The liberal media have taken sides in the government shutdown debate and not surprisingly holds only one party to blame - the GOP. In the last week liberal anchors, reporters and writers have depicted fiscal conservatives in terms usually reserved for terrorists as they’ve hyperbolically charged that Republicans were being run by a “suicide caucus” that is holding America “hostage.” The following is the Top 8 list of the Nastiest Liberal Media Quotes Blaming the GOP for the Shutdown: (Videos after the jump) -8. Smoking gun exposed- D.C.
police covers up giving Feinstein

Washington Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier seems to think that gun-control laws don’t apply to the liberal elite. The police chief helped Sen. Dianne Feinstein acquire “assault weapons,” which are illegal to possess in the District, for a news conference early this year to promote a ban on these firearms, then tried to cover up the police involvement. Now, a response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request reveals Chief Lanier’s shocking willingness to bend the rules for partisan and ideological purposes. Lobbyist Chuck DeWitt emailed Chief Lanier on Christmas Eve last year. “Sen. Feinstein has asked us to

WASHINGTON- U.S. President Barack Obama meets with the House Democratic caucus Wednesday to discuss the budget impasse, the White House said. Fox News reported Senate Democrats, as well as House and Senate Republicans, were expected to be invited later. As the partial shutdown of the federal government dragged into its second week, conservative House Republicans said they´d review a plan Wednesday to split off raising the debt limit from the shutdown in White House talks, lawmakers said. The rank-and-file strategy, conflicting with House GOP leadership plans to broaden the debate beyond funding the Affordable Care Act to other spending areas,

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes:
The Problem is the Constitution

There’s a narrative emerging among leftists pundits, commentators, and columnists that the current government shutdown is due to a fundamental flaw in the American form of government. Chris Hayes on MSNBC (ya know, the guy that looks like a 16 year old wannabe economist?) recently dedicated an entire segment of his show to exposing the “fatal flaw in our Constitution”. According to MSNBC’s woefully statist anchor, our Constitutional form of government inhibits the ability for government to adequately (or speedily) race toward action. Which, in a way, is true. Fascism, in comparison, enables for a rapid-response-government that forfeits deliberation for

Study: Dads shoulder more housework,
child care; moms still exhausted

Dads devote more time to caring for children and keeping up the house than they did decades ago. They spend almost as much time as moms romping with kids in the yard or on the rug. But as dads step up, moms are still wiped out. Whether at work or at home — and even at leisure — mothers feel more exhausted than fathers, a study shows. Despite strides toward gender equality, mothers still shoulder much more work at home, especially when it comes to humdrum tasks such as changing diapers and doing the laundry, the Pew Research Center found

Fox News Channel’s “The Kelly File” handily beat rivals in total viewers, an auspicious start for the network’s first new primetime program in more than a decade, as well as its host, Megyn Kelly. According to early Nielsen totals, Fox News Channel’s “The Kelly File” lured nearly 2.1 million viewers between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m,. Monday evening, compared with 997,466 for MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show” and 529,946 for CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.” The figures could change slightly. MSNBC’s “Maddow” secured more viewers among audiences between 25 and 54 years of age, the demographic most coveted by advertisers in news

Connecticut gun dealers see
ammunition shortage due to laws
Associated Press, by Staff    Original Article

WATERBURY, Conn. –Gun dealers in Connecticut are reporting a shortage in ammunition they say is due to laws restricting guns. At Northwest Sporting Goods and Supply in Winsted, for example, customers may not buy more than 200 rounds of .22-caliber ammunition. The Republican-American reports that owner Bill Berlinski says he or his staff calls wholesalers across the country to find ammunition. He says manufacturers are making bullets as fast as they can and retailers are selling them just as quickly. The shortage began shortly after a gunman killed 20 children and six educators at a Newtown school in December.

Gov. actuaries say ObamaCare

President Obama has made many promises about his signature health care plan, but one of the simplest was an assurance that it would lower national health care spending and save every family thousands of dollars. For example, in May 2009 he hailed "comprehensive health care reform -- so that we can do what I pledged to do as a candidate and save a typical family an average of $2,500 on their health care costs in the coming years." But now government actuaries have reached a different conclusion, finding that ObamaCare will actually increase health care spending by $621 billion over

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie refused to rule out a 2016 presidential run Tuesday night during the first debate in his gubernatorial re-election campaign. The Republican governor said he could "walk and chew gum at the same time," balancing the demands of a second term and his political future. "I am not going to declare tonight ... that I am or I´m not running for president," Christie said and later added, "I won´t make those decisions until I have to." The comments underscored the broader stakes for the outspoken governor during an event that could be a tuneup for a

