At least 23 people have been shot, five of them fatally, in Chicago since Friday, police said. The weekend violence began just one day after 13 people were injured in a Chicago park. The victims from Thursday´s shooting included 10 males and three females, including 3-year-old Deonta Howard -- known as "Tay-man" -- who was shot in the jaw and listed in critical condition. Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said an assault style rifle with a high capacity magazine was used in the park shooting. McCarthy added that based on witness interviews, the attack appears to be gang-related, as several

Hey, how about when Obamacare kicks in, those of us who have to buy our own policies who work for a living and do not have a criminal/drug background - we don´t have to be in the same price pool as those who do. I´m just wondering how much places like Chicago drives up the costs of the uninsured.

Just like the Malll massacre in Nairobi. Our mulatto in residence never,never opens his yap about these incidences. If it happened to be a black thug shot by a white person (Hispanic or otherwise), you would have heard him decrie the shooting from the roof top.

Since Chicagobama lets it happen without saying a single word of it, he accepts it and by saying nothing encourages this to go on and on. If Chicago was not in the Democrat Crime Syndicate and in fact was a Republican majority city, and this kind of thing went on with no end in sight, you would hear the Democrats yelling about it from the Moon. Government works.

Yes, I find it very strange that these massacres go unmentioned by ANYone in authority, from 0bama to mayor Emanuel. They certainly don´t make the news here where I live.

However, after reading what he told the CBC, 0bama´s going to take action to shut down the Chicago chapter of the NRA!!?!

The longer this situation in Chicago goes on, the more appalling it makes the democrat party look. The rotten core of what passes for democrats of today makes old style dems like FDR, LBJ and Truman spin in their graves.

I just watched the special features disk to the final film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I finally know what defines an Orc. Orcs are literally walking rotten corpses, stinking of their hate and corrupt souls. The democrats are all a bunch of Orcs.

The left´s hands are frozen when they can´t bring repblicans into the situation to blame.Although I´m sure there´s quite a few liberals,black and white who actually believe giving these people reparations would calm their anger down and they would suddenly become civilized.

Obama has gone way overboard reaching out to muslims and they´re just as angry and vicious as ever. But Obama´s natural inclination on anything is to side with the the bad guys.

There never has been or ever will be a successful appeasement effort that works the way it´s intended and that´s because it´s impossible to make vile people content.

The irony here is that Leftists like Bob Beckel keep explaining the carnage in Chicago as a "drug gang war," declaring that nothing can be done about it, and --using the old Mafia axiom, saying that no one is getting killed who shouldn´t. Actually using that Leftist Logic as an excuse for the violence and murders.

You can´t make that kind of stuff up and sell it as fiction.

It appears that Law Enforcement are frozen in place, hiding under their desks, and not the least bit interested in taking down the "King Pins" behind the carnage. No gang units in Chicago? No intel?

Name me one single thing that any Leftist every put his hands on that wasn´t a steaming pile of excrement.

FTA "Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said an assault style rifle with a high capacity magazine was used in the park shooting."

I find it interesting the words chosen by the Police Superintendent (assault style high capacity magazine) was used in the shootings.

What one really needs to understand is that America has no assault style rifles.

Firearms in America come in the following configurations:

1. Black Powder mussel loaded weapons;
2. Pump Action firearms;
3. Semi-Automatic weapons and;
4. Automatic weapons.

Any of the firearms listed above can be used for assaulting an individual or a group of individuals. And, there are some sub-groups within the four conifurations above (i.e. Lever Action weapons, but uses a tube magazine) but I digress.

So, I am at a loss to understand which of the firearms mentioned above were used to kill and maim these individuals and groups in Chicago? Items 2 – 4 above have tubes or magazines which hold from 8 – 28 rounds in them. I do wish NBC could get some facet of its reporting right. Perhaps that’s too much to ask for from them.

And the 2013 murder rate is still lower than 2012. An old cynic might wonder whether the only thing new is that all of the black-on-black murders are now being reported. Not that the press cares any more than they ever did. They just have a new anti-gun narrative to promote, so they fill the pages and airwaves with stories about "gun violence." But nothing is really different. None of it is new.

For more than 30 years, Hustler’s flamboyant publisher Larry Flynt has continued to send the monthly magazine to every member of Congress. Since 1983, Hustler has sent the porno mags in plain manila envelopes to every Congressional office as Mr. Flynt’s unique way of petitioning the government, National Journal reported. When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. Speculation that Biden’s comments on “Meet the Press” in May 2012 were meant as a trial balloon, Becker writes, came from people “not privy to the

AUSTIN, Tex. — The last nine months of Rick Perry’s tenure as the longest-serving governor of Texas were supposed to be a political victory lap. Greg Abbott, the Republican state attorney general, and Wendy Davis, the Democratic state senator, both of whom are vying to replace Mr. Perry, have been sparring across Texas. Meanwhile Mr. Perry has been traveling the country and the world promoting the robust Texas economy and bolstering his national profile as he considers another run for president in 2016. Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote in her forthcoming book that she was “hurt” and “angry” by 2012 reporting on her fraudulent claim to Native American heritage. “What really threw me, though, were the constant attacks from the other side,” Warren wrote in her book “A Fighting Chance.” “I would almost persuade myself that I was starting to get the hang of full-throttle campaigning and then — bam! Out of left field, the state Republican Party, or the Brown campaign, or some blogger, would launch a rocket at me,” Warren wrote, adding, ”I was stunned by the attacks.” This reporter (blogger?) reported extensively

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,
