The Day of the Senate´s Nuclear
Devastation May Have Finally Arrived

The Wire, by Philip Bump

Original Article

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid´s finger is hovering over the big red button that will launch the Democrats´ nuclear attack against the United States Senate. By which we mean that, having secured 51 votes, Reid reportedly plans to advance a change to the body´s voting rules that would facilitate the approval of presidential nominees. KABOOM. That rules change, the much-discussed "nuclear option," is not an insignificant move for Reid. It´s not as bad as what happened in, say, Hiroshima in 1945, but it upends a long-standing tradition in the chamber. The problem in the Democrats´ view, as we´ve noted before,

Old Harry just doesn´t have a tight grasp on reality does he? If and when the repubs take back the Senate in 2014, he is going to be one sorry little dude.

Karma bites really hurt Harry. Especially the one you and Pelosi have coming to each of you.

What´s really distressing to me is that when the Republicans regain a majority in the Senate and have their leader installed they will not use this power as a hammer to disable the dim party´s voice. The same for the next Republican _resident, 1. Will not un-executive previous executive orders ( See Bush ), 2. Reverse previous disastrous rules to help the country reverse course, regardless of what the dims think, 3. Defund or reduce to paltry levels the jobs-destroying Departments, bureaus and agencies that are an anchor to the growth of this country.

While reading the article I noticed they mentioned Trent Lott threatening to do the same thing in ´03, but not why.

They whine that Reid feels that it his only option if he is going get 0bama´s nominations through. They of course do not mention this was why Trent Lott was considering it.

They fail to print then Senator 0bama´s floor speech warning of the abuse of power of the majority. Of course this is expected.

But the is the worst, FTA:"For what it´s worth, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell argued that the Democrats only wanted to change the topic of Obamacare. "I´d want to be talking about something else, too, if I had to defend dogs getting insurance while millions of Americans lost theirs," McConnell said on Thursday."

Really Mitch? This may be true, but don´t you think you would have better served your party if you had taken the opportunity to point out the hypocrisy of Reid and the pResident?

What´s REALLY distressing, #9, is that the Repubs had a chance to knock Harry out of the Senate, but put up a nut-case to run against him and they blew the election. They did the same in Delaware and in Missouri with that imbecile who said a woman couldn´t get pregnant if she was raped. I think there was a blown chance in Indiana, too. Anyone at national Repub HQ who talks about Obama´s incompetence should look in the mirror first.

Much of the impetus for Reid´s imposition of the "Nuclear Option" at this juncture has no been getting any coverage in the media. The PPACA requires that the IPAB (Death Panel/rationing board) must be in place and have produced its budget controlling Medicare spending by 8/15/14. That is the mechanism by which Obama and his law will "redistribute" $716B in the next ten years from people who pay Medicare taxes to those who don´t in order to get health insurance for those who don´t, won´t or can´t pay for it.

That panel is to be stocked with 15 fanatical Obamabot hacks appointed by Obama and confirmed by the Senate. Ridding the process of the 60 vote threshold will probably be the only way to get the hacks onto the board and successfully divert Medicare funding from doctors and hospitals to insurance companies and premiums for constituents.

If these punks stack the deck to ram home progressive jurists, then in 2014 and 2016 we will impeach their appointees.

Just like Stinky used NSA, FBI and other spying networks to get the goods on Roberts, we will find the same means to rid our selves of these vile and evil creatures.

The whole issue is because the Democrats started to use the method against Republician presidential nominees. Until then it was thjoguht the PResident dshould get what they want. When its used against the left they feel they have the right to change the rules of the game again. Should work for impeachment too.

If this action does not prove to the Republicans that the democrats are now openly declaring war, then nothing will ever get them to wake up. All along the Republicans have chosen not to put up a real fight and this is where that strategy has gotten us. They knew this was in the works and could have alerted people via the media and social media outlets. It may not have changed anything but the people could have let their voices be heard. Is everyone on the Republican side a conscientious objector?

Think billions to cronies, Acorn remakes, and consider Soros-funded and Soros-affiliated entities running our voting machines/software. Could this backfire on the Democrats? If next year the GOP keeps the House and takes the Senate couldn´t obama be impeached with 51 votes in the Senate? Just asking. It would be sweet if that happened. But I honestly don´t believe that the Republicans would do it even if they could.

