The Crisis Arrives
Weekly Standard, by Noemie Emery

Original Article

In March 2010, Barack Obama placed a giant bet on the docility and stupidity of the American people, when he decided in the face of three huge electoral warnings to force his health plan down the unwilling throats of the American people. And by November 2013, it was clear he had lost. It was not going to work. It would never be popular. And it was falling apart on its own. The HealthCare.gov website unveiled on October 1 had immediate problems, which were quickly revealed as the tip of the iceberg, as many worse things lay below. “If you like

I hope this unmitigated disaster causes the ruination of his presidency. He deserves every bit of the scorn and contempt thrown his way. He has no one to blame but himself. As Emery says: He built it. He owns it. And now it’s all his. Indeed.

Very well put, #1.
It´s not just his, all the dems that voted for it have their fingerprints on it too. Let´s hope they don´t escape their just deserts.

There is no question anymore that Obama is the worst president ever, beating out generally recognized failures such as Carter, Harding and Grant. Why? Because no one has been as dishonest and disrespectful to the American people nor as generally harmful to the country. We may not survive this presidency.

Dear DimWit Party --

If you like your 2012 presidential nominee...
you can keep him.

Preferably in a cage somewhere.

Don´t forget to feed him.
Maybe Furious George would like something from the menu of his Banana Republic
regime... he´s already slipped on the banana peel, might as well eat the snack.

Once the Senate and House are both under GOP control in 2015...
expect a repeal vote on O-BomberKommieKare.
Maybe your POS POTUS will get to veto it.
If he´s still in orifice, that is.

Obamacare is a disaster for America. It is not a disaster for Obama and the Democrats. Obamacare is still the law of the land. Obama is still president. Sebelius still heads the biggest government department. The elite Republicans still prefer their perks to doing what´s best for the country.

The most delicious part about all this is that the ACA has little Barry´s name on it. Therefore both will be inextricably synonymous with the term ´epic fail´.

His ´legacy´ is shattered. Moving on to amnesty. Stop whining.

Great article, but it´s too late... The healthcare insurance industry has been changed for good. It will take years to recover. People are losing their insurance, insurance companies are raising rates, laying off employees, businesses are laying off employees. This is a disaster, just like most of us Ldotters knew it would be.

And yes, excellent post #1!!!

Maybe Obama will finally learn who actually built this. He seemed to have an inability to understand that people do actually build businesses. Well, Obama, my boy. Welcome to reality. YOU did build this. Obamacare is your baby. Now comes the lesson everyone learns the first day they go into business. What you build you are responsible for. When things go wrong, you are held accountable. No buck passing. No excuses. You wanted Obamacare. You lied to achieve it. You failed to take responsibility for the rollout. You have no real solution to fix it. Therefore, we´re going to have to let you go. That´s what happens in the real world. Since that is not an option in this case, go sit down behind your desk (keep your feet off of it) and lame duck your way through the rest of the debacle that has been your presidency. Your golf clubs have been confiscated too and Air Force One is no longer at your disposal.

FTA: "If Obama had sold a vacuum cleaner under these terms, he’d be facing prosecution for fraud."

This is the second thread today to use the word "fraud" to describe Obama´s actions. If the electorate accepts this characterization, the nation is saved.

Prediction: As Obamacare crashes, it cannot be enforced.
1) People are not going to go without health insurance
2) Government is too broken to solve anything of this magnitude - it will not be a factor.
3) The free market will inevitably take over.

We may end up better off than ever before.

The evil built into Obiecare is beyond comprehension. It´s as much a dem recruiting tool as it is a supposed health insurance system. What with Acorn navigators with criminal records, intrusive privacy questions (voter profile data banks) with poor security and the corrupt IRS as the enforcer it is pure evil.

I´m not making any excuses for Obama, but he´s just not bright enough to do a proper fraud himself. He´s an actor who does a workman-like daily performance like a two performance daily Broadway play. Valerie Jarrett and the back-stage staff tell him what to do and when to do it. Barry sits on his skinny butt between performances and watches basketball or smokes weed.

C. Once you get through you will have a much better policy which you will like
D. Any coverage losses are due to greedy insurance companies.
Unfortunately, it is my lib friends who are making these excuses!

Ever since the disastrous roll out, I have noticed a definite shift in the media from using the term "obamacare" to the use of "ACA". I refuse to allow that. I will continue to call it obamacare, unless the term democratcare catches on.

They named it obamacare in hopes of claiming credit for this wonderful new entitlement, so now they need to own the blame....forever!

Meanwhile back at the ranch; former president George Bush is laughing his boots off!

For 14 years the Democrats including the current President, Barak Obama, demonized Mr. Bush, throwing every insult in the book at him.
Not once did Mr. Bush retaliate or comment on the sophomoric and childlike behavior by the left. He consistently showed maturity, patience, and fortitude in dealing with the Alinsky tactic of ridicule.

