Barack Obama’s health-care conversion
Politico, by Carrie Budoff Brown & Glenn Thrush

Original Article

The most important red line of Barack Obama’s presidency was scrawled hastily in January 2007, a few weeks before he even announced he was running for president. Soon-to-be-candidate Obama, then an Illinois senator, was thinking about turning down an invitation to speak at a big health care conference sponsored by the progressive group Families USA, when two aides, Robert Gibbs and Jon Favreau, hit on an idea that would make him appear more prepared and committed than he actually was at the moment. Why not just announce his intention to pass universal health care by the end of his first term? Thus

Obama´s signature ´achievement´ legislation was written by a bunch of aides and interns. No one, including Obama, even knew what was in the bill but they proceeded to shove it down the throats of Americans anyway. The backlash hasn´t even begun.

This is a pathetic article describing Obama as a victim of his own deception.

Liberalism is a mental condition based on advanced rationalization.

It must be confronted each and every day with reality-based responses.

Obama is responsible for what comes out of his mouth!

Pretty much doesn´t matter if this bill is good for the country, its people or the economy, Obama and his cadre of fellow travelers wanted to make a big political statement and they have to the detriment of everyone. It is more important to these progressive bullies to get this monstrosity in place than do the right thing with health insurance. It is all about their legacy and Obama´s presidency. The icing on the cake is the control of every man, woman and child in this country, the growth of government and crushing defeat of Republicans.

#3, while I completely agree with your assessment, I believe that it´s useless to confront liberals with reality-based responses. They DO NOT understand reason and logic. What they DO understand and relate to are emotion-based responses. In a group setting especially, they will back down immediately if I use LibSpeak words like SHAME, UNFAIR, or FOR THE CHILDREN to make my conservative point.
Try it sometime. You will be amazed how easily they are converted.

Fauxbama defies human calculation. You can´t believe anything that he says, since he regularly contradicts it two days later. Nor can you interpret ´what he does´ since there´s no ´he´ there; he regularly delegates to flunkies so he doesn´t have to take the blame for their foulups. It´s sort of a ´don´t do what I say but do what I ask other people to do for me´ kind of presidency.

THE large company that handles prescriptions for the military RAN OUT of a basic, but essential medication that keeps people without an active thyroid alive.
They were unable to fill prescriptions, so add shortages of essential medicines to up coming problems. Will diabetes meds and insulin be next? Is this part of the solution the government has to eliminate people who use medications? Wasn´t there a closed door meeting of all the large drug companies with Obama around the time Obamacare was passed?
I was able to find my medication at a local pharmacy, but was forced to pay THREE co-pays for the normal, 90 day supply, instead of ONE co-pay with the normal supplier.

The Unaffordable Uncaring Act is very popular inside the Beltway, except for the Members of Congress. It is so good for the country that they cannot stand for the idea that it would apply to themselves.
What´s wrong with that picture?
UUA is a signature part of Ø and his notions of government. Vast hordes of unaccountable bureaucrats will impose rules and regulations, without the possibility of appeal.
The Act does nothing about health care. It does, on the other hand, bring one sixth of the work force into the Union fold, from which dems can guarantee themselves permanent re-election. It is the thought of permanent status which leads dems to support the Act so fervently.
It is about politics. All Politics, all the time.

Obamacare is not a free-market approach to providing health care. It is a fascist approach. Insurance companies are not allowed to decide the products, at what price, they will offer. Government bureaucrats who are, in turn, commanded by a small group of politicians, including “judges”, control their policies.

Who are the conservatives? They are the ones who accept humanity as it is and have the courage to keep government intervention to a minimum in society. Liberty and faith in mankind is the cornerstone of conservatism. If faith in mankind is a mistake, then no controlling politics can be redemptive. Treat people with civility and you will have a civil society.

Who are the socialists? They are the strident statists who believe that a cadre of politicians and bureaucrats can regulate mankind according to their ideas. The goal of their “leaders” is to find joy and ego satisfaction in exerting control over their “underlings”, who are the people. This is why academics find socialism so appealing. It is a convenient way for them to gain power.

Conservatives are anchored to reality while socialists are motivated by ego and ideas, and this is the source of their dismal failures. The greatest progress for mankind occurs when people are free of coercion by mindless masterminds.

As a consequence of socialist interventions in America, manipulative and unsavory people populate its politics.

Welcome to the First Reich!

Sadly, #18 is right, IMHO. Chief Justice Roberts could have stopped this - he could have stopped everything before Obama was elected. There certainly was plenty of evidence that Obama is ineligible to become the President. Once elected and Obamacare was challenged, Roberts could have swung the decision to "unconstitutional" instead of going the "tax" route.

So, what is it that Obama has on Roberts that an otherwise very smart, well-grounded, and educated person would accept the lies of a fraud?

It breaks my heart to know that a person schooled in Indiana [state of my birth and education] could be so stupid as Roberts. At least he wasn´t born in Indiana - he was born in New York, which may help explain why he was out-of-touch with reality. One of my best friends in college was from LaPorte, Indiana, where Roberts went to high school and was such an outstanding student and athlete. He certainly pulled the wool over President Bush´s eyes and that of some very distinguished legal minds.

The genesis of ObamaCare and his belief in it was a political whim, a lark, a strategy worthy of a city council seat, not toying with the fate of our enormous and in many ways great health care system in this country. The eeny meeny miny moe selection of the issue over immigration and climate change... The article reeks of Obaman disregard and arrogance. Proponents of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) insist that the law will extend health insurance to millions, expand access to health care, and improve Americans’ overall health. But, as the New York Times recently reported, at least 20 percent of the new enrollees have not paid their premiums. They therefore do not really have insurance. But even for those enrollees paying premiums, having health insurance is not the same thing as getting good health care, or any health care. In fact, it doesn’t matter how many Americans obtain insurance under the ACA. Most will have difficulty finding a physician. Many Americans

A few years ago, the corruption convictions of several prominent plaintiffs´ lawyers put a spotlight on dishonesty in American civil courts. Now the sleaze has burst back into the news with cases involving Chevron and Dole Food Co., this time with an international twist. Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K

The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.
