Richard Simmons Goes Bonkers,
Breaks Down Crying on Fox;
Says Obamas ‘Rejected’ Him

Mediaite, by Andrew Kirell

The day before Thanksgiving 2013 shall hereby be known as “Richard Simmons Makes Hilarious Media Appearances Day.” The fitness guru dropped by the HuffPost Live studios to talk about his efforts in fighting childhood obesity. The conversation became critical of the Obama family when Simmons revealed that he was rejected in his attempt to join the First Lady in her “Let’s Move!” campaign. “I’m just not their set of sheets,” he told host Ricky Camilleri while wearing a set of anatomical muscle leggings and a “SWEAT” tank top. Simmons bristled at Camilleri’s suggestion that perhaps the White House doesn’t want to be

Comments:
Kirell thought this was "pure gold??" I know Simmons is a bit wacky, but he was off the charts loony on Neil´s show. Neil handled this with as much grace as possible considering what he was dealing with. Simmons´ behavior was extremely odd to say the least.

I agree with #7 and 8. I do not think Richard Simmons puts on an act when he gets teary-eyed. He seems to be an exquisitely sensitive rather emotionally immature man. I think he was terribly hurt when young and it has framed his life. He has done a great deal of good for many people. Cavuto knew exactly what he was getting with this interview. Media anchors expect the unexpected with Richard on the set. Neil wasn´t surprised and handled Simmons kindly. I am glad.

A fascinating article by Francis Wilkinson appeared in Bloomberg View last week (h/t Instapundit). Wilkinson detailed the fact that income inequality between whites and blacks is worse in leftist cities: Minneapolis-St. Paul. San Francisco. Chicago. Even Madison, Wisconsin. If you are politically liberal and value relatively high levels of income equality, you might live in one of these quintessentially liberal U.S. cities. Yet all four lurk in the bottom half of the 2014 National Urban League’s State of Black America report on income inequality between blacks and whites. Among the many places where black-white income is less skewed are Phoenix, Arizona,

According to the poll, 64.2 percent of likely GOP primary voters said that they are ready for someone new to take the job and only 29.3 percent signaled a willingness to re-elect McCain. This was no rogue incompetent tinkering with America´s health care. Don´t get me wrong; Sebelius was inexcusably bad — arrogant, defiant, uncompassionate, dogmatic and unrepentant. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
