Obama: Transforming America
National Review Online, by Victor Davis Hanson

“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” — Barack Obama, October 30, 2008 “We are going to have to change our conversation; we’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation.” — Michelle Obama, May 14, 2008 There certainly is no question that Barack Obama wants to change the United States. And there clearly is no doubt that such fundamental transformation is difficult, given our tripartite system of government — even though Obama entered office with large Democratic majorities in

FTA: "In his political style, Obama seems to operate on the medieval concept of exemption. Through lofty spoken abstractions, he excuses low behavior. Praising “civility” allows you to call your opponents veritable terrorists; talk of unity means energizing supporters to get in their opponents’ face; advocacy of a campaign of principles reduces Romney to a veritable ogre. Plenty of presidents have proved vicious, but few so adept in attributing their own base behavior to others."

Beautifully said by VDH about such a vile, digesting human being.

"Changing our history" is necessary to the progressive movement. Demonizing the proponents of liberty requires a cartoonish notion of American history. De-humanizing one´s opponents makes eliminating them much easier on one´s conscience. Blaming and shaming the highly productive classes is a Communist tradition only one step removed from cattle cars and re-education camps.

All true (and all obvious, though nicely stated). The story is: why do the lo-fo´s and others not notice? Every day I encounter people who think everything is just peachy-keen. I think they´re afraid to look closer, for fear of being accused of racism. Although it´s seen as a tired argument, the most compelling argument, is ´imagine if Bush (or Nixon or whoever) was doing this . . . ´

Would someone please nail this entire article to the White House door! It hits Obama square in the eye with the truth regarding the consequences of his fundamental transformation of this country. Well done! I especially liked this part: "... a new precedent has been established that the public is supposed to weigh two considerations in assessing scandal: the truth versus the damage that the truth can do to a progressive vision of a fairer America. So far the truth has lost."

Some of what is happening these days reminds one of an occasion way back in 1959, when Fidel Castro visited New York City....he was feted, cheered, idolized....just saying; frightening memories.

Running throughout the venerable VDH´s piece is the underlying Obama philosophy of punishing his enemies and of creating dependent Democrat voters (same thing).

Obama has indeed "transformed America". He thinks it´s for the best because it empowers government and, by extension, it empowers him to grab more and more power and more and more of the private sector.

The confiscation of private property and guns is next.

It is chic to lament how "extremist" Republicans like Ted Cruz are hijacking the GOP for no reason. The above qualify as "no reasons"? Excuse me if I don´t join the pragmatists among the GOP who insist "we must win first." They´ve been saying that every time we win something and what has it gotten us?

The GOP doesn´t know street-fighting. They´re too refined, too nice, too moral. How do you UNtransform America if you´re trying to fight dirty-fighters, liars, cheaters, fraudsters and amorality in general?

Is the GOP perfect? Of course not. But we could be less chicken-poop when the excrement hits the fan, like with this gov´t shutdown. We´re going to be blamed no matter what. Better to be blamed while standing up for what is right, than by falling down on our swords every time we´re called names.

Barack Obama, named for Mohammed´s trusty horse, is a hateful lunatic, from an alien background, dragging us to an alien place of dhimmitude, of lost liberty, and of enslavement.

But bits and pieces of a Red Line are being readied.

And VDH has standing to speak. His horizons stretch out for the thousands of years that Goethe set as the benchmark. Obama´s voters [those who don´t live just in the election computers...] have horizons that stretch from the yammerin´ maws in their pounderin´ jowls all the way to the Obamaphones on their ears, while the crooked pols in league with him have horizons that stretch to their next brokers´ statements.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodies?

The Patriots do. The Patriots do.

My friends, I think we have a Hitler Lite on our hands.

When I graduated from high school in 1960, I read a book entitled The Case Against Adolf Eichmann. It was a timely book, because the world was still cleaning up the mess from WWII. Adolf Eichmann had just recently been captured in Argentina by the Israelis, and they were in the process of bringing him to trial.

Well, with that book, I was forever hooked on reading about WWII (German Theatre). The reason for this fascination probably was ancestry(grandmother) plus the Germans looked so much like Americans. Mentally, I could put myself in the Germans´ shoes to try to understand how they could allow so much horror to take place in their country. I used to ask myself: "If I were a German back then, would I have condoned the actions of Hitler´s regime against my dear and good friends who were Jewish?" I couldn´t imagine the horror of these dear people having to go to a concentration camp and then being put in a gas chamber.

In high school history classes we used to shake our heads at the utter stupidity of anyone following such a crazy person as Hitler with his ridiculous mustache. Hitler seemed more funny than a serious leader; yet, we never trivialized what he did.

Maybe VDH didn´t intend to compare the Obama regime to anything resembling Hitler, but I see the similarities to Hitler´s tactics (without the horror) that Obama is using.

