Shocking admission on Army preparedness:
No training the last 6 months

Investor´s Business Daily, by Andrew Malcolm

Original Article

Posted By:SurferLad, 10/22/2013 9:09:00 AM

While the president of the United States pitched his crumbling healthcare program like a late-night infomercial barker, the Army´s chief of staff made a shocking admission about national defense. Gen. Ray Odierno told a Washington conference Monday that the U.S. Army had not conducted any training in the last six months of the fiscal year ending Sept. 30. And, he said, there currently are only two Army brigades rated combat-ready. That´s less than one-third what ‘s regarded as necessary for national security. [Snip] All this to comply with Obama administration orders to drastically shrink the Army and military spending.

Obama does not like the truth, and will likely fire Gen. Odierno for a uniform violation, or other absurdity.

But there has to be some groups training using 2 billion rounds of ammo in storage and are prepared to do damage. Wonder who they will be attacking?

I was on active duty, USAF, during Robert McNamara´s reign as secretary of defense, 1961-1964.
And while JFK was preaching war, McNamara was cutting us to the bone. Pilots were limited in flight time each month because of limits on fuel. And In my hospital, we had to use EWP (emergency war preparedness) medical supplies to take care of our patients.
Curtis Lemay was chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, and JFK fired him - and part of the reason was, probably, LeMay´s complaints about McNamara.

It gets even worse than that....At least 1 Combat Brigade was recently told they would be tasked to fight fires (no word about training them to be firefighters) and then were told that they would be tasked for "civil disturbance control".

They also went from getting $200 million last year to $5 million this year because of sequestration.

Since America decided 50 plus years ago that winning wars was not the objective, why even bother to have a military?

My Tin Foil Hat needs to go into the shop for a tune up.

The very first thought that popped into my head was, you don´t need training to stand in the streets of the United States of America and and shoot down protesting citizens.

Sending troops to fight fires is an annual occurrence. I worked for a 2 star HQ in central Texas, and routinely we would be tasked for 1000-3000 fire fighters, each summer.

And yes, they were trained, it was by the same guys who "barrycaded" the national monuments.

What this actually means is when some entity, realizing Obama´s criminal incompetence, moves on some aspect of America´s vital interest, our troops will be committed to battle trained to be little more than cannon fodder.

The US military must turn in their guns - bad, bad guns! - and begin community organising instead. That way, they´d be helping people instead of hurting people. Why is it only Democrats can see the logic of this?

No training in the last six months?...Obama informed the world exactly what he had in mind in 2008:

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we´ve set. We´ve got to have a civilian national security force that´s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."

Just went back to examine the Preamble of the Constitution and got an eye opener:

Form a more perfect union - does suing the States qualify?

Establish Justice - how does preventing purging of ineligible voters or vote ID fit?

Provide for the common defense - by not training our troops?

Secure the blessings of liberty - by drowning individuals with new regulations and bureaucracies?

Promote the general welfare - fewer jobs and expanded legalization of those here illegally?

Insure domestic tranquility - do Occupy Wall Street and Justice for Trayvon qualify?

I wondered when we elected a Community Organizer as President, whether being the leader of the Free World might just win out over the principles of breaking down the nation. The answer is NO.

Our fearless leader is carrying out the longterm goals of the brotherhood since he is the defacto leader of global jihad. From the GLobal Project for Palestine:
***Using deception to mask the intended goals of Islamist actions, as long as it does not conflict with Shari’a law;
***Avoiding social conflicts with Westerners locally, nationally or globally, that might damage the long-term ability to expand the Islamist powerbase in the West or provoke a backlash against Muslims;
***Establishing financial networks to fund the work of conversion of the West, including the support of full-time administrators and workers;
***Conducting surveillance, obtaining data, and establishing collection and data storage capabilities!!!!!!!!!!!!!;
***Putting into place a watchdog system for monitoring Western media to warn Muslims of “international plots fomented against them”;
***Developing a comprehensive 100-year plan to advance Islamist ideology throughout the world;
***Involving ideologically committed Muslims in democratically-elected institutions on all levels in the West, including government, NGOs, private organizations and labor unions;
******Instrumentally using existing Western institutions until they can be converted and put into service of Islam;
***Instituting alliances with Western “progressive” organizations that share similar goals;
***Creating autonomous “security forces” to protect Muslims in the West;
***Inflaming violence and keeping Muslims living in the West “in a jihad frame of mind”;
***Supporting jihad movements across the Muslim world (vis Arab Spring) through preaching, propaganda, personnel, funding, and technical and operational support;
***Making the Palestinian cause a global wedge issue for Muslims;
***Adopting the total liberation of Palestine from Israel and the creation of an Islamic state as a keystone in the plan for global Islamic domination;
***Instigating a constant campaign to incite hatred by Muslims against Jews and rejecting any discussions of conciliation or coexistence with them;
***Actively creating jihad terror cells within Palestine;
***Linking the terrorist activities in Palestine with the global terror movement; and
***Collecting sufficient funds to indefinitely perpetuate and support jihad around the world.

