Obama says fight for gun laws
´ought to obsess us´

Associated Press, by Nedra Pickler

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 9/22/2013 11:57:21 PM

WASHINGTON— President Barack Obama on Sunday memorialized the victims of the Washington Navy Yard shooting by urging Americans not to give up on a transformation in gun laws that he argued are to blame for an epidemic of violence. "There is nothing inevitable about it — it comes about because of decisions we make or fail to make," Obama said. Reprising his role of the nation´s consoler in chief after yet another mass shooting, Obama issued a call to action on gun control measures (Snip) "Our tears are not enough," Obama told thousands gathered to mourn at the Marine Barracks.

Quick! We have to disarm the law abiding population so the terrorists can strike our schools, our malls, and our public transportation without fear of being struck down in the act.

ENFORCE THE LAWS YOU HAVE!!!

There! Got it out of my system.

And remember: The Navy Yard shooter was stopped by good guys with guns. There is a difference.

Obama never misses a chance to try and exploit something.First he had the gall to launch into a petty attack on republicans while these people were being shot up and then he tries to exploit it again by injecting politics into a memorial service.

What he should be doing is ordering a report on all the system failures that allowed the shooter access to the facility and how he was able to buy a shotgun with his past record.

Liberals always want to pass more laws instead of enforcing the ones on the books. You never see any background reports on any of these mass shooters because they´re somehow connected to liberals. If a white NRA member ever did this, they would turn over every rock to build a case to disband the NRA.

Why aren´t these victims families demanding an investigation into how it happened?

Clinton disarmed the military at bases in 1992- Hasan and Fort Hood were the result.
Barack HUSSEIN Obama the putative son of Muslim Marxist bho sr - wants to disarm Americans.
Why? So he can slaughter Christians like his Kenyan cousin Odinga?
Were any of the weapons on the mall in Kenya from Obama in Benghazi?

This man is totally alien to American culture as I know it to be. I´m not surprised, just ashamed he´s put it out there for the whole world to see. On a daily basis...

No, Mr. President, the gun is not the social issue just the political one.

The real issue that should obsess us is the mentality of the person HOLDING THE GUN!

No Family!
No Spiritual center!
No Job!
No Media journalism to know the Truth!
No Mentor!
No Hope!

And what is the answer from Washington?
"Let Big Government" take care of you by just voting for Democrats and blame Republicans and the NRA for your problems.

Desperate people will support desperate politicians. In 1776, there was a response to that!

The Obamboozler acts like these criminals somehow didn´t already break any laws already on the books! He disregards the fact that we already have plenty of gun laws and that the largest, organized group of law-abiding citizens in this country is the NRA and that not one of these murdering criminals are NRA members! Taking guns away from law-abiding citizens is only an invitation to murder. They´ve tipped their hand and showed us what their real intent is by taking guns away from the military because they can. See what happened???

If you are a Thinking Person, you are not walking around in today´s America unarmed. You´re armed and you spend time on the range, preparing yourself for the "unexpected."

Given the words of his speech, I guesss that all the shootings and killings in Chicago don´t count. 5 more killings this past weekend and nary a word about it. And I forget what the yeary count is. And that´s just one city. I wonder if those doing the shooting passed all of the gun controls that are in place in Chicago. Somehow I doubt it.

Not sure about obsessing re keeping Americans getting guns because he is all about gun running. So no credibility there. Pot calls kettle black.

What needs to be addressed is gov not acting on red flags and not enforcing existing laws as mentioned above. Did Obama ever consider he brought on the act with racially devisive statements? The brutality of the shooting needs to be highlighted: Not sure of the gauge used but it was probably 12 gauge. Anyone who has ever fired a 12 gauge knows that it would be unspeakable cruelty to shoot anyone with it.

It is not the guns it is the freedom Obama and his fellow travelers want to grab from you. The guns are a means to an end. If they ever succeed, you will no longer be free and they know it. They don´t offer real solutions to all the gun violence because it is the only thing they can point to and scream for gun control. They create their own crises by ignoring the violence running rampant in big cities like Chicago, Detroit, LA, Washington DC, etc. Progressives are zealots when it comes to gun control. The only guns they are comfortable with are the ones under their control.