"Obama sees deficits not just as necessary to prime the economy, or as a tolerable consequence of huge increases in federal spending, but also as a mechanism to serially raise taxes on the upper brackets, as a desirable redistributive end in and of itself. "

That is what I´ve been saying all along. Obama isn´t even using the extra money he gleens from the rich/middle class for a good cause: the money just seems to disappear down a rabbit hole and the nat´l debt is unaffected. Every chance he gets he pounds his chest like a silver back and says "it´s time for the rich to pay their fair share". He IS the rich, that ignorant fool.

BTW John Kerry silently signed Agenda21 last Wednesday. No mention in the MSM, believe it or not. My Patriot email purports Obama has an Exececutive Order ready to go if Senate won´t ratify. Agenda21 also bans private property as #12 mentions. Wait and see the reaction if he does do his mainlining of an EO on guns and propertyand he´ll see a consensus among Americans he can´t refute and then some!

Do you seriously listen to Ø? He speaks of his political opponents, and his words accurately reflect his own actions. He alleges that the Repubs are divisive; Ø is the most divisive President ever. He alleges that the House wanted to shut down the Government to spite him; he has shut down the Government to spite the Repubs.
He accuses the Repubs of refusing to negotiate; he then refuses to negotiate.
He says that the Tea Party Patriots will not compromise; he then refuses to compromise. I can list many other examples, but these will suffice.

The dude has a serious TRANSFER problem. He images his own deficiencies on his opposition.

That is sick, friends.

#16 Hitler did not have to contend with an armed citizenry. Hitler could fast track his tyranny without much resistance.
Obama is not so lucky because of that pesky Second Amendment. The mind set of Hitler was the fact that he could use the barrel of a gun and Germany was in total poverty.
Obama had to destroy the economy unlike Germany and he is a certified ´coward´ Hitler was not. Remember Hitler was a WWI former soldier Obama is a coward communist ´choomer´ (doper).

It is called Ericksen Psychology. You can look it up. It is a form of brain-washing.
Obama uses hi-falutin´ words to lull listeners with the cadence. Then there is the content. that involves using words that we know the meaning of but Obama uses them in a different way.
He uses facial expressions too as part of the psych-out, to wit, the rase eyebrows, the finger gestures like jabbing and open-palmed motions. the eyes are used, i.e. when he talks of the gop leaders he half-closes his eyes as a sort of disdain.
It is a sort of mass hypnosis. and NPR does not help as they use their own soft tones and goofy explanations to lull people into sleep. Same with MSNBC.
I wish someone had checkd Obamas fingerprints to see if it is the same person that went into "Pock-ee-stahn"
in 1980 for 6 months or year.

The VDH analysis is a MUST READ. His two key
points that point to Hitlerization, are executive fiat, hwere our dictator can get away with almost anything, and a communist driven press and media (no longer really news, but a propagandist tool). That gives the occupier of the White House and all his
commie comrades a dictatorial advantage never before enjoyed over the people. It also gives the communist driven Congress great "cover" to act in teir sleazy corrupt
way while most of the attention is mis focused on Hitlerian Hussein. Thanks to VDH pointing out the rape of executive orders,
that go unchecked by Congress and the lap dog media news actors like Diane Sawyer, Brian Williams and Steve Pelley, our true
MINISTRY OF PROPAGANDA. Hitler had Goebbels.
Hussein has Sawyers, Pelley and Williams all
pleaantly, deceptively frightening.

Obama accuses Republicans of wanting to "burn the house down if they don´t get their way 100%." This, from the man who is, by his own definition, "burning the house down" if he doesn´t get his way 100%.

If Republicans would only go to the Fort Hood army base and shoot unarmed American soldiers while shouting "Allahu Akbar," Obama coud find a way to work with them.

If Republicans would just endorse a campaign of genocide against all Jews, or start hanging gays, beheading critics and flying planes into buildings, Obama could negotiate with them....

But, Republicans want limited, Constitutional government, and that idea terrorizes Wise King Barky, so that means the Republicans must be terrorists.

All hail Wise King Barky.

Can you imagine how much, much worse things would be if Obama were intelligent, or Reid and Pelosi had brains, or the DNC media goofs were actually clever? Why, America would be a full-fledged fascist state by now. As it is, these bunglers have created immense damage with their crude behaviour, but they have left such a stinking trail it gives hope for reform. Even the stupid ones are going to be crying for salvation from the onslaught against the economy and the society. These asinine politicians have brought havoc, but they have taught lessons that will not be forgotten for a long time. Maybe even the the accommodating Republicans will learn a lesson!

Yet, even if this essay had been widely published, with abundant documentation, just before the election in 2008, the evil one would still have been elected. The voting public was eager to be ravished, and Obama was even more eager to be the ravisher. The malformation of America, the product of this unnatural and unholy union, was then inevitable.

