The Democrats’ naked power grab
Washington Post, by Dana Milbank

“Congress is broken,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday before holding a party-line vote that disposed of rules that have guided and protected the chamber since 1789. If Congress wasn’t broken before, it certainly is now. What Reid (Nev.) and his fellow Democrats effectively did was take the chamber of Congress that still functioned at a modest level and turn it into a clone of the other chamber, which functions not at all. They turned the Senate into the House. Democrats were fully justified in stripping Republicans of their right to filibuster President Obama’s nominees — yet they will

This is now two Washington Compost articles that say the Dimocrits were "justified," but that it´s still wrong. In other words, if it wasn´t for those damned Republicans not turning us in to a dictatorial democracy, then we would have to do this.

We are so close to joining Rome in the category of Once Great Republics, I don´t even know if I´ll be dead before it happens.

What the Democrats did is abandon over 200 years of bi-partisan US Senate advise and consent on judicial nominees that gave the federal court judges credibility to just partisan Democrat consent for Obama´s judicial nominees that will result in the appointment of radical political judges.

Look for the Democrats to reverse this rule change the moment they realize that they have lost control of the Senate on a last minute vote before they give up control.

#4: does not matter. Since the D´s have now trashed the rule, the R´s will simply reverse it on the very first day. Once the horse is out of the barn that is the end of it. History will eventually call Senator Pussbag (D-Nev) the worst Senate Majority Leader in history.

What we are seeing is a President and his political party willing destroy this country in order to remake into their vision. There has never been such naked push for political power in this country. Nothing will stop them. If they, especially at this time when they are seemingly failing, make a move like this, it is because they are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goal. They have this one opportunity to bring down this country and they mean to take it. Now. This is just the beginning. The real work of destruction is coming. They will not be deterred. I believe Republicans do not have the grit to fight the reality that they are facing with the Obama regime. Either they don´t believe them or they can´t believe this could happen in this country. Either way, we have no army on the field of battle.

Live it to Marxist democrats to say something that is wrong, is justified.

They are pleading temporary insanity as a defense.

All for one purpose only.

To pack the courts and agencies with as many fellow Marxist communists as possible. The courts with lifetime Marxist communists over ruling our constitutional limits put on government, destruction from within just as always was predicted by their fellow communists around the world.

Don´t look to the republican leadership for any resistance as they are in lockstep with the same goal as they are fellow Marxists communist themselves tearing into all true republicans who are conservatives as trouble makers who want to upset the real political agenda which is slavery to government pasted off as ´We care for you, your needs and wants and al your need do is fall in line and not fight the ruling class people.

I believe ´willing to do whatever it takes´ includes elimination of all opponents one way or another.

People they are declaring war on the people who will not fall in line with their agenda.

Look at what they are doing, the whole picture, it is tyrannical rule of the simple majority who just happen to be Marxist communists who have no problem with your elimination and will do so unless you unite against them. Look into all their supporters who are openly stating they need to eliminate conservatives of all races for the good of the Marxist communist community.

Let´s ask ourselves, why now? Why are they so adamant about putting Obamacare rubber stamps on the DC court? Could it be that they anticipate numerous legal challenges? How better to gum up the works than an Obama lackey hearing the case.

Right now the judges are split evenly 4 to 4 among Democrat and Republican appointees. They will now appoint 3 more Obama´ites which will change the shape of the court. Was it worth upending 250 years of tradition? To a neo-Democrat radical, yes.

Just like with ObamaCare, this rule can´t be reversed until Dems´ own faces are mashed hard into what the horse dropped as it left the barn.

Let Harry Reid return the rule to its former status. So what? The next Repub majority simply votes it back to its current state.* Then Repubs pass something that used to require cloture but now only requires 51 votes. Then the back room negotiations start and quietly the rule is reinstated as it was.

* Note: I don´t believe there are near enough Repubs with the oysters to do this, so this is wishful thinking on my part.

The good news is: they´re not ALL communists.
As the Reids get more and more desperate, more totalitarian dictator like, the few, non communist to the death democrats will break out of their nazi like party.
Their own constituents are beginning to question them right now. Imagine a long term socialist like Waxman, quietly undermining individualism for so many uninterrupted years, nobody bothering him. and now, lots of non communist, well meaning so called liberals, are seeing people controlling, freedom smashing things
they don´t like and they´re asking Waxman objectionable questions like never before. This would be a great time for Breitbart to go to Nevada and get some "on the street" interviews about Reid gone crazy, power mad Reid betraying his own voters. These signs of total desperation mean that they are losing, they a have gone too far, they are falling apart.

Rules that are so easily passed, are also easily undone. Reid and 0bama will reverse this rule before Reid gives control of the senate back to the Republicans, then the media will cry about a Republican power grab when the Repubs try to change it back. One thing it does show is the desperation of Prince Harry and Jehoba. They know that they´re getting ready to lose control of the Senate, and are going to ram through everything that they can before they do.

It also has the added advantage of bumping the Zippycare disaster stories off the front page.

I´m still here calling for another revolution. It´s actions like this that cause me to do so. In my 68yrs, I´ve never seen such openness to change this country into something it was not intended to be. And how illegal they do it without anyone pushing back. So, I call for citizens to rise up, lock and load you personal weapons, help organize or join a group of like minded citizens, find yourself a competent leader, and start cleaning out the DC swamp. IHMO, that is the only thing that is going to return this country back to it´s initial state. That and making some needed changes to the Constitution. Together we can do it. Alone, we can´t.

