Chicago TV Pitchman faces prison

No, he´s not named Barack Obama. ABC News reports: It took jurors in a Chicago courtroom only one hour of deliberation to decide that controversial TV pitchman Kevin Trudeau was guilty of criminal contempt for making misleading claims in TV infomercials for his best-selling weight loss book. (snip)The magnitude of Trudeau´s deception and the harm suffered by American consumers pales compared fellow Chicagoan Barack Obama´s fraud. President Obama cannot be imprisoned for his Bige Lie. The remedies available are political.

I´ve no sympathy for anyone who fell for this shyster. Losing weight isn´t hard: eat less and go for walks every day. That´s how I dropped 60 plus pounds over the last two years. And I didn´t need a book or a government program to figure it out.

I watched one of this guy´s infomercials, out of curiosity. I couldn´t figure out what he was selling.

#1, a local store was selling some of those products "as seen on TV." Most of them looked pretty shabby, but the frying pan was nice.

Armando Montelongo is a sleazy real estate flipper who has made millions scamming people. He has had dozens of lawsuits filed against him yet continues on tv just as Kevin Trudeau.

His day will come when hopefully he ends up in prison. Unless he pays off the democrat party.

As the Iran sanctions bill gains bipartisan and expansive support in the Senate, the Obama White House is in panic mode.(snip)But while Obama is putting all of the pressure on Democrats to side with him (and Iran) on this issue, he may also be setting up a fall guy if the mullahs do indeed walk away from the table or if they fail to meet their obligations under an interim deal. A new breed of website has sprung up, powered by social media, in which liberals congratulate themselves, and attempt to provide spiritual instruction on improving the world through their ideology. (snip) many people find the discipline of genuine religions daunting, unpleasant, and a general buzz-kill. Liberalism offers hedonism and self-congratulation in place of genuine contact with the numinous. It may not have any depth to it, but for those inclined to reject everything that came from their forbearers´ world, convinced that they have found a better, or at least a more pleasant approach to life, liberalism is a decent crutch.

In 2012, the city of Omaha unfathomably accounted for nearly 80% of Nebraska´s homicides. Over the years, that harrowing statistic has remained consistent, with most of the murders disproportionately occurring in north Omaha, which is primarily black. In direct contradiction of the First Amendment, which forbids the establishing of a state religion, the Obama administration is busily doing just that. Meanwhile, it is attempting forced conversion of the reluctant, all the while targeting Christians and Orthodox Jews as people who are continually violating the establishment of religion clause. Just what religion is our current administration establishing in direct violation of the Constitution of the United States? It is establishing the faith of secular statism, a religion currently characterized by the tenets of radical progressivism. Statism is rapidly becoming the only faith in America allowed to operate with complete freedom.

Over geologic time, within a fluctuation of a few degrees, the Earth´s climate has been moderate and stable. The climate has long been similar to today´s despite the fact that, in the past, carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has typically been very much greater than it is today. Why is this so? No one knows. That is what scientists should be trying to discover. (snip)The fundamental mistake made consistently by almost all global warming advocates is that carbon dioxide induces net positive feedback. The postulated mechanism is that increased carbon dioxide warms the atmosphere, which, in turn, causes increased evaporation

Washington - Just days after dismissing two top advisers for their roles in the George Washington Bridge scandal, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is facing questions over the use of Superstorm Sandy relief funds. CNN has learned that federal officials are investigating whether Christie improperly used those relief funds to produce tourism ads that starred him and his family. Before Chris Christie’s first scandal devolves into an obsessive quest to prove who knew what, when, it’s worth pausing to appreciate the wonderful, quintessential New Jerseyness of the incident itself. What happened, roughly, is this. On August 13, Bridget Anne Kelly, one of Christie’s three deputy chiefs of staff, sent an email to David Wildstein, a Christie confidant serving as an executive for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls much of the transit infrastructure of northern Jersey. Kelly said that it was “time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.” Some speculate that the precipitating
