Romney leaves Cruz off
his list of 2016 GOP stars

Associated Press, by Staff

WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney isn´t including tea party favorite Ted Cruz among the Republicans´ most electable potential presidential candidates in 2016. Who does the 2012 GOP nominee put on his list of "very capable people?" His ex-running mate, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. But Romney says New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie "stands out as one of the very strongest lights." Romney was asked on NBC´s "Meet the Press" whether Texas Sen. Cruz is a "potential light." Romney said he´s not going to disqualify anybody.

Comments:
Ah Yes, Willard the Loser making the rounds with his list of Next Generation Losers. All need to just Fade Away.

No surprise there; RINO is as RINO does. Supporters of "comprehensive immigration reform?" Wonderful candidates.

Romney said Christie "stands out as one of the strongest lights". Any questions?

Just what the Republican Party needs; another open borders advocating, gay marriage supporting, global warming alarming and Muslim sympathizing RINO running for POTUS.

Mittens lost. Obama won. Christie is a sell out. Anyone who supports big government and big taxes is off my list.

How could Mittens run against ObamaCare when he supported RomneyCare. While it was a state doing it which was within their right to do it, there is no way a decent man like Romney had any fire in his belly to take on the liar in Cheif, and now its too late.

So, on one side of the republican party (and country) we have those who believe in low taxes and smaller, efficient and effective government(and fiscally healthy!) and on the other, those who don´t. (They say they do but when they get to Washington they care more about belonging to the "club" and thus perpetuating "the system".) It´s clear cut. And what´s amazing is the name calling and attacks by the latter for wanting the former.

I am sick and tired of the latter. And for that reason among many others, I strongly support Ted Cruz. And NONE of the ones listed by Romney who exemplify exactly the problem, imho.

They say it´s the sincerest form of flattery. At a press conference yesterday President Obama asserted that when it comes to ObamaCare, the Republican Party "is going through the stages of grief--anger and denial and all that stuff--and we´re not at acceptance yet." We used the same gag in October, though ObamaCare supporters were the butt of our joke. And we were recycling our own material: We also invoked the Elisabeth Kübler Ross "stages of grief" way back in November 2000 in reference to Al Gore´s refusal to concede his loss to George W. Bush. The GOP has been hijacked. That’s right, hijacked. Over the past 100 years, an elite progressive minority has taken the Republican Party far afield from its conservative platform and the interests and values of its grassroots conservative base. I’ll admit that, in the aftermath of the disappointments of the 2012 elections, conservatives like me are angry. We are angry at being blamed for Mitt Romney’s defeat, when we argued from the beginning that he was a Big Government establishment politician and that if he ran a content-free campaign, he would lose. We are angry at the disrespect shown to limited-government constitutional conservatives

She no doubt had to make some tough decisions while at State, and has at least one big decision to make coming up in the next year or so. But the former Cabinet member and possible future presidential candidate may have been better served by a different title—like, say, Tough Decisions. Because Hard Choices has already been used. Regardless of how people feel about Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s standoff with the federal Bureau of Land Management over his cattle’s grazing rights, a lot of Americans were surprised to see TV images of an armed-to-the-teeth paramilitary wing of the BLM deployed around Bundy’s ranch. President Obama is suddenly upset about the alleged wage gap between men and women, but he´s not responding to a national economic crisis. Instead, he is attempting to revive the "war on women" theme that, according to Washington wisdom, helped carry Democrats to victory in 2012 and might do again in 2014. If this narrative were true, the White House could spend the year demonizing Republicans as women-hating creeps, driving women to the polls in November and helping the party hold the Senate. But the conventional analysis isn´t accurate. National exit polls from 2012 show scant success for the war-on-women

Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote in her forthcoming book that she was “hurt” and “angry” by 2012 reporting on her fraudulent claim to Native American heritage. “What really threw me, though, were the constant attacks from the other side,” Warren wrote in her book “A Fighting Chance.” “I would almost persuade myself that I was starting to get the hang of full-throttle campaigning and then — bam! Out of left field, the state Republican Party, or the Brown campaign, or some blogger, would launch a rocket at me,” Warren wrote, adding, ”I was stunned by the attacks.” This reporter (blogger?) reported extensively

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.
