The following script is from "Benghazi" which aired on Oct. 27, 2013. The correspondent is Lara Logan. Max McClellan, producer. When Chris Stevens was killed in Benghazi, Libya, on the anniversary of September 11th last year, it was only the sixth time that the United States had lost an ambassador to its enemies. The events of that night have been overshadowed by misinformation, confusion and intense partisanship. But for those who lived through it, there´s nothing confusing about what happened, and they share a sense of profound frustration because they say they saw it coming. No, the blame was on State Department. This will be a trailer for Hilldabeast trying to run for Prez. They just let the people perish with no effort to help.....

Also, they said the event was a coordinated and practiced attack. Nothing spontaneous here but the lies from Obamites.

I wouldn´t watch 60 minutes if I only had 59 minutes to live, but reading the transcript leads me to believe that there may be a revisionist undercurrent in the 5th column media, probably because their Obamacare insurance premiums just shot past the orbit of Uranus.

It was a good solid report. Only problem was...it just stopped. I thought it´d run past the commercial break but nothing, they went to another segment. Some sort of summary, that they requested comment from State Dept. or Hillary or someone accountable. Geez.

A counter-intuitive thought. Why is this story finally leaking out in the MSM? Is President Obama becoming too detrimental to the long-term goals of Progressivism; and now he can be sacrificed for the sake of the movement and using Benghazi will be the means?

Laura Logan continues to do great work on this story. The 60 Minutes segment makes it certain the administration knew at once this was not a demonstration caused by a video. Now, lets hope CBS will find out what the CIA was doing in Benghazi.

The only 2 guys with credibility interviewed on 60 Minutes were Col. Andy Wood and Greg Hicks. Both gave detailed heart wrenching testimony before Congressional Committees. Green Beret Wood testified about efforts to keep his heavy combat unit in Libya months before the Benghazi and how he was repeatedly overruled by State and DoD. His unit’s Benghazi role was replaced by combination of: 1) a British firm not on the approved vendors list, obviously Morgan’s employer, that hired unarmed guards with no experience using weapons; and, 2) local militia guys whose loyalty was questionable. IMHO Morgan never would have been there if Wood’s recommendations had been approved or if the US security companies on the approved vendor’s list had been hired.

At least CBS 60 Minutes resurfaced the issue, even though CBS owns Simon & Shuster which in turn owns Threshold Editions, the publisher of Morgan’s book.

The Legal Insurrection thread has the video of tonight’s broadcast...

#9: Over at Legal Insurrection some of the commenters are pointing out that the info in this story was already known by anyone who was skeptical of the WH/SD´s accounts. And from what I´ve read, that´s true. They took a year to investigate this? All they had to do was look at the reporting CBS´s own Sheryl Atkisson did and they´d have gotten all this and more.

So, why now? Because it´s likely nobody (who wasn´t already paying attention to this scandal) watched it with the programming competition elsewhere on the tube -- the lofos are watching the World Series. Now they can say they reported it without actually having that many people see it.

While it was welcome to see an MSM source finally present a revealing segment on what happened at Benghazi, it was also notable for what it DIDN´T say. Anyone who has worked as a newspaper reporter or investigative journalist would immediately notice that there were absolutely no follow-up questions of the parties being interviewed. It was startling.

Why didn´t they ask the obvious questions? Exactly who did you notify of your concerns? What was their response? Did you follow up with anyone else? If not, why not? What was the reason given for no attempt to send help? Who told you that? Who did they attempt to contact for help? Etc.

The initial line of questioning has posed and simply dropped with no meaningful follow-up. Amateurish, or purposely limited and obtuse? You decide.

The credibility (sic) of the "reporters" at CBS News, a major purveyor of the "Forward" lie, depends on their ability to keep the public absolutely in the dark about who and what Dear Leader really is. Nothing they broadcast will change this, ever.

Last week´s story on crooked but legal Leadership PACS in congress and the WH didn´t have media legs either, probably because it nailed mostly dems. These things are real extortion rackets which pad these people lifestyles, paying for 5 star overseas trips and front seat tickets at sporting events.

The Politico ran a hit piece on freshman republicans not giving any money to establishmnet members, when they´re the ones who have these fundraising PACS to supposedly help other candidates..

#15 is absolutely right. If this had happened under Bush, there would be Part Two, the Washington Connection, detailing how the administration dropped the ball.

What Logan does here is tell the story, but she studiously avoids the backstory. My reaction is, so CBS did a piece on Benghazi. Big deal.

Pathetic and sickening. The lives of those murdered are apparently of no value to the WH or the media.

After all of this, we still don´t know the person or persons responsible for refusing to authorize aid to the Benghazi attack, or did I miss that?

Morgan´s guards told him the armed Libyan militia that was supposed to defend the compound had fled, just as Morgan had predicted. His guards -- unarmed and terrified -- sounded the alarm, but they were instantly overwhelmed by the attackers [emphasis mine]

Why in God´s name were they unarmed? If you are guarding an Embassy in hostile territory, why weren´t they permitted to be armed? I´d like to know who is responsible for that asinine order, too.

#22 - I believe I heard early on or during Greg Hicks´ congressional testimony perhaps that Hillary didn´t want any armed guards there because [ready....?] she DIDN´T WANT TO OFFEND THE LOCALS by Americans waving guns around.....

She also wanted to turn this compound into an actual embassy and needed the locals´ cooperation, and luv.... Americans with guns don´t get that in heavily muslim-crazy outposts such as Benghazi.

She traded Americans´ safety and security for cooperation from our ´´hosts´´....

