Don´t know much about history

One has to worry about the fate of the young minds entrusted to the Center for Inner City Studies at Northeastern Illinois University. As well, one must worry about the quality of the faculty at that publicly-funded institution. Thanks to Weasel Zippers, we have a picture of a plaque at NEIU´s Center for Inner City Studies: (picture) As Clarice Feldman observed, "must be a great American History Department there" if they believe that Abraham Lincoln was a Democrat. I have no information about how long the plaque has been in place, but the fact that nobody realized the gravity of the

I´m sure the whole thing was deliberate and the school administration and other liberals hoped only the students would notice and would think (if Northeastern´s students are capable of that, which is doubtful) that if Lincoln was a democ rat they should be, too.

When I went to college (Loyola) in Chicago 35 years ago, Northeastern had a rep for admitting anyone, and that´s what they got --- pathetically unprepared/stupid kids who could not get into a regular college (the school produced a lot of Education majors). Good to see they have upheld that tradition.

A quiet coup ratchets up
the propaganda quotient in education

While alarm bells are loudly ringing over the Common Core, a much quieter, yet potentially devastating, coup is underway, enabling the progressives to subvert secondary education. In classic leftist fashion, the vehicle chosen to propagandize our youth into seeing America as a fundamentally racist, unworthy, and unfair society in need of “fundamental transformation” revolves around a wealthy non-profit organization that enjoys a near-monopoly on a prestige-generating market niche. The Heartland Institute alerts us to what’s going on, as the College Board Advanced Placement Examination is being turned into a vehicle to denigrate American History.

It was 1993. I lived in an all-white, middle-class neighborhood, mostly Italian and Irish with some Albanian-Americans, in Staten Island, New York. I interviewed 22 people in order to rent my two-family home where I lived in the bottom apartment. Applicant Number 23, an Afro-American male greeted me at the door. He said his name was Curtis Black and he was a Wall Street broker. He was wearing a $2,000, blue pinstripe Brooks Brother suit. After the interview I told him I would call him if he was selected. There are encouraging signs that the very corrupt Democrat political machine in the California state legislature may be finally getting exposed, indicted, and, God willing, destroyed. The state of California is a corrupt banana republic, run by Democrats, and spending a yearly budget in excess of a hundred billion dollars a year. Evidently, the FBI and federal prosecutors have taken notice, and the arrest last month of powerful Democrat state Senator Ron Calderon was this morning followed by the indictment and arrest of another Democrat powerhouse, state Senator Leland Yee (snip) ABC7 News has learned they are making numerous arrests

Mireille Miller-Young is an Associate Professor of feminist studies at the University of California-Santa Barbara (UCSB). Recently charged with robbery and assault against Thrin Short, a 16-year-old Christian demonstrator in the UCSB “Free Speech Zone,” Miller-Young justified her violence against the teenager -- who was peacefully urging mothers not to kill their unborn children -- as the moral act of a conscientious objector against a terrorist. This cockeyed characterization seemed like the expression of a functional psychosis. When Barack Obama was running for president he promised, some say threatened, to fundamentally change America. The doubters now say he has fundamentally ruined America. Whichever way one views it, America is in serious decline. For a president that promised to reduce the national debt, Obama has added a massive seven trillion dollars to that debt. Under his presidency, America has accumulated as much new debt as it did in its first 227 years. He heads an Administration that produces food stamps, pries into people’s private lives, and sets government agencies against political opponents. Obama is following the guidebook of Saul Alinsky,

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas.