VDH should continue the conversation with a synopsis of possible future scenarios in the USA. Examples:

1. The citizenry finally rises up and brings down the federal government.
2. A new political party is formed creating a re-awakening of American ideal, is elected to power, and the country is restored. The repub and/or dim parties finally die and disappear.
3. The death spiral of the American way continues and Americans are plunged into despair forever.
4. The USA splits into multiple sovereign nations, but the political divide will remain.
5. Bible prophecy holds true and the USA and the world is plunged into chaos, only the believers will be saved into an eternal happy life.

Take your pick which scenario is most likely.

#33, interesting points...

Perhaps the most likely scenario is one that is already occurring in some states...

The secession movement to form a new state from an existing one...

This is already under way in Colorado, mainly in some northeastern counties in
response to recent new gun control legislation by the lefty Colorado
state legislature...

And for a while now in California...
When I lived in Los Angeles for five years (twenty years ago), I opposed talk of
breaking the state into two states...
Northern and Southern.
(Some people said it was "too large" to govern the whole state as one.)

Today the movement is to divide according to political ideologies...
Certain counties, some of them inland and more rural, would like to form an
Eastern California, a more conservative entity than the current legislature...

And now I believe some of the northern counties also feel disenfranchised by
the shenanigans in Sacramento, and are organizing a breakaway movement.

About five of our fifty states used to be part of larger states...
The most recent breakaway was West Virginia from Virginia during the Civil War...
if I remember correctly.
(You can look it up... there are recent articles on it.)

The great thing about dividing California is that we could finally unlock some of
those Electoral College votes from the Left Coast liberoids...
The Left Coast portion would be smaller and less influential and politically powerful.

I love California, a great place, but I´m sick of surrendering so many
Electoral College votes to nutty liberoids who outnumber normal people there.

It’s no secret that Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) don’t like one another. They battle regularly over legislation and their Senate floor fights over arcane-but-important rules have become must-see entertainment for senatorial insiders. According to aides in both parties, the two leaders have not had a one-on-one sitdown to discuss legislation (or anything else) since late last year. Nowadays, all business is conducted on the phone or in brief discussions on the Senate floor. Part of that feud is political – Democrats targeted McConnell in 2008, Republicans targeted Reid in 2010, Democrats

Army veteran Joshua Zarecor was at an apartment complex near the West Fertilizer Co. facility, watching firefighters battle a blaze there last April 17, when the plant suddenly exploded, shattering glass in the complex and causing its walls to collapse. Misty Lambert, 38 years old, who had moved to West several weeks earlier, said she had invited Mr.

"The heavens reek, the waters below are foul ... we are in a crisis of survival." That´s how Walter Cronkite and CBS hyped the first Earth Day, back in 1970. Somehow we´ve survived since then, and most of life got better, although I never hear that from the worrywarts. Of course, some things got better because of government: We passed environmental rules that got most of the filth out of the air and sewage out of lakes and rivers. Great—but now we´re told that we´re in big trouble because greenhouse gases cause global warming. I mean, climate change. "Crop yields are

If Condoleezza Rice were as self-pitying and politically crass as Attorney General Eric Holder, she would be wondering aloud what it is about her race and gender that accounts for the hostility of her enemies. Rice’s recent speaking gigs on college campuses and her ascension to the board of the file-sharing company Dropbox have sparked protests calling for her to be disinvited, cashiered and generally isolated and shamed. Condi Rice is not a natural lightning rod. She’s such a disreputable figure that she’s on the board of the Kennedy Center and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. She’s such a lightweight

As a "government drone" hovers over Matt Rosendale, the Republican House candidate from Montana tells the camera what he thinks of government overreach, regulation, and "spying on our citizens." Then, standing in front of an ATV, Rosendale coolly puts a rifle to his shoulder, looks up through the sight and "downs" the drone with a single shot. "The federal government is too big and too powerful," Rosendale says. "I´m ready to stand tall for freedom and get Washington out of our lives," he says. Rosendale is trying to stand out in a five-way primary for Montana´s at-large seat in the House. Sporting a barn

A story is told about Robert L. Bartley, late editor of the Wall Street Journal, and his penchant for long silences. He is supposed to have once taken a job applicant to lunch at which, though the two shared a meal, neither spoke a syllable. That is no doubt apocryphal; the job applicant probably said something. George Washington had a taciturn streak, as did President Coolidge, known as “Silent Cal.” (Snip)But rarely does anyone get as upset about it as Jeffrey Toobin of the New Yorker appears to be in respect of Clarence Thomas. Toobin came unglued at the disinclination of

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote in her forthcoming book that she was “hurt” and “angry” by 2012 reporting on her fraudulent claim to Native American heritage. “What really threw me, though, were the constant attacks from the other side,” Warren wrote in her book “A Fighting Chance.” “I would almost persuade myself that I was starting to get the hang of full-throttle campaigning and then — bam! Out of left field, the state Republican Party, or the Brown campaign, or some blogger, would launch a rocket at me,” Warren wrote, adding, ”I was stunned by the attacks.” This reporter (blogger?) reported extensively

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,