The White House on Tuesday denied reports that the administration is cutting off aid to Egypt following a recent outbreak of violence. “The reports that we are halting all military assistance to Egypt are false,” said National Security Council spokesperson Caitlin Hayden, in a statement. “We will announce the future of our assistance relationship with Egypt in the coming days, but as the President made clear at UNGA, that assistance relationship will continue.” (Snip) The statements came after CNN on Tuesday night, citing a U.S. official, reported that the Obama administration planned to suspend all of its military aid to Egypt

Mr. Obama has never been a particular fan of the First Amendment guarantee of the free exercise of religion, but he never attacked it in so direct a way as with his feud with Roman Catholic Church. He’s threatening to punish “contract priests” hired to supplement the chaplain corps. There are only 234 active-duty commissioned military chaplains to care for 275,000 soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who profess the Catholic faith. It’s not nearly enough, so the military services employ priests on contract to perform Sunday services, weddings and baptisms on base. No federal funds are used, and these priests

Over the first four days the new online health insurance exchanges were open last week, more than 8 million people visited them, according to the Obama administration. At the very least, this casts doubt on the Republican claim that Americans hate Obamacare and want it repealed. It seems millions of people desperately want the coverage the law will allow them to get, regardless of their medical histories. Alas, the administration managed to turn the experience for most of those visitors into a nightmare. Websites crashed, refused to load, or offered bizarre and incomprehensible choices. Even though the system was shut down

Families of fallen military service members usually receive a "death gratuity" of $100,000 for interment and expenses within days, but not during government shutdown. They paid the ultimate price serving their country — but their government can’t spare a cent to cover their funerals. The stooges on Capitol Hill added insult to tragedy Tuesday when it was revealed that the families of four soldiers and a Marine who were killed in Afghanistan have not received a $100,000 “death gratuity” because of the government shutdown....

Tractor-trailer drivers will intentionally clog the inner loop of the Washington, D.C., beltway beginning on the morning of Oct. 11, according to a coordinator of the upcoming "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" rally. Organizers of the three-day ride want to call attention to a litany of trucker frustrations and express their disapproval of national political leaders. Earl Conlon, a Georgia trucker who is handling logistics for the protest, told U.S. News tractor-trailer drivers will circle the beltway "three lanes deep" as he rides with other participants to Congress to seek the arrest of congressmen

From its earliest days, the Obama Administration has operated from a “community organizer” worldview, characterized by an “us” against “them” perspective. The President has repeatedly and in a variety of circumstances said, “Elections have consequences, and I won” as an excuse for yet another executive order, non-Constitutional decision, or “in-your-face” arrogant action. The President goes through the motions of listening to others: he claims to be bipartisan; he hosts White House confabs and talks about the need for compromise, but he always ends up saying, “I won,” and ends any pretense of discussion or negotiation. He explains that, as President,

President Obama ordered the weekend raids that captured a top al Qaeda operative in Libya and failed to capture a senior leader of the al-Shabab terrorist network in Somalia, the White House said Monday. Presidential press secretary Jay Carney said the Libya raid, in which U.S. agents seized Abu Anas al-Libi, were carried out under authorization granted by Congress in 2001. It was a “rendition” of the kind that Mr. Obama railed against when he was a candidate for president. “This operation was made possible by the superb work and coordination across our national security agencies and the intelligence

I was at a dinner recently where I happened to be seated at a table with new acquaintances of the liberal political persuasion. We went around the table introducing ourselves. As I said that I work for a "conservative website," a man at the far end of the table made his displeasure known by booing. He wasn´t kidding. These were professional, accomplished, senior members of the community. They had never met a conservative before. Their first reaction was hostile. No one chided the man who booed, or apologized on his behalf for his rudeness, or laughed to break the tension.

Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney intends to buy a $9million Park City, Utah ski chalet to complement his family homes in California, Boston, and New Hampshire. The 8,730 foot vacation mansion is in the ski destination´s Deer Valley resort and, while it doesn´t have a $55,000 car elevator like Romney´s La Jolla home, the chalet does rest right on the slope and may be skied into and out of. The six bedroom home´s most noticeable features is its prevalence of wood. The lodge-like home features wooden floors, walls, and furniture that brokers call Utah rustic. The home was once featured

WASHINGTON- The NFL is prepared to meet with an Indian tribe pushing for the Washington Redskins to drop the team´s nickname. Just not this week. As league owners gathered Monday in the nation´s capital for their fall meetings, the Oneida Indian Nation held a symposium across town to promote their "Change the Mascot" campaign. Oneida representative Ray Halbritter said the NFL was invited to attend. Instead, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said, a meeting has been scheduled for next month - and could happen sooner.