Mr. Obama’s line “I Won” now belongs to George Walker Bush.
I’m now thinking Guy Falkes was right. Remember, remember! The fifth of November

November 2013 will always be remembered as the fall of the WOULD BE KING, AND TYRANT BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA

#15: I´ve never felt Obama is nothing more than a dumb front man for this communist push. That VJ is the man behind the curtain is also a ruse. This attempted coup by communists is far, far greater than these two miscreants. They are nothing more than dupes who are making millions as front men for the real men behind the curtain.

I have every confidence that the American Spirit of ingenuity and determination will rise like the phoenix. The insurance companies have a lot of money stashed away and as they say, necessity is the mother of invention. It may take awhile and may not be exactly what we had before, but rest assured, this country will rebound and move forward from this travesty.

Social Security is pretty much a very large mail room with a serious computer program or two. It´s well practiced, and if you wanted you could convert it to an equities fund in a thrice.

Modern insurance companies are also made up of large mail rooms, serious computer programs, and they are well practiced. If you wanted you could convert them to equities funds as well.

BTW, getting beyond the immediate needs on the mail receiving platform, most of these operations, including Social Security, require but a fraction of the human staff they needed even 10 years ago ~ and a fraction of even that 50 years back. They are becoming more and more mechanized, automated, computerized and roboticized ~

ObamaKKKare in contrast was literally overladen with an elaborate bureaucracy like you might have had back in Bulgaria in the 1950s ~ and then they tried to operate the revenue side with antiquated software and methods.

I´m having some difficulty getting my head around the reason why anyone thought we needed to trash the health care insurance industry (state of the art computer systems making them more efficient by the minute) and put more bureaucrats in charge of setting standards for medical practice and hospital operations when, in fact, those operations were quickly being absorbed by computer based record maintenance, analysis and communications systems.

NOTE: One of the reasons you set standards is to create more efficiency and better outcomes in processes.

So far new standards have gotten rid of my doctor, trashed my health care insurance, and made it impossible to use local hospitals!

I don´t think any aspect of ObamaKKKare is working. We are going backwards a full decade every month.

It´s never too late to undo this mess. Zero has written off $2billion in failed green energy fraudulent loans - the executive and congressional branches launched over a trillion in stimulus and bailouts for ´too big to fail´ banks during the housing crisis - billions went bail out the auto companies...so write off this failed $2 or $3billion Zerocare mess, charging it to the Dims and zero´s boondoggle account, restore the $700billion stolen from Medicare, give relief to the insurance companies, and allow insurance across state lines and tort reform. Prohibition was repealed...

During the Presidential election, Romney was falsely accused of being responsible for causing the death of the wife of man five years after he was laid off from a factory that was acquired by a firm created by Romney. What was never mentioned was that the wife had health insurance from her own employer the whole time.

When people are put in an early grave as a direct result of Obamacare, will he receive the credit he deserves for this?

You can be sure that Obama, and his followers will try to blame somebody else.

Essentially what Obama and his liberal crew are doing is sabotaging the health care insurance of a huge number of Americans in order to provide health care insurance to the small percentage of Americans who do not have health insurance. If Obama and his crew had wanted to, they could have provided subsidies to those Americans without health insurance so that they could have purchased their own health care insurance without messing with everybody else. The Obama crew would not do that because Obama Care is all about central government control of everyone´s health care in the future.

Do not be surprised if the Stupid Party does not suddenly come out of the shadows and go along with a new Obama bailout mend it don´t end it plan that will be very expensive as a "fix" to Obama Care, that will "sucker" the Stupid Party into half ownership of Obama Care, and give Obama and the Democrats in Congress a political escape hatch before the 2014 election.

Hate to tell everyone, but the worst part of 0care is yet to come. The stage 4 cancer patient????? Does she think if she finally does get a policy it is going to shell out 12 million for care. The little girl with the lung problem was just the tip of the iceberg. Sarah Palin was right, there are panels that will be deciding who does, and who doesn´t get care.
And it might very well hinge on WHO you donate to. Why do you think Dems have wanted control of the health care industry for 50 years? What better way to force $ and support...than to control your doc and healthcare.

#25.... Obamacare has nothing to do with insurance, health/medical care, or anything related to doctors and hospitals.

Never did.

Come out of your systems analyst mind, and see this for what it really is:

Control. They need us all under control. Under their control, that is. They need to have our medical information so that they can determine what decisions to make for us and our futures. And our children. And whether there ARE more children for anybody.

Their worldview is of Utopia. Where only they, the Elitists, the Best of the Best, live with all the benefits and luxuries their hearts of stone desire.

But they need worker bees. Healthy, young, stupid worker bees to provide those luxuries for THEM.