It´s not as though all these clues to Obama´s anti-American anti-Christian agenda are subtle. They are overt and the media is beginning to ferret them out.

Using the lessons of German and Italian history (to name just two), what does America do about this right now? Not six months from now, but now.

Military aviators will die as a result of the CinC´s willful disregard of his primary duty: provide for the common defense.

Piloting jet fighters and high performance helicopters requires constant proficiency training, aka frequent flying. Without this training, accidents will happen, either in peacetime or, God forbid, in combat.

Just like Rome. When the Legions were not out on campaigns and camped outside of Rome, they grew fat and lazy and became easy prey for the barbarians that they had pillaged in the past.

I don´t believe #10´s comments were directed at the military but toward their inept leadership. Ask any good soldier what he thinks about current LGBT policies and sending mothers of little children out on the battlefield.

It is now up to the citizens to defend themselves. The Second Amendment is more important now than ever.

#10 was not attacking our military, they are the victims of Obama´s political agenda. We do have to face reality though. Panetta is to be blamed for allowing all this focus on social engineering vs. military readiness.
I blame Congress for allowing all of this to occur on their watch. They are nothing more than a bunch of do nothing gas bags. Why wasn´t General Odierno talking his head off on Capitol Hill for the past six months? Shame on him for letting it go on this long without shouting it from the hilltops.

As a woman who worked at McDonald’s to get through college…. as the mom of two young daughters … and as the elected representative of thousands of hardworking women, I have always supported equal pay for equal work. And if a woman is being paid less than a man because of gender discrimination, that is both wrong and against the law. The protections provided to women and others in the Equal Pay Act must be enforced to make certain there is no pay disparity because of discrimination.

Hi, everybody. Earlier this week was Equal Pay Day. It marks the extra time the average woman has to work into a new year to earn what a man earned the year before. You see, the average woman who works full-time in America earns less than a man — even when she’s in the same profession and has the same education. That´s wrong. In 2014, it’s an embarrassment. Women deserve equal pay for equal work. This is an economic issue that affects all of us. Women make up about half our workforce. And more and more, they’re our families’ main breadwinners. So it’s good for everyone when women are paid fairly.

It was really just a matter of time until Kathleen Sebelius was looking up at the Obama bus passing over her bureaucratic body. On April Fool´s Day when President Obama attempted his ObamaCare victory lap with unsubstantiated enrollment numbers and failed to mention Sebelius even once, her fate was sealed.Obama is not known as Mr. Gratitude by anyone. But staring right at Sebelius in the front row of the Rose Garden and praising only Nancy Pelosi and Dick Durbin, of all people, for the trumped-up success of ObamaCare and not even mentioning his Health and Human Services secretary after five years of tough, loyal duty was

President Obama and wife Michelle are back on the road again, this time in Texas to harvest more Democrat dollars for the looming November midterm election. The previously-scheduled fundraising foray was tacked onto Obama´s memorial speech Wednesday at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. Why let a nationally-televised shooting memorial go to waste when you can use such an official activity to cut the Democratic Party´s cost of political transportation on Air Force One for two fundraisers in Houston and another one today in Austin?

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like

President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. It is quite possible that the ACA is

“On the third day, he rose again.” That line, from the Nicene Creed, is a foundational statement of Christian belief. It declares that three days after Jesus died on the cross, he was resurrected, a glimmer of the eternal life promised to believers. It’s the heart of the Easter story in seven little words. But how that statement is interpreted is the source of some of the deepest rifts in Christianity — and a stumbling block for some Christians, and more than a few skeptics. Did Jesus literally come back from the dead in a bodily resurrection, as many traditionalist