Anyone still paying attention to Benghazi wasn´t going to vote for PIAPS anyhow. GOP always has a chance to win in midterm elections when electorate is older, whiter, with fewer Lo-fo´s. But POTUS electorate is a different animal, one poised to favor the PIAPS, especially given that election of a woman would be ´historic.´ Benghazi will be a non-issue.

It took three years before the press turned on Jimmy Carter. Even then, the Democrats lost the next three presidential elections because Carter was so inept.

Maybe, just maybe, the MSM has figured out that if Obama serves out his term, he is going to take down the Democrats for far longer than three presidential elections. I have a teensy bit of hope that they have seen the future and are trying to reverse it while they still can.

I have only watched one TV show on network television in over five years (NCIS). I don´t even give the new shows a look. I´m thinking a lot of other people have done the same. Maybe someone has put a bug in their ears about their political leanings influencing their prime-time ratings. While good people were dying at the hands of terrorists, this pitiful excuse for a CIC was sleeping, getting ready for three days of golf in the sun. The entire U.S. Military should resign rather than serve under this abomination.

I guess the reason it is finally being covered by MSM is because the book written by the British contractor, who was interviewed on this segment, is soon to come out. The MSM will surely invite him on their shows at the request of the Bidden campaign, so 60 minutes wanted to get the scoop.

The best new information was that al quaeda had told them they would hit the red cross, the British and then the Americans. They all knew it was coming because al quaeda had already hit the other two and were flying their black al quaeda flags all over Libya.

I only wish they had followed with "no comments" from the state department and a replay of "what difference does it make".

Well it´s over one year since the 9/11 tragedy at Benghazi. CBS would have earned a lot more credit and viewership if they had brought these revelations forward before the Presidential election. The American people still are in the dark why Obama and Amb.Rice spread publically a fasehood to bolster Obama´s claim that El Quada was weakened because of his Drone flights. We still are not informed who gave the stand down order not to help the defenders of the compound.Panetta the next day stated there were no contingency assault forces or military bases that were nearby. This is an utter lie.Same with misinformation and cover up for the many survivors who were gagged and pressured not to give any account of what went wrong at Benghazi.Obama must realise he is accountable and responsible for his incompetance and his completely out of control administration. 40 years ago President Nixon left office with a high crime and misdemeanor which merited impeachment, using the IRS to politically advance the agenda of his Presidency. Obama has to own up and be charged with Benghazi, Fast and Furious and the IRS attempted criminal curruption which constitutes an Impeachable Offense.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and baby Prince George flew into Australia´s capital Canberra on Sunday night and made sure to co-ordinate their family colours of royal blue. The Royal Family stepped off the plane as a trio, Kate in an above-the-knee Stella McCartney dress, which matched George´s knit cardigan and William´s blue checked tie. After walking off the plane, Prince William shook hands with the Governor General of Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove at Fairbairn Airport. The premature presidential polls have started rolling out and are consistent: The race for the White House is as much a fantasy as “Game of Thrones” — filled with as many off-the-mark, off-their-rocker relatives and pretender-contenders to the throne as any “Song of Ice and Fire": REPUBLICANS -Jeb Bush, Son of George the First, brother of George the Second -The Good: Last-name recognition - The Bad: Last-name recognition: Brother Bush’s illegal war and the collapse of the economy. The Ugly: The father, the son and the holy “Good God! — not them again!” The Advice: Get out and go find

WASHINGTON — IT’S weird to be jealous of your car. But I am. Men look at my car with such naked lust, their eyes devouring the curves and chrome, that I often feel as though I’m intruding on an intimate moment. Women like it, too. They sometimes grin and give it a thumbs up as it growls by, and one girlfriend fondly refers to it as “the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Goddess car.” But the icon evokes a special feeling in men. It’s the Proustian madeleine of cars, stirring old dreams and new. Guys sometimes follow in the American beauty’s

California Unemployment Holds

California’s unemployment rate is rotten and holding steady. In March, according to the Los Angeles Times, the rate was 8.1%. In February, it was exactly the same. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the state only added 11,800 net new jobs in March, many of them in construction, government, education, and health services. The greatest gains were in professional and business services, with 3,100 new positions. But the jobs numbers in hospitality, manufacturing, and leisure dipped, and the biggest drop came in financial activities, as the slowing rate of mortgages forced banks to fire employees. On Easter weekend, Diogo Morgado portraying Jesus Christ is on screens everywhere. Morgado is the star of Son of God, by executive producers Mark Burnett and wife Roma Downey, which continues to thrive in theaters, pulling in $59 million since its debut Feb. 28. Downey believes there will be a "spike" in attendance at theaters this weekend because of the spiritual holiday for a film that has already proved a box-office force. "People are in that head-space and in that heart-space. It´s that time of the year where people are much more reflective and much more open to connecting with

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Bill joined “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey at the Revlon Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall Thursday, joking of Spacey’s Machiavellian character, “When I was president people accused me of murder all the time, made a show of investigating. Spacey’s president for 15 minutes and he gets away with murder.” Spacey, who sang during the event with Sting, Stephen Stills and James Taylor, also showed off his Johnny Carson impression, taking a swipe at the coverage of Flight

President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. It is quite possible that the ACA is

“On the third day, he rose again.” That line, from the Nicene Creed, is a foundational statement of Christian belief. It declares that three days after Jesus died on the cross, he was resurrected, a glimmer of the eternal life promised to believers. It’s the heart of the Easter story in seven little words. But how that statement is interpreted is the source of some of the deepest rifts in Christianity — and a stumbling block for some Christians, and more than a few skeptics. Did Jesus literally come back from the dead in a bodily resurrection, as many traditionalist