The Democrats don´t fear revenge on this change because they know that even should Republicans take the majority in 2014 they still have Obama to veto any legislation and they know Republicans will not have the votes to override. This would give them until 2016 to regain the senate majority figuring Hillary will ride to the rescue with coat tails in her successful taking of the presidency. Then the destruction could continue.

Now having passed their so-called Nuclear Option you have to ask what will the Democrats do to further their power structure in Washington, DC?

They did not need to specifically include US Supreme Court nominees in what they did today because there are no vacancies at the moment. But as soon as a vacancy occurs and if the Republicans do not go along with whatever extreme liberal that Obama names, you can bet that the Democrats will simply extend their Nuclear option to include those judicial nominations. Then the next step is to extend it to include all Democrat legislation.

Any Republicans in Congress who continue to cross the aisle and play goody two shoes with the Dmocrats should be met with a primary challenger.

#27, educate yourself. Get a copy online of the US Constitution and read Article 1. Removal of the President requires impeachment by the House of Rep´s and a two-thirds vote of the Senate for conviction and removal.

That´s the Constitution. A majority of the Senate can change its own internal rules; it cannot "change the rules" imposed by the Constitution.

The roof is falling in on the communists. For starters, 80 of them in Congress, according to Allen West. Then, look at Hillary, Obama, Martin Bashir, Harry Reid, even balding David Letterman letting his socialist protecting hair down FINALLY. They’re getting desperate ! Look what L dotter. #22 - FlatCityGirl, says above: “……. this is also a diversion put up by two Communists: 0bama and Dingy Harry. Yes. Communists. The Communists have taken us and never fired a shot. Forget Marxism and Socialism, etc. They --and their fellow travelers, and Communists.” And, not one living “leader” dares use the word, communist. The next big roof to fall in on these desperate people, is the media roof cracking wide open. All the Diane Sawyer TV news actors, who read off the same teleprompter that Obozo uses, are starting to panic because they simply cannot keep on pretending nothing’s happening. Who will fall first? Brokaw’s out acting like a wise historian, Walters is going to retire, Couric is doing nutso afternoon gossiping. They’re all sick. Time to watch a few of the least crazed. turn yellow, and rat on their commie buddies. Aboui !

You do know that the Democrats have a present knowledge that they will keep the Senate, right? Also, this necessarily means Mr Obama is going to appoint people like Van Jones, Wade Rathke, etc to very powerful positions. While the MSM, et al excrutiates over Obamacare (which by the way is NOT going away, EVER), Mr Obama laughs and accelerates the nation to a place further away from the Constitution and further past the point of no return which we passed last November. The best that will happen is wringing hands, pathetic wimpy statements from McConnel (like he wouldn´t IMMEDIATELY reverse the nuke option if the impossible happened and the GOP gained a Senate majority. He´d cave to that in a nanosecond) and the rest of the trouser wetting GOP. This is just more "in your face" stuff that´s going to get worse and worse.

#40 is correct. This latest act of tyrannical immoral behavior on the part of the ´Rats comes out of desperation.

With Obamacare crashing to the ground and imploding, many are taking a closer look at what has been going on, and the price they have had to pay due to their own ignorance in the past. The grand illusion that liberals have perpetrated upon the public for years has dissolved in the face of reality.

The ´Rats who (to their own detriment)who have foolishly invested themselves into the destructive philosophies of liberalism, are now faced with the very real scenario of be driven completely out of power next year.

They are sensing the price for their blind loyalty to their false messiah in the white house, and their subservience to left-wing dollars of special interests, will be very high.

As with any regime facing imminent collapse, the fanatics and kool-aide drinkers will continue to lash out desperately until the bitter end seals their fate. Expect a whirlwind of activity on the left side of congress through 2014.

That is why the "police" are arming up. Oh, not because of any widespread conspiracy, mind you. Will they really fire on irate citizens? All it takes is for a very large percentage of the population to refuse to participate. Go on strike in other words.

