat skeptical."

"...Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal he received financial preferences, scholarships and/or loans, as a foreign student."

"Great damage has been done."

How very different clear thinking is from the sycophant, blathering cover-ups of the MSM...

Exceptional article by Mr. Roger L. Simon – a Must Read, if possible.

FTA: “Around Obama there is an unprecedented silence, almost a media omertà.”

The entire article is reflective, disquieting, and stunning.

Well duh? Ya think? There´s no new information here. This stuff about Barry Soetoro has been around since before his first election. It was actually the Clinton campaign that started it. It just got no traction with the fawning liberal media. What´s news here is that there has been another convert.

An omertà indeed. A conspiracy or code of absolute silence to protect criminal activity. And the degree to which it´s been observed nationally is stunning. A complete disinterest in discovering the truth, and even worse, the ridiculing or ostracizing of anyone (like Corsi and Cashill) who dare reveal the truth.

This omertà will be studied for decades as a mass phenomenon...after Obama is out of office. And the focus of the study will be on the massive white guilt origin that made it impossible to speak truthfully about Obama.

Personally, I find the continued white guilt in America so pervasive and so potentially damaging as evidenced by the Obama presidency that I will find it extremely difficult to seriously consider any black candidate for the presidency again in the foreseeable future. And I don´t care if you call me racist, because you won´t be able to call me stupid.

I don´t believe the media ever really believed the Obama story. They saw an opportunity to elect a far left candidate who would be protected from criticism by his race and they went for it in a big way. It is far too late for them to claim to see the light. They are poised to do the same favor for Hillary. This time it will be ´sexism´.

Who is this...?

The self-taught Marxist recognized the moral corrosion of state socialism.

”I was the really naïve American who believed in communism."

Returning to the United States, his bid for selfhood having failed, he was more adrift than ever.

He voiced no interest in religion and appeared to have no spiritual aspect.

He recognized the problem: his father’s premature death left him with a mean streak.

Never has one man’s search for identity and community had such a profound impact on so many others.

Who is this? Lee Harvey Oswald, profiled by James Rosen “Camelot Revisited,” National Review, 25 November 2013

But this list could also have been referring to our Dictator-in-Chief!!!

I believe I read an article posted here that said that D.C. was the gayest city or something; I think there is a strong gay lobby in the media which also prevents the truth to be told, and that lobby effects a lot of reporting in many subjects.

#9 Great post but first if he leaves office. Secondly you are right about how pervasive white guilt is in this country. I personally don´t have any but if you read the comments following NYT or Wash Post articles about obama the fawning over him, he has done nothing wrong, how evil Bush and Cheney are how they need to be executed for war crimes. These are mostly white educated leftists who have tremendous guilt for being white and are full of hatred for other whites and this country. It´s very disturbing how visceral their hatred is for the rich, the Tea Party and any Republican.

But the LSM was more than willing...giddy, to dig through Sarah Palin´s garbage for dirt on her. The legacy of slavery and white guilt have done serious damege to this country and Obama and his cronies can´t leave the scene soon enough.

FTA: Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal he received financial preferences, scholarships and/or loans, as a foreign student.

I appreciate the fact that eventually these "intellectuals" --Simon, Noonan, Krauthammer, et al, finally connect the dots -- late, but at least they get there. You know that these folks have far more inroads and access into the "truth" than any of us here do, and yet they just can not bring themselves to accept what´s screaming the truth right at them. Is it that they do not want to believe it, or --OR--do they believe it, just like we do, but they are AFRAID [for any number of reasons] to admit that they believe it and thus write about it?

What more did anyone with two brain cells to rub together need to know about the Mulatto Communist after they saw the video of Rev. Wright standing in the pulpit, asking God to damn America, not bless Her, and know that the Mulatto sat for 20+ years in that church?

What more did anyone need to know?

Quite frankly, I´m getting a little tired of the likes of Simon and Krauthammer, 5/6 years after the fact, coming forward and saying, "Oh, I get it now."

Really?