I thought this was obvious from the git-go. They are EUGENICISTS. They want to be able to thin our greedy herd. Preborn is already OK. Old and feeble will be next (and soon). Following that will be those young ones born that aren´t the Utopist´s version of perfect. Who needs them? Remember the leftists scolding Sarah Palin for actually giving birth to a Downs Syndrome baby? NOT ACCEPTABLE in their view.

Yes, the Crisis is on our side right now. But I fear the GOP (being Elitists themselves) will do nothing to seize the day and bring about the remedies we all see but can´t enact. They can.

But I don´t see many of them out there, front and center, seizing the day. They are quite happy, as always, sitting in the background and letting the Demosocialists control every narrative.

I hope I live long enough to see the Revolution that is coming. And I pray I´m healthy enough to participate in it. I have six grandchildren who don´t deserve the world they´re being set up for.

Our leaders, elected and civilian are afraid to speak out big time in this greatest, most recognizable moment of giant, massive, inarguable, clear cut, gangster fraud.
The one safe moment for fearful, soft on freedom, and silent people like "W" Bush and Mitt Romney, to speak the hell out and say finally, "It´s gotten so bad, I HAVE to come out and say something", The fear is they are ideological cowards; great backgrounds, no backbone.
If Reagan were alive today, he would come out of his public retirement knowing this is the time of all times !
Remember, this crisis is also the opportunity for commie Barry to do something even more evil and damaging.
Secretly plan another mass killing for Feinstein, secretly
Give citizenship to thirty million invading aliens, virtually
Organizing a new huge government controlled labor union, with payments and pension monopolies you won´t believe. McCain Rubio. Schumer. McConnel. Waxman. Boxer Barry. They´re all paid off to pass it.

Obama et al, like to say that the existing insurance plans that are being cancelled are ´bad´, but I don´t know of a single plan that required maternity care, drug rehab, pediatric dental care on EVERY policy. Had insurance companies had the audacity to try that, Obama et al would have shouted from the mountaintops that the insurance companies were ripping people off to line their own pockets and we would need government to control them. Now, Obama makes those requirements and it makes the plans ´better´. We are through the looking glass.

#27 has the same feelings and thoughts as I have. The only difference is that, given the fact that the dims are actually Communists and the pubies are not going to do much of anything to correct the problems, then what is needed is an armed revolt. Another revolution. If we, the people don´t do that, we are lost and over as a nation that was once. It´s gone past the point that politics is going to cure the patient. It´s going to take major surgery. So, gather what ever you can, pitch forks, sickles, shotguns, rifles, hand guns, anything you can use and join the revolution. And remember, over 40% of the people in this country still adore Obozo. I know it´s unbelievable, but it´s true. There are a very, very large group that just loves to live on the federal dole at someone else´s expense. I´m tire of it.

As to the pResident´s petulantly mendacious character and his use of blatant lies to mitigate bodacious lies, he has created a very rare occurrence in language, an absolute vacuum of adequate, definitive, wording, a vacuum which it seem I can only fill with an uncontrollable and energetic blurt of the N-word, a transgression for which I suffer an agonizing inability to adequately apologize to Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas. To my great sorrow, this truth is the only apology I have.

Given the few ordinary Americans that were actually harmed over these offenses, what would the appropriate punishment for a president who has literally destroyed the health insurance, financial stability and, ultimately, the lives of of tens of millions Americans?

Something to ponder.

Most of these disasters would have been avoided had congress met its responsibilities.

In my years of watching politics, I have not seen a congress that cares less about "the people" than this one.

I personally hope none of the Senators who voted for ObamaCare survive the upcoming elections.

Add Richard Burr who voted to let the nomination of Mel Watt as head of FHMA go forward.

I have no respect for him.
I despise him.

He´s nothing more than an America-hating Kenyan muslim, hell-bent on destroying the country.

He must be removed from office. Now go do it Congress. We need a Five mission man march on DC to get the ball rolling.

The column I wrote last week, it turns out, has created somewhat of a storm. This is due to one thing only: Rush Limbaugh read it aloud on his radio program. (Start reading in the middle from where it says “BREAK TRANSCRIPT.”) That one decision by Rush led all of our mutual enemies to go viral, sending numerous Tweets and Facebook posts attacking Rush and me for supposedly arguing that the anti-Semitic neo-Nazi Glenn Miller acted because of Max Blumenthal. Of course, as I wrote last week in an addendum, this was not the point I was making. I wrote the following, and repeat it once again:

Iran is insisting that the United States accept its decision to appoint a former terrorist as it representative to the United Nations, which held a closed-door meeting on Tuesday to address Tehran’s concerns over the matter. President Barack Obama signed into law last week a widely supported bill preventing countries from appointing terrorists as their U.N. ambassadors. The bill came in response to Iran’s selection of Hamid Aboutalebi as its next envoy to the United Nations. The pick drew outrage on Capitol Hill and elsewhere after Aboutalibi was identified as having played a key role in the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis,