Yes, this is a bloodless coup d´etat a putsch, if you will. The Dems have just run roughshod over the American voter and violated Federalist Paper #10 --- the majority must respect the minority. And, of course, in typical fashion they couldn´t care less.

But what Harry Reid has unwittingly done is that he has forced ALL the Dems to stick together from now on. Even those up for re-election next year. To fight back, the Republicans in the Senate should refuse --- as a matter of principle --- to vote for anything until this filibuster is restored! (I know, fat chance of that, but WE should still demand they do it). This will force the Dems to vote in lock-step and everything becomes theirs. See if old Harry can hold on to his majority now! NO VOTES FROM REPUBLICANS ON ANY PIECE OF LEGISLATION!!

I´d personally love to see all the Republicans just meet outside on the steps until this is changed back to what it was historically but that won´t happen either.

Since before the ´08 election, I have claimed that our government is irreparably broken and we are past de for Ctrl+Alt+Del.

IMO, the ONL way to fix a system that s as badly broken, as dysfunctional and corrupt as our has become, is to send everyone home and start over with an ironclad rule that the Constitution is the law of the lad and is to be observed at all times!!

Anyone who doesn´t understand that gets sent home.

The Obama administration said Friday that it would block Iran’s nominee as ambassador to the United Nations from entering the United States, setting up a new confrontation with Tehran just as relations with the Islamic republic appeared to be improving. The decision to bar entry to the diplomat, who was allegedly involved in the 1979 seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, followed intense political pressure on the administration from Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill. But it also marked a rare instance in which Washington has effectively vetoed another country’s preferred choice as envoy to the United Nations. Iran

Struggling homeowners across the country could face significant new tax bills if they receive mortgage relief from their banks, a prospect that threatens to slow the housing recovery and put further strain on distressed borrowers. The collapse of the housing market and plunging home prices left millions of people stuck owing more on their mortgages than their homes were worth. Some have worked with their banks to reduce the loan amount to avoid foreclosure or enable a sale. In 2007, Congress adopted a law that spared those homeowners from being taxed on the amount of the loan that was forgiven. But

Barack quickly stepped in and grabbed the First Lady´s billowing skirt to help her avoid a wardrobe malfunction and embarrassing Marilyn Monroe moment. Earlier in the week, another famous lady on the global stage suffered a similar snafu, but no one was around to help her -- not even her prince!

Recently elected Democratic Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe is warning that global warming could raise sea levels high enough to flood the Hampton Roads region, home to the world´s largest naval base, without immediate and “smart decisions.” Addressing an environmental summit this week at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va., McAuliffe embraced climate change, blamed humans for causing it, and said action is needed now to protect Virginia´s coast from rising ocean levels that will result from global warming. “The first big decision of course is to accept that climate change is real,” he told the group. “I happen to believe in

President Obama stood Friday with the Rev. Al Sharpton and accused Republicans of trying to keep millions of Americans from voting, in a fiery speech days after new revelations about Sharpton’s past as an FBI informant. “The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago,” Obama told the annual convention of Sharpton’s National Action Network in Manhattan. Obama’s appearance represented a presidential seal of approval of Sharpton’s role as a civil rights activist, amid the new revelations about how Sharpton used a wire to record

Nearly a year into the IRS scandal, we still don´t know exactly what happened—though we are finally getting an inkling. That´s thanks to the letter House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp sent this week to the Justice Department recommending a criminal probe of Lois Lerner. The average citizen might be dizzied by the torrent of confusing terms—BOLO lists, Tigta, 501(c)(4)—and the array of accusations that have made up this IRS investigation. Mr. Camp´s letter takes a step back to remind us why this matters, even as it provides compelling new information that goes to motive and method—and clarifies some of

Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle. Michael Parker and Flora Chang, at Sanford Bernstein, say we entering a new order of "global energy deflation" that must ineluctably erode the viability of oil, gas and the fossil fuel nexus over time.

STAMFORD, Conn. — Jeb Bush defended his controversial comments about immigration reform, insisting they were nothing new for him and urging “sensitivity to the immigrant experience.” At a Connecticut Republican party dinner Thursday night, the former Republican governor of Florida did not repeat his remarks from last weekend at his father’s presidential library, when he said that people who come to the United States illegally in search of a better life for their children “broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love.” This time the potential 2016 candidate put it differently. “To be young and

Coming clearly through the throbbing of helicopters and the roar of the SUVS of the feds harassing the Cliven Bundy Ranch, patriots there for Bundy should “tell it to the judge”. There is mainstream media-suppressed case history in Nevada the feds are desperately trying to keep under wraps. Chief Judge Robert C. Jones of the Federal District Court of Nevada smacked down high-handed, abusive feds, sending the pretend cowboys riding roughshod over Western ranchers and property owners back to their cobweb-laced offices in 2013. In spite of their 200 armed snipers with boy toys in tow, those Stetson-wearing feds hunkering down on Cliven

As President Obama spoke of old "wounds” at Fort Hood this week, the White House declined a request from a survivor of the 2009 massacre there to meet with Obama for a few minutes so the veteran could explain face-to-face how he believes the government has mistreated and disrespected the victims of that attack. Staff Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford (ret.) was shot seven times in November 2009 when Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Hasan opened fire at Fort Hood, killing 13 people. Despite Hasan’s admission that he carried out the attack on behalf of the Taliban and revelations that he had been
