Krauthammer Responds to Limbaugh:
‘I’ve Had No Illusions About Obama’

Mediaite, by Andrew Kirell

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 10/28/2013 6:37:21 PM

Appearing by phone on Steve Malzberg‘s NewsMaxTV show Monday afternoon, Charles Krauthammer responded to Rush Limbaugh‘s criticism that the Washington Post columnist was “fooled” into believing President Obama was a “centrist” at the beginning of his first term in office. On his radio show, Limbaugh ran clips of Krauthammer and fellow columnist George Will telling Fox News that they initially thought Obama painted himself as a compromising centrist. “I intellectually don’t know how you can not figure out Barack Obama,” the radio host said. “A liberal is a liberal. I know Obama, for the low-information crowd, could be whatever you wanted

Comments:
I´m sorry Dr. K (who I really respect), but I have to agree with Rush on this one. If someone as sophisticated and brilliant as Dr. K could not see how 0bama would govern before his first election is shocking. All of us here knew what he was. All you had to do is read the myriad of articles about his background, history (what was not fiction) and ideology to know exactly what he would be. And it´s even worse than I thought it would be.

Agree 100% OP: We knew who the Magic Negro was and what he would do to America well-before the first election. It was obvious!

I´m with OP, plus Dr. Krauthammer said that Sarah Palin should "leave the room" when she coined the phrase "death panels". She had her facts exactly right and he was out in left field.

Krauthammer, Lowry, Ponnuru etc. are good at conservative rhetoric but aren´t good judges of character or tactics. When it´s time to fight they stand back and undermine the conservatives who are willing to get their hands dirty.

I´ll stick with Rush and Hannity.

Yeah, sure, Chuckles.

You had no "illusions" - - but Zippy "fooled" you into thinking he was a "centrist." But isn´t that exactly what Rush said - - that you were easily fooled and believed the lies you were told?

This guy really makes me sick - - very sick.

I took copious notes when I read articles about Obama and his life before moving to DC. I still have those notes. I knew then that Obama was a Socialist/Communist. How could the learned Krauthammer not know! He must have been in denial. How could a man who looked so good and talked so well be a Marxist. Looks are deceiving. Actions speak louder than words. He actually chose Communist friends and mentors. He joined The New Party in Chicago. Look it up. Rush has it right as usual.

Somebody could get the links, but I do remember Dr. Charles heaping praises on obama in the few weeks before the 2008 election. Krauthammer didn´t say "crease in his pants" but it was the same thing.

For me, I was never taken in by obama. I was a NYC Taxi driver in the early 1970´s and got "flim-flamed" by a black guy in Spanish Harlem. The guy talked just like obama. Once was enough for me.

Perhaps Rush is a bit too bold in telling the truth. I appreciate this kind of boldness.

OTOH the good Dr. is less forthright and more cautious. That´s not to say I don´t appreciate Krauthammer. He IS brilliant.

As much a I admire this guy he´s squirming a bit here. I wrote a guest column in my local paper on election week where I asked the question: "what would be the need for the US Constitution if it permitted any president in the future to fundamentally transform the nation without amendment? Isn´t the constitution supposed to prevent that from happening?"

Krauthammer should have asked that question and Rush had that right.

Excuse me, Dr K, but you are the one who said we had nothing to fear from an 0bama presidency. I and millions of others heard you say that on a fairly regular basis during the run up to the 2008 election.

I heard you say more than once, 0bama would have to govern from the center.

If that´s not an illusion, then what is it?

I --and I´m sure millions of others were screaming at the television loud enough to be heard in Tokyo.

You said you turned from being a Li, working for Walter Mondale, to being a Reagan Conservative because Liberalism does not work: you said you were a doctor, trained to look at empirical evidence, and empirical evidence told you that liberalism does not work.

You ignored all of the empirical evidence that 0bama is a Marxist, and you had the gall to tell us that he would have to govern from the center.

I love you Dr. K., and I admire you, but you ain´t half as smart as you think you are.

The problem with Dr K is he bought into the myth spread by his fellow Washington media/gov´t elitists, that obama is the most brilliant mind in the universe, when in fact he is not very smart at all. It didn´t take but a few minutes of research to find out who and what Obama was before the election. But, for those who couldn´t spare the time, Jeremiah Wright´s racist rants should have been enough to convince anyone that Obama was, and is, a danger to this country. I respect the learned Dr. Krauthammer but, I cringed too many times as I listened to him paint Obama as just another Democrat candidate and President. Rush is correct again.

Krauthammer and McCain, who condescendingly assured all of us racist rabble that we had nothing to fear from Obama´s presidency, were raised among white elites. McCain was from Navy "royalty" and Dr. K from the best and brightest of northeastern liberals. They never really knew, lived with or worked with anyone of another race--at least not on the same level as themselves. Out here in the real world, where we go to school with, live in neighborhoods with and work with people of all races, we are a little more savvy and less guilt-tripped than the elites. We don´t care that O went to Punahou, Columbia and Harvard or that he had an international childhood. We know a good person from a practiced liar, regardless of race. Dr. K was surely impressed that O´s elite credentials were similar to his own and that--wow--he could actually relate to
this clean, articulate fellow.

Dr. K (and George Will, among others) were far too gullible, and they failed to do due dilligence to discover Obama´s background. Had they done so, they could not have been fooled.

I never "loved" CK but at one point I did admire his thinking and his writing. That stopped the moment he assured us, back in the summer of 2008, that the Current Occupant would "govern from the center" -- when anyone who was halfway wide awake feared that he´d try to do exactly what he´s done, namely, dictate from the far left.

Since then, simple non-admiration has been replaced by active disgust. And this latest sleazy round of book-pumping has vindicated all of my worst suspicions about Krauthammer´s character.

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. The bushy-tailed visitor

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.” Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations
