Rep. Peter King thinks Republicans in the House could have bargained for much more than they´re getting in a pending Senate deal, if only the House had kept the government open in September and focused on negotiations over the federal debt limit. "Instead we look like the crazies," King, a Republican from Long Island, told me this afternoon from Washington. "Shutting down the government, throwing barricades against the White House, and having Ted Cruz reading Dr. Seuss, this is like the theater of the absurd. Except that it´s serious."
Comments: The only one who looks crazed is beady-eyed avaricious little tyrant King...
King began to look like a tired old geezer with a few too many strokes under his belt ~ about 6 weeks ago.
Before that he was just tiresome.
I think if anyone got damaged, he, McCain and Boehner took the prize.
However, Obamugabe said he wouldn´t negotiate and he didn´t, but he did take a moment to pass out some loot. This guy is working on the space that used to be Hardings ~ that was third from last (Buchanan, Carter and probably Rosevelt´s 4th term round out that group.)
He´ll go down as totally corrupt, and Reggie Love? What does Malia think of his visits?
Forget it, King. Nobody should be declaring war on any of our own. Some of us don´t agree with Cruz´s defund tactic, but that doesn´t mean we´re not on the same side in the end. The goal is turning ObamaCare into one of those toothless old laws that eventually get taken off the books. We can probably all agree on that. To spend time declaring "war" or another Republican is not helpful. Peter King is under the delusion that he can be a credible presidential candidate. He should get out of New York City a little more often. and he would learn differently.
Pete King needs to be carted away to the looney bin. His continuing rants about Cruz are a desperate desire for continued attention from the media. All you have to do is yell the latest slur at a Republican and the media comes running with a microphone or a paper & What more proof does one need of the media´s bias?
King is another Rockefeller R, typical of the political trash that is the NYSGOP; a dead party. He´ll be gerrymandered out next time, so no loss. In the meanwhile, time to sent him cranky e-mails to wind him up, then watch him explode.
mr. king your are a bore. Please take this as an open invitation to come to my ome and kiss my butt anytime you want to. My only regret is I cannot vote you out of office. We are mad and tired and discouraged because the WH and DC is over run wit IDIOTS! So go away and just shut up.
At one time, Peter King spoke as a pragmatic politician and with common sense. He was a great alternative to the ´mumbler in chief.´ Recently (I guess since he announced his plans to run for president) all he does is criticize everyone but mostly anyone in the Republican party. I once thought he would make a good president but this is the end. I couldn´t vote for him as dog catcher. He really does sound old and tired.
A sad day in American History...Longtime GOP Congressman Peter T. King, of New York´s 2nd District, is now considered one of the leading candidates for The Dark Side´s Annual Benedict Arnold Memorial Trophy, to be presented at year´s end in New York City. /s
It´s time to start kicking some arses. Maybe he would be happier with the socialist party on the left..the Dems.
It amazes me that WE on the right do not call out who is backing the Dems, like they call out the T.E.A. party is backing the right. That should be done a daily basis....on the hour, every hour, on the floor of the Senate and House like THEY do!!!!!
Who the heck does Peter King think he is? He is no better than Obama when it comes to doing the right thing. King is absurd and hopefully those in his district will realize that and throw that bum out.
This has reached the level of personal attack of the one on one variety. It sounds like he hates Sen Cruz personally. This, of course, has no place within one´s own party. It is embarrassing and ugly. Someone should take him aside and reason with him as has been suggested.
RINOS know all about 0bama´s agenda of impending policy disasters, which could be avoided an exactly of which most of the GOP Reps. are trying to prevent as their votes reflected last night. ...RINOS apparently are willing to subject America to as much suffering as the statist dem pols´ irresponsible policies are demonstrably resulting in. They all need to read their oaths again. ...And simply be honest with the American people.
ALINSKY RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)
Who is King working for?
Unfortunately, as bad as he is we need him in the body count that determines the Speaker of the House. He gets elected in his district. If he is destroyed a Dim will get elected in his place - one more step on the way to another Pelousy Speakership.

Peter King is certainly a jealous old fart It is magical to see him morphing into such an unknown creature each time he appears on camera. His eyes become smaller, and much more ´beady´. His head seems to grow by a few millimeters, and his entire body seems to shrink to the size of a hobbit. He must think of himself as ´Presidential material´ and plots his way to see that happen. He pays John McCain for instructive lessons in how to be an obnoxious jackass.
LUNENBURG, Mass. —Investigators say the mother of a Lunenburg teen whose home had racist graffiti sprayed on it last month is a "strong suspect" in the case. According to the search warrant, Isaac Phillip´s mother, Andrea Brazier, replied "OK" when an FBI agent said she was the one who spray painted graffiti on the house. Watch Report "Most of the leads we have followed up throughout the investigation have led back towards the house," said Lunenburg police Lt. Michael Luth. When asked if police considered Brazier a strong suspect, Luth responded, "I would." Court documents also claim Brazier made false statements and then asked
The fight for Christmas took a hit this week when politics bigfooted a troupe of adorable little ballet dancers performing “The Nutcracker.” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is scheduled to interview President Obama on Thursday night at American University as part of the “Hardball College Tour.” MSNBC approached AU to host the chat, and officials jumped at the chance for a free, hour-long commercial for the university and its students. But the interview, announced Tuesday morning, abruptly kicked the Ballet Petite’s rehearsals of”The Nutcracker” out of AU’s Greenberg Theatre. That didn’t sit well with the ballet school’s staff, teachers and parents who
Well, it’s not like there’s any danger of this stuff crossing the porous border into the US… Tepojaco (Mexico) (AFP) – Mexican authorities scrambled Wednesday to find a truck containing “extremely dangerous” radioactive material used in medical treatment that was stolen by two gunmen two days ago, officials said. The white Volkswagen Worker truck was transporting a teletherapy device containing cobalt-60 when it was stolen Monday in the central Hidalgo state town of Tepojaco, near Mexico City, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency. (Snip)So they found the container, just not the incredibly dangerous material that was in it. The
A fourth student at the University of California Santa Barbara has come down with a strain of meningitis similar to the one that sickened eight Princeton University students in New Jersey, authorities said. The California students began getting sick about three weeks ago, according to a university statement. One student had to have both legs amputated, ABC News has learned. "He´s from my hometown. I hope he is doing well," said David Burkow, another student. "It´s just kind of scary because there is a constant fear." The California school has suspended social events, including sorority and fraternity parties, to avoid
With a ruling by a federal judge on Tuesday that Detroit is eligible to enter bankruptcy, the fate of the city’s art collection — one of the finest in the country — now moves front and center in the legal battle over the city’s future. But the judge, Steven W. Rhodes, questioned for the first time the push by some of the city’s largest creditors to sell paintings and sculpture from the Detroit Institute of Arts, a sale that could generate hundreds of millions of dollars or more. While he did not say specifically that the art should be spared,
WASHINGTON – The National Transportation Safety Board has removed the Association of Commuter Rail Employees as a participant in its investigation into the December 1 fatal derailment of the Metro-North passenger train in the Bronx that killed four people. Organizations designated as parties to investigations sign an agreement to abide by NTSB rules during an investigation, but on Tuesday, the chairman of the union, Anthony Bottalico, spoke to the media and discussed what he thought happened during the derailment and engineer William Rockefeller. “While we value the technical expertise that groups like ACRE can provide during the course of an investigation, it
A truck carrying potentially "extremely dangerous" radioactive material has been stolen in Mexico, the UN atomic watchdog said Wednesday. The International Atomic Energy Agency said the truck was carrying cobalt-60, used for radiotherapy treatment to combat cancer. An IAEA statement Wednesday said the truck was stolen Monday while taking the material to a radioactive waste storage center from the northern city of Tijuana. The IAEA said the heist occurred in Tepojaco, a town near Mexico City, and describes the load as `´extremely dangerous" if damaged or removed from its protective shielding. It said Mexican authorities are searching for the material. The statement provided
BEIRUT: Hassan Lakkis, the Hezbollah commander who was assassinated outside his Beirut home late Tuesday, had played a key role in advancing the group’s technological capabilities in its fight against Israel and had brushes with death on many occasions, sources told The Daily Star Wednesday. “Lakkis was involved in scientific development and played a key role in developing Hezbollah’s unmanned aerial vehicles program,” a source close to the Lebanese group told The Daily Star on condition of anonymity A security source, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said Lakkis was also in charge of smuggling arms to Gaza and Egypt.
Four months into his tenure at CNN, Jeff Zucker woke up in his New York City apartment and realized that he couldn’t move his face. “You wake up and you look in the mirror and your face can´t move and you think you had a stroke, and then you go to the emergency room and they diagnose it,” Zucker told Capital during a wide-ranging interview. Zucker was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy in June, a form of facial paralysis that renders affected people unable to control facial muscles on one side of their face. “It´s definitely better than it was, but
Young Americans are turning against Barack Obama and Obamacare, according to a new survey of millennials, people between the ages of 18 and 29 who are vital to the fortunes of the president and his signature health care law. The most startling finding of Harvard University´s Institute of Politics: A majority of Americans under age 25--the youngest millennials--would favor throwing Obama out of office. The survey, part of a unique 13-year study of the attitudes of young adults, finds that America´s rising generation is worried about its future, disillusioned with the U.S. political system, strongly opposed to the government´s domestic surveillance apparatus,
Lebanon´s militant Shi´ite group Hezbollah said on Wednesday one of its commanders was killed outside his Beirut home overnight in an attack it blamed on Israel. The group said in a statement that Hassan al-Laqqis, "who served the resistance his entire life," was killed at around midnight in the southern Hadath district of the Lebanese capital. A previously unknown group, Ahrar al-Sunna Baalbek brigade, claimed responsibility for the attack in a message on Twitter. The group´s name suggested it had Lebanese Sunni Muslim links. Al-Laqqis was on his way home when he was killed, the official Hezbollah television station Al-Manar said. It
The New Jersey waitress whose story has been questioned after she claimed she received an anti-gay note instead of a tip on a restaurant bill was discharged under dishonorable terms from the Marines last spring after she stopped showing up, NBC 4 New York has learned. (Snip)NBC 4 New York learned Wednesday from a Pentagon source that Morales was dismissed from the Marine Reserve Corps in May because she wasn´t attending drills. It wasn´t immediately clear how often those drills were held, and Morales did not respond to a request for comment. Morales was formally discharged, or released from the Marines,
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
Barack Obama did not tell the whole story this autumn when he tried to make the case that Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack near Damascus on 21 August. In some instances, he omitted important intelligence, and in others he presented assumptions as facts. Most significant, he failed to acknowledge something known to the US intelligence community: that the Syrian army is not the only party in the country’s civil war with access to sarin, the nerve agent that a UN study concluded – without assessing responsibility – had been used in the rocket attack. In the months before the attack,
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the hapless, goalpost-shifting so-called "architect" of Obamacare, told Fox News´ Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that President Barack Obama´s promise "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" was absolutely true--with one important caveat: if you like your doctor, "you can pay for it." Wallace grilled Dr. Emanuel, challenging his false claims that California´s enrollment was keeping pace with the percentage of the young population necessary to keep the system afloat, and pointing out that the president´s promise on doctors would collapse once people lost their insurance or their
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. President Obama The Obama Administration´s current shipbuilding plan shrinks the size of
The U.S. isn´t called "America the Beautiful" for nothing. Each year, millions of tourists come from home and abroad to see the country´s majestic landscape and iconic sites, from the Grand Canyon to the Statue of Liberty. But there are also cool, quirky attractions, like Vermont´s Ben & Jerry´s Factory and Tennessee´s Graceland, the former home of Rock and Roll King Elvis Presley. From California to New York and everywhere in between, the country is chock-full of incredible attractions that keep luring in visitors. Here are the best tourist attractions in every state.
Although the jobless rate in November fell to its lowest level since he took office, President Obama called on Republican lawmakers Saturday to spend tens of billions on unemployment benefits that are set to expire this month. “It shouldn’t be a partisan issue,” Mr. Obama said in his weekly address. But he said the “economic lifeline” is in jeopardy. “All because Republicans in this Congress — which is on track to be the most unproductive in history — have so far refused to extend it” Mr. Obama said. If Congress doesn’t act before lawmakers leave on their holiday break, about
Many people could die as extreme weather becomes common. There will be more freak winds like the October storm, which killed four people. Heatwaves will be lethal and the sea level will rise, leaving coastal towns at risk of being swamped by storm surges. Sir Brian Heap, president of the European Academies Science Advisory Council, said he felt “obliged” to issue the warning after a new study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. It comes on the back of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, which has killed more than 5,000 people. Sir Brian said: “Given the tragic events this
Call me Grinch, call me Scrooge. Call me Lord Voldemort of the Yuletide. None could be worse than sending me a holiday card with glossy photographs of your lovely, smiling family. My wife, Emily, and I place your cards like trophies on our shelves, continuing an old-school practice that began about 175 years ago as a way of maintaining relationships as families and friends moved far and wide. Today’s cards may appear more personalized — with photos of spouses, kids and pets, and distribution lists much smaller than a sprawling collection of Facebook friends. But when I flip over the photo
Chris Matthews is crazy. Nevertheless, when left-wingers talk openly with one another, their craziness can be revealing. That is the case, I think, with this remarkable MSNBC clip. Matthews, fresh from his kneepad interview with President Obama, praises what he terms a uniquely brilliant insight by Al Sharpton: South Africa’s white politicians of the apartheid era were more patriotic than today’s Republicans: I haven’t heard anything as smart as what I heard Reverend Sharpton say a moment go in five years. The difference between the way F.W. de Klerk handled the need for change and the election – democratic election
