$175 premium for a young, healthy
student? Thanks, Obamacare!

Washington Examiner (DC), by Ashe Schow

Original Article

American media outlets were finally able to track down a mythical creature — a person who actually signed up for the Obamacare exchanges online. But that person, Chad Henderson, admitted to the Washington Post that the premium for the plan he enrolled in was $175. Ouch! Wasn’t Obamacare supposed to lower premiums? Henderson’s going to pay a $175 premium and he won’t even receive vision or dental insurance. He has contacts, so not having vision insurance is kind of a bum deal. Henderson, as far as we know a healthy, 21-year-old college student at Chattanooga State Community College who lives in

When you are a healthy 21 year old buying into a plan that has to cover anybody with a pre-existing terminal illness and that covers everything except toothpaste and shampoo, what did you expect. I am surprised that it was that cheap!!!

It was never expected to function. Its failure is the means to their true end, the destruction of the system as we know it, with only Government, God help us, there to pick up the pieces.

It is criminal, and I hope it is eventually recognized and acknowledged as such.

If these college kids buy insurance and pay the premium out of their student loans,it only adds insult to injury as the interest compounds on the loan. Some of them could be so brainwashed that they would sign up as a show of support for Obama.

But this story is exactly why the republicans need to hold fast on the shutdown. If this is true,it would show that even being low income won´t save you from the wrath of this demonic plan.

Presume a person is working a job that pays $15/hr. at 38 hrs./week. No OT. One week paid vacation and Holidays. Five days per week, which=1976Hrs./yr. Gross pay=$29,640/yr.
Married, 2 Children.
Income tax: About $3k to $4k.
Real estate and school tax: $9k.
State Tax: 4%. = $ 1,1385.60
FICA 7.5% = $2223.
Sub Net = $15,417.00
Obamacare = (using 12mo X $175 X 4 family members. $6000.
subnet-6000 = $9,415 Net/Year
Something very wrong with my calcs.
It leaves the guy with just $181.06 per week to feed his family, pay utilities, car insurance, cable and etc.
Food Stamps? Town Pantry?
I may be way off in these calcs. I don´t think so. $40K in the pocket is barely enough these days. OH!
I FORGOT HIS COMPANY PAID FOR HIS HEALTH CARE! SHAME ON ME.

I would not be able to go to college today. The tuition has gone up 4 times faster than inflation in the last 30 years. I had a major medical high deductible policy. It cost me $15 per quarter. In today´s dollars that would be about $50 per quarter. You´re not allowed to even buy those kind of plans anymore. A young college student does not need these Cadillac health plans. My whole time in college I never needed a doctor even once. But I had that major medical in case of something unexpected.

Insurance is supposed to be for the unexpected. It should not cover your normal operating expenses. It´s like car insurance that pays for my gas. Ridiculous.

The majority of people I know under the age of 40 are entirely under-performing compared to counterparts of 30 years ago. I owned a house by the time I was 27 with no financial help other than a conventional mortage. These young people will not sacrifice what little money they have for something forced on them and which does not provide immediate self-gratification. It would be wiser to just implement a 100% sales tax on smart phones and shoes. Epic Fail ObamaCare.

As usual; everything involved with a liberal is a lie. A liberal will lie about anything to further the ideology. And liberals will congratulate each other for their lies. This is why liberalism should be defined as a religion. Liberalism, like Islam, condones lying if it benefits the movement. Don´t ever believe a liberal.

Any chance of obamacare ever working depended upon everybody being forced to pay into the system out of fear of breaking the law. Since the law itself is illegal, very few young people are going to comply, either out of defiance or because they just don´t have the money. All of the exemptions handed out to obama´s friends make it even worse for the suckers left who are expected to pay. This thing is going to flop in its first year.

U.S. military assets in the Black Sea are on high alert amid reports Ukraine troops traded gunfire Tuesday with pro-Russian militants. A journalist with Associated Press reported intense gunfire at an airport in eastern Ukraine after the government sent in army troops to retake control from militiamen loyal to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The mayor of Kramatorsk told the Associated Press that Ukrainian troops have now occupied the military airport and are blocking its entrance. The action comes a day after the revelation a Russian fighter jetted buzzed a U.S.S. destroyer multiple times over the Black Sea.

House Democrats are rolling out a new strategy to target 30 House Republicans on immigration reform during the two-week congressional recess, marking a last-ditch effort to force GOP action on a legislative overhaul. The new pressure tactic includes a memo distributed to those 30 districts held by Republicans who have expressed public support for some sort of immigration reform, many of them backing a pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants in the United States. Scott Walker has a 16 point lead (56-40) among likely voters in his race for governor, according to a poll from Wisconsin Public Radio/St. Norbert’s. Among registered voters, his lead is essentially the same (55-40). The survey was conducted between March 24 and April 3. A Marquette University survey conducted between March 20-23 also showed Walker with a nice, though smaller, lead. In that poll, Walker outdistanced Democrat Mary Burke 48-41. Revealingly, Walker fares well in an electorate that does not seem particularly conservative and that, if anything, appears to be slightly to the left of American voters in general.

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

President Obama pulled a surprise move Monday at the White House’s Easter Prayer Breakfast when he selected Gene Robinson to lead the closing prayer. Robinson is famously known as the first openly gay Episcopal bishop. Talking Points Memo’s Tom Kludt spotted the following tweet from Robinson, who was in attendance: (Tweet) Robinson, 66, became diocesan bishop of New Hampshire in March 2004. He retired in January 2013 and is currently a senior fellow at the progressive

A Russian fighter jet made multiple, close-range passes near an American warship in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes Saturday amid escalating tensions in the region, a U.S. military official said Monday. In the first public account of the incident, the official said the Russian Fencer flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a Navy destroyer, at about 500 feet above sea level. Ship commanders considered the actions provocative and inconsistent with international agreements, prompting the ship to issue several radio queries and warnings. The fighter appeared to be unarmed and never was in danger of
