Unnamed U.S. officials have told CNN and The Associated Press that Israeli warplanes destroyed a shipment of Russian missiles at a Syrian airbase. But officials in Tel Aviv won´t comment on the reported attack near the port of Latakia overnight on Wednesday. "We´re not commenting on these reports," a spokesman for the Israeli Defense Ministry told Reuters. Reuters also reported an explosion in the area and said one Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said he thought that Israel had carried out a strike, but stressed that he was not entirely certain. And the Idiot in the White House thinks Putin and the Russians are his allies helping him with the mess in Syria...I don´t think so.

What else is going to blow up in his face this month———or next?

Once again US officials can´t contain themselves. They´ve just got to run to the media and confirm an Israeli attack. You´d almost think this administration had it in for the Israelis.

Al-Aribiya is reporting these were SAMs headed to Hezbollah.

My apologies, OP. I didn´t know you posted this before I posted my JP article with the same info ten minutes later. I posted because this sentence in the JP article sickened me:

"It is unclear why the US would leak such information, as it could increase the pressure on Syria to retaliate against Israel."

I do think the reason is clear to most of us here.

The professor who refused to sign last week’s high-profile UN climate report because it was too ‘alarmist’, has told The Mail on Sunday he has become the victim of a smear campaign. Richard Tol claims he is fighting a sustained attack on his reputation by a key figure from a leading institution that researches the impact of global warming. Prof Tol said: ‘This has all the characteristics of a smear campaign. Here’s a situation where a black woman in the White House could make a difference. Earlier this week, the U.S. Army released its new appearance and grooming regulations, AR 670-1, and it was a real burn for African-American female soldiers. The updated rules ban twists, multiple braids bigger than a quarter of an inch in diameter, and dreadlocks of any size. Cornrows also can’t be bigger than a quarter of an inch. As of Wednesday afternoon, nearly 8,000 people had signed a petition calling on President Barack Obama to order the Army to reconsider the regulations because they are “racially biased.” The petition