AUSTIN, TX.--Texas´ ban on gay marriage was struck down by San Antonio-based federal Judge Orlando Garcia today. The judge suspended his ruling, however, meaning that the ban will remain in place until a secondary ruling by an appeals court later this year. Federal judges have the right to suspend a law if it is believed to cause significant suffering for the plaintiffs. The original lawsuit in Texas was filed by two gay couples: Cleopatra De Leon and Nicole Dimetman of Austin; and Mark Phariss and Victor Holmes of Plano. In his decision, Judge Garcia said the gay marriage ban has no "rational

Feast your eyes on how Apple hopes you remember its visionary founder, Steve Jobs. (Photo) That thing is a scale- model of the winning design, which was selected from among 10,000 entries. Were they all this ugly? It’s memorable, for whatever that’s worth. It’s also nothing like anything Jobs would have probably approved. He was all about clean design that made intuitive sense. That statue has Cyrillic letters sticking out of the side, because the designer is Serbian. Also, it has a tiny, pitted pinhead. It is basically a disturbing Pez dispenser, but without candy. The full-size 10 to 15 foot

Not a tiny handful. Not even an imagined majority. No, every last person who says they´ve been harmed by Obamacare is lying, according to the Majority Leader of the United States Senate: (Video) He specifically cites the story of a woman we wrote about earlier in the week, whose story...hasn´t been debunked. You´ll recall that Rep. Gary Peters, Michigan Democrats´ presumptive Senate nominee, had his lawyers pressure television stations to refuse to air an anti-Obamacare ad starring a cancer patient who´s been hurt by the new law. Julie Boonstra has since explained her situation in some detail and would like

Space travel has been very good for Sandra Bullock. The 49-year-old actress looks set to earn her biggest paycheck to date for Gravity, with studio sources saying she will make at least $70 million when all revenue streams are factored in. According to multiple sources, Bullock´s deal with Warner Bros. for the Alfonso Cuaron-directed space epic calls for her to earn $20 million upfront against 15 percent of first-dollar gross. That means once her advance is covered, she will collect 15 percent of the studio´s slice of the box-office pie, known as "film rentals." Each studio negotiates individual deals with

Two gay couples had challenged the state’s constitutional amendment and a longstanding law banning gay marriage.Under federal court rules, a judge may suspend a law if he or she believes the plaintiffs have a strong case and will suffer if the law is enforced. On Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden blamed “hatred” as the motivating force behind voter identification laws in states such as North Carolina, Alabama, and Texas. Biden wants new laws to block “former slave holding states in the south” from discrimination against blacks and other minorities. Biden, speaking at a reception at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C., in celebration of African-American History Month, said that, "These guys never go away. Hatred never, never goes away. The zealotry of those who wish to limit the franchise cannot be smothered by reason." Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee (I) would take issue with

Kerry Kennedy returned to the stand in her own defense during her drugged driving trial Wednesday – and wasted no time invoking the tragic memory of her assassinated “daddy” Robert F. Kennedy. “Daddy was the attorney general during the civil rights movement and then a senator,” she told the six-person jury, who listened impassively during the blatant bid for sympathy. “I have 10 brothers and sisters. My mother raised us because my father died when I was 8,” the 54-year-old said, explaining why she grew up in Virginia. “He was killed while running for president.”Ethel Kennedy, 85, was in court

When Obamacare handed insurance companies millions of compulsory customers, it also handed them a reminder of one of their industry´s toughest realities: Consumers want low premiums, and they want to see any doctor they want. And it´s impossible to give them both. Generally, insurers selling plans on Obamacare´s exchanges opted to keep premiums low, hoping the public would prefer a low upfront price tag—even if that meant customers couldn´t always pick their first-choice doctor. But "if you like your doctor, you can hope she´s in our network" was always going to be a tough sell for insurers. With the insurance

The attorney for Lois Lerner blasted the House GOP for recalling the former IRS official to testify next week, saying it would only serve to embarrass her and could increase threats against Lerner and her family. Bill Taylor, Lerner’s attorney, told House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) that he told committee staff in January that Lerner would continue to invoke her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination if recalled, and that she would "happily testify" if given immunity. Taylor, of Zuckerman Spaeder, said he heard nothing further from the committee until Issa wrote to him on Tuesday, saying he was hauling Lerner

Call it what you want -- anti-gay or religious rights -- but if Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signs a controversial bill, you might not be calling Arizona the home of the 2015 Super Bowl. Were he alive today, Richard Nixon would have to doff his hat to Barack Obama. Compared with how the Obama administration has swept under the rug the Benghazi attacks of September 11, 2012, Nixon’s attempt to cover up the Watergate burglary was rank amateurism. To be fair, Nixon’s team of Haldeman, Ehrlichman, Mitchell, and Dean were not in the same league as Obama’s, which includes not only his cabinet but most of the national media and much of Congress. If a president were intent on covering something up—something big, such as an illegal gun walking operation to Mexico or a dereliction