To use Obama wording, "I profiled him long before 2008" and he didn´t fool me. Race was not a factor but now it is. Race is what lends itself to Obama´s success though it be destructive.
On the theory of conspiracy do you think the Russians are complicit? First there was Oswald and now a mirror image of him with Obama. Communist roots?
We may never know this early in time but proof of all Mr. Simon has mentioned will come to pass.
All I can say to Mr. Simon is get in the closet with Charles Krauthammer because both of you with a million others took the bait of the first ´black experiment´. I believe both of you would vote for him a third time because Republicans are evil and communist democrats are not.
Stupid people do stupid things.

Most of us here knew what Obama was way back before the 2008 election.

I venture to say that even if I thought that everything Obama told us about his background, from his birth in Hawaii to his school records to his book authorship, I still would not have considered him a viable candidate for president.

The reason for that is his divisiveness, his socialist politics, his America-hating, and that he is, as Rush Limbaugh said, cold.

This is an important reflection. We should do our level best to influence others to reduce the probability of electing another popular myth rather than a responsible capable custodian of our presidency.

Now that we have evidence of grand scale deception do we not owe it to the future of the country to explore the extent of deception? Not for retribution but to point to the need to listen to the words and pay attention to the past deeds of future candidates.

Take the simple association with Jeremiah Wright; never knew he was supporting black liberation theology? Association with Bill Ayers, so much more. Can we stop ridiculing "birthers" yet? Just because it may be the most outrageous claim doesn´t make it wrong.

You can´t elect a disciple of Saul Alinsky and then be shocked that they would circumvent due process to achieve an end.

If you like your presidential lies you can keep your presidential lies, but let´s not.

I´m thankful a man like Simon has written this. It makes those of us who have had deep suspicions about Obama feel a little more legitimate. So many things about Obama have led me to believe I cannot trust him, or believe what he´s said about his past, his friends, his ideals or even his heroes.

I never dreamed, until now, one man could wield so much power in America. It had seemed inconceivable before because our three branches of government are there - supposedly - to provide checks and balances. What has happened, as this president has seemingly sailed through his overreaching agenda, is frightening and dismaying.

I´m frustrated and feel like screaming from the hilltops….."Please, for God´s sake, somebody do something, before it´s too late!"

Thanks, Roger, for fessing up. Not many Obamaphiles will do that.

It is intellectually dishonest to know something which is critical to our country´s well-being is false, to be in a position to demonstrate that it is false, then to do nothing. At least Roger is doing something.

Now we just need the deluded egomaniacs in the media and the Democrats in Congress (redundant, I know) to also man up and get real.

It´s just our country´s future after all.

What still puzzles me is how anyone can look at what has happened to America since Obama took office and still support him. What must such a mind be filled with? Air?

Those who sniff at Roger L. Simon (not the other Roger Simon at Politico) are showing their own ignorance.

His not buying into conspiracy theories does not make him somehow deficient. Many of us see them bandied about on internet forums (including this one) regardless of the subject. There is always something sinister in there! Not.

And sometimes zealots (like Corsi) come across as nuts. Simon has simply begun to believe that Corsi is not a nut.

I would like to see better-informed LDotters. We have heavy lifting to do to get this country back on the right course. Being screwballs ourselves and denigrating persons who have proven they are not screwballs is not the way to go. Inspires no confidence.

The evidence is building. Every American with any awareness of current events now knows that Obama lies all the time. Period. Why wouldn´t he have lied about his past as well? He says whatever will advance his prospects at the moment, and the MSM covers for him.

L-Dotters have known this all along. But when we post our thoughts, clicking the submit button does not come with the threat of an audit by the IRS. For people like Roger L. Simon and Peggy Noonan, it does. The fact that they are starting to state the truth in public lets us know the danger our country is in.

I grew up with a con-artist father; a man who lived by lies and deceit. We were not exactly a "Paper Moon" relationship. But, he was a master at the game. I recognize con-artists and liars almost immediately. They all have a way of avoiding your eyes when they lie to you. A good con-man knows this and works hard at peering deeply into your eyes quite deliberately when he lies- I cite Adolph Hitler, but he was exceptionally traied in the art.

Yes! Absolutely, Øbama is a fraud- a fantastic charlatan. A man so infused with lies he really can do nothing else. He lays awake at night in worry over them- keeping them straight, making sure he deeply buries the truth and reinforces his fantasy world.

Now, our Øbama problem is summed up in two words: So what? He is much like a murderer found "Not guilty"- outside the courtroom he can openly declare, "Yes! I really did it!" and walk on.

Øbama is our President now- by Law! He will never be impeached, no matter how much truth comes out about him now. He must run out his course and do the damage we set him to do. Our media, our electorate embraced him, and that means his lies and lies and lies- all in one package.

So what? He’s the President now!

Charles Krauthammer warned us before the 2008 election that we didn´t know enough about Obama and that we would regret his election.

http://townhall.com/columnists/charleskrauthammer/2008/02/15/obama,_the_platitude_salesman

The Audacity of Selling Hope
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/14/AR2008021403105.html

From the latter article:

Democrats are worried that the Obama spell will break between the time of his nomination and the time of the election, and deny them the White House. My guess is that he can maintain the spell just past Inauguration Day. After which will come the awakening. It will be rude.

I hate it when zero is lecturing us and he says "we" as in "this is not who we are". Who is WE? He isn´t one of us.

Every time he goes into this mode he is preparing to tell us what he, the divine zero, thinks we should be since in his view "we" have never been good enough as we are.

He belongs in Cuba - then maybe he´d find his "we".

What Simon writes is not anything new to LDotters. We have long suspected Obama to be fraud in multifarious ways. We also suspect that America´s enemies possess information on him that could end his presidency in one ignominious day, but are holding it in abeyance as long as he´s being cooperative in doing what they want. They have him over the barrel and under control, ensuring that he will act in ways injurious to the interests of the Nation. The moment he goes straight, the show will be over. That´s why he can´t do that.

The Democrats who established the Legend and cheated him into office are complicit, and will share in his eventual fate. The only question is how long they can continue to support the Narrative. Rather than watch the Party go down, they might decide that their "bought" Clown Prince can be sacrificed instead. Better him than them. We are seeing disquieting (to Democrats) signs that erstwhile supporters who are starting to recognize a bald-faced liar when they see one are peeling away. That´s what will do him in. When he--possibly the greatest fraud in history--falls, he´ll break like a crystal wine goblet on a tile floor.

So, this author essentially is saying that he keeps his head well into the sand, reads nothing that smacks of "conspiracy", trusts the world and our leaders to always do the right and intelligent thing and...given his position of some influence, has therefore done great damage to America.

And like all LoFo´s, he doesn´t even see it, and wouldn´t admit it if he did.

I have reviewed and studied a number of conspiracy theories...and eventually enough information that makes sense becomes accessible...often enough to decide which conspiracy theories have some merit and which do not.

Most L.Dotters do the same thing.

Obama was raised a Muslim in Indonesia by Lolo Soetoro. Those are the most formative years for a person. Rejected by his mother went to live with his Commie Grandparents under the influence of Marshall Davis a true Communist. Then studied to become a Saul Alinsky Community Agitator. Definitely not one of US.

The only way that barry soetoro obama is not lying is if his brain has been so addled and eaten up by his drug use that he genuinely can´t remember most of his life.

It´s your guess as to what serious deficiencies he suffers from. Either way, the democrats stuck us with a real turkey and probable time bomb.

All countries have gathered intelligence on Obama before he was president. They all knew the United States was in error with Obama and they
prayed (to something other than God) that we would elect him.

We can still demonstrate to the world that our Constitution still has power
by forcibly removing our mistake.

Since college and university records are kept on computers, why doesn´t someone who is capable, hack into Harvard´s computers and retrieve Obozo´s records? After, the State Dept. and DOD computers have been hacked and I don´t think that Harvard´s system is as secure that those. Yes, I know that doing that is illegal, but we need some sunshine on the subject(s).

Thirty seconds on the Dreams from My Real Father website, with the photos of his real father, Frank Marshall Davis, side-by-side with the president´s, would explain clearly how a person could lie so effortlessly about everything and anything.

Barack Sr. was a dupe dad--duh!

Look at them--father/son spitting images!--and pass along to all of your contacts, before a foreign source does same.

What Dr. K said in 2008 is quite immaterial. 2005 is a whole other thing

During 0bama’s first run, in Roundtable discussions on the Hume Report, Charles Krauthammer said –and he said it more than once, that 0bama would run from the Left and once elected, govern from the center, and that America had nothing to fear from an 0bama presidency. He said it!