At Politico Magazine, writer and physician James Hamblin tried to answer the question "Who is Dr. Ben Carson?" After describing how he became a "darling of the right-wing media" after calling out President Obama at a prayer breakfast, Hamblin tried to explain how he speaks in "over the top" language about America in decline. But Hamblin really let loose when he insisted that despite Dr. Carson´s surgical talent, his opposition to Obamacare is based on "sentiment," not a "rational pespective. His talent "does not imply an elevated or even rational perspective on health-care policy." Carson speaks from a unique position of stature

When President Obama becomes the first U.S. president to visit Malaysia in almost half a century, he will visit a prominent mosque on Sunday – but not a church, in a country where relations between the Muslim establishment and minority Christians have not always been smooth. Also, Obama’s itinerary includes a meeting with “Malaysian civil society leaders,” but according to the White House he will not meet with Anwar Ibrahim, the veteran opposition leader who since the late 1990s has been embroiled in a legal battle with the government widely viewed as a politically motivated harassment campaign. Those scheduling decisions

On Monday, The Washington Post announced it had hired Philip Bump, a journalist currently at Atlantic magazine’s The Wire, to cover politics for their daily blog The Fix. The move set off a chain of congratulations from across the political press corps. But lost in the media love fest was Bump’s partisan past — a history left unspoken in either the Post’s official announcement or any of the Twitter applause. Not only does Bump’s archive at The Wire betray a palpable bias in favor of progressivism; his career as a journalist began when he headed a vicious pro-labor blog which published the names and addresses of opponents later targeted by

Secretary of State John Kerry called Earth Day today “proof that the steadfast determination of millions is powerful enough to change the course of history.” “I still remember participating in the very first Earth Day back in 1970,” Kerry said in a statement this afternoon. “It helped to unleash a wave of grassroots activism that ultimately led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and landmark laws like the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act. This Earth Day we need to consider new ways to unleash a new wave of activism to tackle today’s long list

When she was secretary of state, Hillary Clinton instituted a Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review. The first one was completed in December 2010. Nearly four years later, AP reporter Matt Lee asked State Department Jen Psaki to name one thing that Clinton’s QDDR accomplished. Just one. She can’t. LEE: “Off the top of your head, can you name one tangible achievement that the last QDDR resulted in?” PSAKI: “Well Matt, obviously it’s in an extensive, expansive process.” LEE: “So no.” PSAKI: “We’re looking at how it was done last time.” LEE: “Just one.” PSAKI: “I know, I’m making an important

U.S. military personnel has been on the ground in Yemen sifting through the aftermath of recent drone strikes, helping to retrieve bodies and data from the scene of a handful of weekend drone strikes carried out by the CIA, a source told Fox News on Tuesday. Separately, Fox News has learned that U.S. pilots provided airlift to Yemeni troops via Russian-built MI8 helicopters overnight for a separate ambush on a vehicle believed to be carrying top Al Qaeda militants. The missions follow the recent targeting of suspected terrorists in the country. On Monday, a suspected U.S. drone strike in southern Yemen killed 68 people,

Obama thanked first responders, federal officials, and lawmakers, saying they have been "relentless in making sure Oso has the resources they need." More than 2,800 Internal Revenue Service workers who had been disciplined recently received millions of dollars in bonuses and time off as part of an employee recognition program, a new government audit shows. The IRS has a program that rewards its employees for a job well done, but a report released Tuesday by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration found that, between October 1, 2010, and December 31, 2012, more than 2,800 recently disciplined IRS workers got more than $2.8 million in monetary awards and more than 27,000 hours in time-off awards. The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

Global sea levels have risen by 8 inches (20cm) since 1880 and scientists predict they could rise up to 3ft (98cm) by 2100. But despite the UN’s recent threats of war, famine and extreme weather, such a dramatically different world caused by sea level rise can be hard to imagine. To help picture the future, Martin Vargic, an amateur graphic designer from Slovakia, has created a map depicting the planet with sea levels around 260ft (79m) higher than they are today. He imagines what Earth would look like if the ice sheets surrounding the North and South poles melted, releasing

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

Harry Reid isn’t backing down from his claim that rancher Cliven Bundy’s supporters are “domestic terrorists.” It’s astonishing rhetoric given the White House’s characterization of the mass shooting by a genuine terrorist, Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 Americans at the Fort Hood Army base after yelling “Allahu Akbar!” (God is great.) Rather than labeling Hasan’s actions “domestic terrorism,” the Obama administration is prosecuting him for having committed “workplace violence.” Democratic rhetoric is become ever more desperate and overheated as we approach the November midterm elections.