Never in the history of this country has one man done so much to undermine the constitution and the freedoms we have been guaranteed. We are going to lose it all from within and the stupid liberals all take these freedoms for granted. God help us please.

I had to laugh when Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbuck´s told his customer not to bring guns into the cafes because his customers "were uncomfortable" with it.

He should have just hung up signs outside his Starbuck´s cafes saying "CRIMINALS NOTE: Good place to shoot up! No one has a gun!"

Obama´s gun comments are like his other comments - subject to revision in the next five minutes, so there´s no story here, really.

Yet another distraction from his own woes. Election 2014 has them frightened. Why do you think pelosi has been been let loose this soon ?. To try to quash her leaders scandals and put a few more socialist laws on the books before it´s too late, as well as bash the GOP at the same time ( she´s adept at this ). Bozo´s ´ economy´ speeches fell flat. Syria is over ( for now ) and now Africa looms. Deathcare is on the ropes, and their really big score, immigration, looks doomed as well. While I´m here, why the hammer job on Cruz ?. Because he has them frightened as well. Both sides of the DC aisle. Back to 2014, right ?. Keep that front and center and everything makes sense.

The fight to protect and preserve the Second Amendment is very much alive and strong Mister Prezidint. How about an obsession with criminally insane control, how about obsession with laws that have minimum mandatory prison sentences of 50 years with no chance of parole for using a gun signed into law. It´s not the gun, it´s the trigger puller.

Everyone reading this thread is a hypocrite if you own a gun but do not financially support the NRA! Take a stand and send the NRA some money so that they can continue to defend your 2nd Amendment right. If everyone who legally owns and responsibly uses a gun would send in just $10 dollars to the NRA, we would never have to worry about tyrants like comrade Hussein ObaMao trying to disarm us (while fully arming our enemies).

Barry, disarm ! Start with yourself !
What if Barry caused all these mass murders
so that he could come out the next after death minute with a prepared speech about taking guns away from everybody? What if imposter Barry had a whole secret armed army
of shooters to create this regular havoc so that he could continue to make speeches about the dangers of honest people owning these dangerous weapons? Lenin practiced this same thing. Lenin had innocent masses
hanged, shot, killed just to scare the hell out of the peasants. The innocents died to create more fear of the government. The only
difference between Lenin, his propagandists,
and Obama and his Feinsteins, Puglosis, Boxers, Bloombergs, Schumers, McConnells,
McCains, Holders, Sawyers, Brokaws, Pelleys and Jarets propagandists, is that American peasants have guns and will fight back if and when necessary.

There is a huge elephant in the room that every one is ignoring because it is sooooo politically incorrect.

All US urban cities with the highest crime rates are overwhelmingly committed by one group of people. From LA to NYC and from Seattle to Miami.

Excuses like racism, slavery, no jobs, can´t get no education, government forcing inner city ghettos to get hooked on drugs, and it is Bush´s fault is sooooo yesterday.

White guilt, affirmative action, the massive extortion campaigns waged on huge corporations for AA hiring and admissions to college, phony law suits against white people and so on and so on have allowed this societal disaster to explode in the last 50 years.

BO on his own catipulted to strastopheric proportions.

And along with this agenda, is BO´s barely veiled agenda that it is open season on whitey. It is so obvious that his goal is to disarm law-abiding whites to be the sacrificial lambs in BO´s relentless race war.

What I find completely insane is that he panders to the stupified white audiences at all these memorials where most of the people killed were white, yet not a mention of his many home towns of Chicago.

A disarmed public becomes a nation of sheep. Easy pickings for a government armed-to-the-teeth and for criminals who do not obey laws. Those leaders pushing ever-more laws are secure in gated or guarded residences, and some have body guards. They could care less about the peons ... just look at Chicago and DC where gun laws are tough and firearm murder is nonetheless commonplace. Obama seeks to remove the right of self defense from ALL Americans. Only someone inimical to your welfare would do that.