In the one hour interview that Brett Baier did with Charles Krauthammer for the roll-out of his book, Things That Matter, Dr. K said that 0bama was five weeks into his presidency before he [Dr. K] understood that 0bama is a Socialist.

Apparently, Dr. K slept through the campaign. Missed the Joe the Plumber interview completely.

For the record, I have NOT confused the “two Simons.” Am I sniffing at Roger L. Simon because he is just now “connecting the dots” regarding 0bama’s academic history? Yes. I am.

10/4 on that smelling the coffee thing, Roger.

Signed: Screwball

My point is, I never cease to be frustrated when people I admire for their "smarts," seem to miss the obvious. I feel the same frustration with a teenage grandson who can´t find his toothbrush on the bathroom counter.

The obvious advantage of impeachment hearings is the subpoena powers of
a congressional committee. We can demand the college transcripts and open
the State of Hawaii records that we´ve been denied.

O-Bomber is a fraud.
This writer suggests ongoing blackmail by foreign powers who have compromised
our crooked POS POTUS for their own obvious advantage.

This is truly a national security matter, and O-Bomber could and should be
removed forthwith as a danger to the state if sufficient proof emerges.

And you might be very surprised to find out that it could well happen.
Would that be good for the body politic?
It´ll be like lancing a boil.

Long overdue to save the patient, btw.
Remove the parasite, O-Bomber, and save the host.... that be US.

A lot of posters scorch Dr K for not recognizing Obama´s potential for disaster ,
but, they continue to give Limbaugh a pass for telling Howard Kurtz
in an interview with the WaPo in 2008, that
if McCain was the Republican nominee, he hoped Obama or Hillary would win the election.
Feb 5, 2008 " Limbaugh on McCain: I´d Rather Be Right All The Time " by Howard Kurtz.
We all knew who Obama was in early 2008 , it´s inexplicable why Limbaugh would make such an idiotic statement.
" Rush Limbaugh has been relentless in his criticism of John McCain, prompting suggestions
that he may have to soften his stance if the Arizona senator wins the nomination and faces off against Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.
But if that happens, Limbaugh said in an interview over the weekend,
he would rather see the Democrats
win the White House."
"If I believe the country will suffer with either Hillary, Obama or McCain, I would just as soon the Democrats take the hit . . . rather than a Republican causing the debacle," he said.
Dr K never hoped that Obama would win the election like Limbaugh did.

I did not know that about 2008, #57. I do know that Rush Limbaugh implied over and over that Mitt Romney wasn´t the nominee to support in 2012, only at the last minute and in response to heavy criticism from his listeners, giving a tepid endorsement. I blame Limbaugh for encouraging his listeners to either stay home or do a write-in in 2012. Who knows how badly the campaign was hurt.

What If It´s All True?

I can´t count the times I´ve posted here words to the effect of "Why would ´Barack Obama´ hide such basic information if it didn´t contain devastating revelations directly affecting his right to be president?"
To be blunt, I don´t understand why it took Mr Simon so long to ask that same question. I thought every journalism story was supposed to cover who, what, when, why, where, and how. Not once, ever, has this information about Barry Soetoro been answered. Not once. How could you NOT ask, "What if it´s all true?"

I´m thinking that most of these journos who seem to be "late to the party" are not that at all. The law of averages dictates that many of them realized just like we did what we were getting into. I would blame fear. They were afraid to get out there on that limb and state their opinion of a wildly popular folk hero. Now that obummer has taken the plunge from grace and popularity, it´s easy to bash him and not have to take shots from the entire liberal establishment, much like Sarah Palin did for speaking the obvious truth.

The problem is not slow uptake, it´s journalistic courage; most of them have none.

"The end justifies the means" is the justification that will be used by the press that participated in this ruse. They knew, they hid, they joined forces, they did not serve the purpose of a free press as intended by our Constitution.

And the other two branches who were intended to balance the grab for power by the executive branch are doing the same thing to our country in exchange for more power as the "ruling class" that knows best.
We have to fight just as hard to keep a free country as they did to get one.

There is no doubt in my military mind that the Israelis and the Russians have the real story on Obama´s origins. They would have to. Their respective intelligence services are equal if not better than our own. Obama is a compromised president who cannot act without fear of exposure. The Israelis haven´t done it yet because America is their lifeline. Without our aid and support they likely would be adrift. So they keep the faith. Not so the Russians. They have Obama´s number. They know where he was born and they have his grades on file. To all practical purposes Obama is their agent in place. He might not be actively controlled by Moscow but he is a fellow traveler who the Russians recognize can advance their global objectives. And so we have the removal of the missile sites in Poland, the retreat from the Syrian conflict, the apparent rapprochement with Iran. Do not forget Iran has been in the sphere of influence of Russia over one hundred years. Iran is Russia´s southern buffer and petroleum reserve. Everything that Obama is doing could be orchestrated by the Russian intelligence service. He is their agent of influence just like Alger Hiss was in the State Dep´t 50 years ago. There will eventually be exposure of all this but not likely in this generation´s lifetime.

For over five years some of us have been saying Obama is a fraud.

We were consistently ridiculed, called horrible names just for questioning his credentials. And that includes being ridiculed here at Lucianne.com.

SHAME on all these people. I have to wonder if they too, in addition to the usual-suspect Democrats, were afraid to confront their suspicions to avoid the uncomfortable fear of being "racist".

L Dotters have known from the get go that Obama was and is a fraud - we do not suffer from "white guilt" because we knew there were many better qualified black men/women with excellent credentials for administrative effectiveness. I think back to the missing 900 FBI files that eventually showed up on Hillary´s desk - you have to believe the contents of those files have served to silence a great many in Congress, the halls of justice and the Pentagon corridors of power

As some famous person said recently, "At this point, what difference does it make?" We have a Republican party that is scared of its own shadow hence no appetite for talk of impeachment even if liberal constitutional scholars are saying that word in public, in Congress. Great article though, but Roger, a day late and a dollar short. We have ObamaCare and the destruction of 1/5 of our economy and health care system. We have a very specious deal with Iran. In short, we have Zero and his Czars in place for another 3 years with a still compliant and fawning press. May God help the United States of America if in fact that is what we still are, at the end of this disaster´s term.

A little late, folks. Roger L is great. This Hollywood writer, with guts, authored TURNING RIGHT AT HOLLYWOOD & VINE, in 2008!, before others followed with similar "exploit Hollywood" titles (Breitbart´s classic RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION, Ben Shapiro´s PRIMETIME PROPAGANDA, and the legendary, David Mamet´s THE SECRET KNOWLEDGE). In 2012, Roger L crossed another "fear line", and wrote a play about Communism, THE PARTY LINE, with his collaborator, the beautiful Sheryl Longin. This Hollywood based writer
has the intellectual strength to write about Communism
when NOBODY in Hollywood will ever dare to even use the word!
The Rule of Silence prevails from the top suites down.
Communist propaganda is the rule of Hollywood. And absolute censorship, omission, is definitely a form of propaganda, as declared by Communist Lenin 100 years ago !
What is bothersome about this article by Roger L, is that in his clear headed analysis, he makes no mention whatsoever of the rest of Washington and the media,
The Army of Liars, all so involved with their own lies,
they cannot refute even one or two of Nobama´s lies,
much less refute them all.
As Roger L closed, likening Obama´s brotherly lies with dictators around the world, he forgets to include our lying, damaging, Diane Sawyer TV media that lead the way. Conspiracy nut or not, Roger L is a part of a growing wealth of articulate and artistic dissent. Bravo !

#67, O-Bomber was "truthin´" when he said he was a foreign student.
O-Bomber was adopted legally by his Indonesian stepfather.
He is still an Indonesian Muslim.
He has never gone through any process known to anybody to regain U.S. citizenship.

O-Bomber would not want either scenario revealed, anyway.
If he was not truly foreign, and lied, for any reason, including money...
then that would be criminal fraud.
That is your take on it.

If he was telling the truth, as I would say, and claimed to be Indonesian
or somehow any other foreign nationality, he is not a U.S. citizen today
and would be booted out of POTUS immediately, so his trancripts
must remain secret.

Regarding both #69 and #70...
Why else would you want to demand transcripts and a birfin´ certimicut
but for an impeachment process... ?