Jones, 18, was held on $1 million bail after appearing in Cook County bond court Sunday afternoon. Prosecutors said Jones approached a man who was outside his residence on the 9300 block of S. May St., checking to see if his recycling bin was full when Jones approached the man and fired at him. The victim began running away and fell to the ground, said Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Naheda

The first family attended Easter services Sunday at the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, a Northwest Washington congregation that welcomed the Obamas on the eve of the president’s first inauguration. The Obamas’ motorcade left the White House shortly before 10 a.m. (Snip) The motorcade pulled up to the church, about four miles away, just after 10. The first family arrived through a tented entrance and sat in the second pew in a mostly, but not completely filled church, joining an estimated 250 others. The president wore a light khaki suit. The first lady was wearing a cream dress and sweater. Daughters

CLEARWATER — In the mid-1970s, Wayne Phillips saw a television program telling the story of the Shroud of Turin, a centuries-old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. At first, he was miffed. Years of Catholic schooling — Jesuit High School in Tampa and Notre Dame University — and he had never known about this artifact? (He would later learn that it was a delicate subject at the Vatican.) A doctor, he has a curious mind. A mind shaped by logic and by science. But as a Catholic, he understands some beliefs are still a mystery. He

WASHINGTON — IT’S weird to be jealous of your car. But I am. Men look at my car with such naked lust, their eyes devouring the curves and chrome, that I often feel as though I’m intruding on an intimate moment. Women like it, too. They sometimes grin and give it a thumbs up as it growls by, and one girlfriend fondly refers to it as “the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Goddess car.” But the icon evokes a special feeling in men. It’s the Proustian madeleine of cars, stirring old dreams and new. Guys sometimes follow in the American beauty’s

California’s unemployment rate is rotten and holding steady. In March, according to the Los Angeles Times, the rate was 8.1%. In February, it was exactly the same. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the state only added 11,800 net new jobs in March, many of them in construction, government, education, and health services. The greatest gains were in professional and business services, with 3,100 new positions. But the jobs numbers in hospitality, manufacturing, and leisure dipped, and the biggest drop came in financial activities, as the slowing rate of mortgages forced banks to fire employees. The field of finance

Morgado is the star of Son of God, by executive producers Mark Burnett and wife Roma Downey, which continues to thrive in theaters, pulling in $59 million since its debut Feb. 28. Downey believes there will be a "spike" in attendance at theaters this weekend because of the spiritual holiday for a film that has already proved a box-office force. "People are in that head-space and in that heart-space. It´s that time of the year where people are much more reflective and much more open to connecting with

SCARBOROUGH, Maine- John C. Houbolt, an engineer whose contributions to the U.S. space program were vital to NASA´s successful moon landing in 1969, has died. He was 95. Houbolt died Tuesday at a nursing home in Scarborough, Maine, of complications from Parkinson´s disease, his son-in-law Tucker Withington, of Plymouth, Mass., confirmed Saturday. As NASA describes on its website, while under pressure during the U.S.-Soviet space race, Houbolt was the catalyst in securing U.S. commitment to the science and engineering theory that eventually carried the Apollo crew to the moon and back safely. His efforts in the early 1960s are largely

Democrats have a problem and everyone knows it. President Obama calls it a “congenital disease.” If they can’t control it, Obama could spend the final years of his presidency battling not only a Republican House but also a Republican Senate. Democrats don’t vote in midterm elections. That’s an exaggeration, of course, but the core of the Democratic coalition is made up of many people who turn out to vote only in presidential elections. The Republican coalition — older and whiter — suffers less from midterm falloff. So much has been made of the building blocks the president assembled to win his

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like

President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. “On the third day, he rose again.” That line, from the Nicene Creed, is a foundational statement of Christian belief. It declares that three days after Jesus died on the cross, he was resurrected, a glimmer of the eternal life promised to believers. It’s the heart of the Easter story in seven little words. But how that statement is interpreted is the source of some of the deepest rifts in Christianity — and a stumbling block for some Christians, and more than a few skeptics. Did Jesus literally come back from the dead in a bodily resurrection, as many traditionalist