Congress cannot just embark on a fishing expedition.
There has to be a reason for such a demand.
If you are examining the extent of the POS POTUS´ criminal fraud
for purposes of removal, then you go ahead and get the transcripts and
dat birfin´ certimicut.

Biden is an old white dunce of a nuthin´.
He would lose in a landslide.
He cannot play the race card, the media will lampoon the idiot...
What´s not to like about a successful impeachment and removal...?
Presidunce Biden will block Hill-err-ee-ass Herself from the nomination.
Then he will lose like the pig he is.
It´s a win-win.
Love it.

There are only a few Conservative forums and speakers out there that devote their lives and time to protecting the Constitution and Country. This site is one of them. Drudge and Rush Limbaugh have millions of followers each day that influence public opinion. The Tea Party is an excellent Organization.

My own opinion isn´t important, but I do resent people who continually attack conservative organizations who are doing the bulk of work protecting our Constitution. Do the Search history.

Easter 2014: A celebration of hope
Fox News, by Rev. Dr. James B. Lemler    Original Article

Over 2 billion people are celebrating Easter today, April 20, as the calendars of Western and Eastern churches coincide this year, and these billions of faithful people are celebrating HOPE. The Easter message begins with the hopeful news that death has been overcome by life, that hatred has been overcome by love, and that sorrow has been overcome by joy. The elements of the story involve women arriving at a garden tomb and finding it empty, but even better, meeting the risen Lord, the embodiment of life and love. Their lives are changed forever and so are the lives of many, many

The French version of the Easter Bunny is Easter Bells (les cloches de Pâques)—which allegedly fly to Rome for a few days before the holiday to be blessed by the Pope before returning with chocolate eggs for the kids. But you don’t have to hunt very far to find French chocolate and pastry shop windows full of Easter eggs all trying to out-cute, out-class, or simply out-design one another. Good-looking pastries and other sweets are a modestly priced pleasure in France. But like fashion designers, French patissiers and chocolatiers

WHAT ARE the implications for Taiwan of China’s continued rise? Not today. Not next year. No, the real dilemma Taiwan will confront looms in the decades ahead, when China, whose continued economic growth seems likely although not a sure thing, is far more powerful than it is today. Contemporary China does not possess significant military power; its military forces are inferior, and not by a small margin, to those of the United States. Beijing would be making a huge mistake to pick a fight with the American military nowadays. China, in other words, is constrained by the present global balance

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

WASHINGTON — Daniel Swalm was researching his family when he came across a disturbing episode in immigration history. That discovery would lead to a move in the U.S. Senate to apologize for action the nation took more than a century ago. This “Open Letter to the Friends of Ukraine,” by a guest columnist who writes under the pen name of Irina Gokieli, dated April 19, offers the author’s pessimistic scenario of forthcoming events in what Vladimir Putin now calls “NewRussia.” “NewRussia” encompasses southeastern Ukraine and parts of Moldova. He interrupted with a personal rebuke of his questioner. Later, he suggested that questioning of his leadership, nonresponsiveness to congressional oversight, and referring to the contempt vote was evidence of racism. The accusation was made a second time, perhaps as a political stratagem, by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Let’s stop there — and stop the deflection, too. The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. The bushy-tailed visitor

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

I began reading the entirety of the first section of the New York Times at nine years old, and continued that practice, more or less, for decades.(snip) ...the power of reverence, intrinsic to what I call the “cascade” of The Times: the near avalanche-like flow and distribution of information through electronic and print networks: through like-minded network newscasts, magazines, local newspaper s, blogs, daytime talk TV, late-night entertainment, statements at media award ceremonies, the celebrity Twitterverse, etc. The cascade rolls through Saturday Night Live, Jon Stewart, The New Yorker, the mouths of third-grade teachers, Elmo, Madonna and Susan Sarandon …through

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Bill joined “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey at the Revlon Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall Thursday, joking of Spacey’s Machiavellian character, “When I was president people accused me of murder all the time, made a show of investigating. Spacey’s president for 15 minutes and he gets away with murder.” Spacey, who sang during the event with Sting, Stephen Stills and James Taylor, also showed off his Johnny Carson impression, taking a swipe at the coverage of Flight

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan
