Caroline Kennedy sells out Camelot
New York Post, by Maureen Callahan

Original Article

As the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination approaches, so does the merchandising onslaught — books, movies, commemorative magazines. But there is one aspect of this commercialism that remains surprising: The most shameless huckster of Kennedy mythology and memorabilia is Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg. Her public image is that of the classy, quiet keeper of the Kennedy legacy, the civic-minded former lawyer who publishes books on poetry while her cousins crash into trees and kick nurses. With the bar for Kennedy comportment set so low, it’s almost impossible for Caroline not to look good. Look closer, though, and it’s clear that Caroline’s image is

Typical Kennedy offspring. Maybe someone should ask Mary Jo Kopeckne (sp) what she thinks of the Kennedy crime family. Oh, that´s right, Uncle Teddy offed her, so she´s unavailable for comment.

Camelot exists only in the minds of JFK worshippers, so how much actual "selling out" of a myth is possible, I´m not sure. Maybe Caroline valued those items for exactly what they were- just memorabilia from a myth...and decided to make a buck off of it by selling to the J Petermans of this world (Seinfeld fans will understand). She doesn´t sound like the brightest bulb, and yes, probably Kennedy greedy, but she is wholly propped up by the synchophants who worship the name.

Evidently, Barry had not read Edward Klein´s recent book, "The Amateur," before appointing Camelot´s Princess Caroline as Ambassador to Japan:

Camelot is a media creation, as all thinking people know. The Kennedys, as a group, are not a pretty picture, though many still believe that they were American royalty. At least they served in the military (more or less, in Teddy´s case), unlike Fauxbama, the head of the chum club.

#5, I know it´s nothing new....read about it after he died in that plane crash. Out of curiosity I compared pictures, amazing resemblance. Recently there was an article, I think in WSJ magazine on men´s style about Agnelli with lots of pictures, one of which showed him with Jackie and the comment that they had had an affair, no dates given but back before the assassination there was a lot of gossip about Jackie and the European yacht set. There is no way that JFK Jr got those dark good looks from the Irish Kennedy´s.

If JFK Jr. was really Giovanni Agnelli´s son, that would explain why he was so much better looking than most of the other Kennedys. The "Kennedy look" gene must be uber-dominant because you can spot one a mile away, except for John-John.

The trashy, exceptionally greedy, and "oh-so-not-beautiful" Caroline is dumber than a box of rocks. Much as she works on her "studied" commentary, it only serves to enhance her stupidity and highlight the fact that she´s annoyingly dull. The best Kennedy trick the flounder eyed Caroline has mastered is dialing for dollars at any opportunity—and it´s always interesting to see her in the company of those she considers the "important and beautiful" people as she all but holds court. And now she´s an United States Ambassador hand-picked by the jug-eared muslim looking to curry favor for whatever was in his sights at the time. Here´s hoping the Japanese are fully awake and recognize that she´s no more than a Kennedy to the core.

I always assumed JFK, Jr. got his dark, handsome looks from Jackie´s father, who was known as "Black Jack" Bouvier.

A friend claims JFK, Jr., looked like Peter Lawford, who was a Kennedy brother-in-law.

I´m not impressed by the Kennedys, or by Caroline, who seems to have dropped her "Schlossberg" name.

There is no apparent resemblance between JFK, Jr. and Giovanni Agnelli, but Jr. did
take after his mother´s side of the family and his DNA grandfather, Bouvier.

The hit piece is catty and chatty, but there is no law against making money.

President Kennedy famously said,

I´ve seen and heard Carolyn Kennedy over the years as she´s grown up and have never been overwhelmed (to put it kindly). She´s an ordinary woman with modestly pleasant looks and not a great intellect - regardless of her legacy. Her speaking ability is surprisingly inadequate. She´s just not an impressive person. It doesn´t matter to many, who think she´s still the adorable and perfect little princess of Camelot. I had much more respect and admiration for her mother. Never got the whole mystique of the Kennedys. Most are, and have been, just ordinary at best, although misfits and egomaniacs in this family are in the majority.

Exactly #23. Jackie´s dad was extremely handsome. John was lucky to avoid the ´look of the Kennedy´s´. Something else too, part of her fortune comes from her late brother´s estate at the time of his death.

The bigger rumor out there is that she was involved with NYTimes owner Pinch S. at the time of her attempt to get a Senate seat. That was why she had to withdraw her nomination. She needed to keep that nugget quiet.

They´re all hopeless. Did like JFK´s look and language, definitely liked RFK, Bobby’s anti Communist infighting with Senator Joe McCarthy, Roy Cohen and G David Schine (who later produced the classic Gene Hackman film, THE FRENCH CONNECTION). The Kennedys were absolute proof that the elite can do anything and get away with it. Teddy killing
Mary Jo and staying in office FOREVER is living proof of both loud and silent elitism (which we have today in all Washington connections – call it Hillaryism) The good news: Ted only killed one person.

Over 2 billion people are celebrating Easter today, April 20, as the calendars of Western and Eastern churches coincide this year, and these billions of faithful people are celebrating HOPE. The Easter message begins with the hopeful news that death has been overcome by life, that hatred has been overcome by love, and that sorrow has been overcome by joy. The elements of the story involve women arriving at a garden tomb and finding it empty, but even better, meeting the risen Lord, the embodiment of life and love. Their lives are changed forever and so are the lives of many, many

The French version of the Easter Bunny is Easter Bells (les cloches de Pâques)—which allegedly fly to Rome for a few days before the holiday to be blessed by the Pope before returning with chocolate eggs for the kids. But you don’t have to hunt very far to find French chocolate and pastry shop windows full of Easter eggs all trying to out-cute, out-class, or simply out-design one another. WHAT ARE the implications for Taiwan of China’s continued rise? Not today. Not next year. No, the real dilemma Taiwan will confront looms in the decades ahead, when China, whose continued economic growth seems likely although not a sure thing, is far more powerful than it is today. Contemporary China does not possess significant military power; its military forces are inferior, and not by a small margin, to those of the United States. Beijing would be making a huge mistake to pick a fight with the American military nowadays. China, in other words, is constrained by the present global balance

WASHINGTON — Daniel Swalm was researching his family when he came across a disturbing episode in immigration history. That discovery would lead to a move in the U.S. Senate to apologize for action the nation took more than a century ago. Swalm discovered that under an obscure 1907 law, his grandmother Elsie, born and raised in Minnesota, was stripped of her U.S. citizenship after marrying an immigrant from Sweden. Swalm had never heard of the Expatriation Act that required a U.S.-born woman who married a foreigner to "take the nationality of her husband." This “Open Letter to the Friends of Ukraine,” by a guest columnist who writes under the pen name of Irina Gokieli, dated April 19, offers the author’s pessimistic scenario of forthcoming events in what Vladimir Putin now calls “NewRussia.” “NewRussia” encompasses southeastern Ukraine and parts of Moldova. A three-year study of how network news refers to “Easter” reveals that by a margin of 500-56, reports that mention the word or “Easter season” choose a secular path linking it to candy Peeps, frilly clothes and cocktails over Christ’s resurrection. “Instead of celebrating Christ´s rising from the dead, the networks have made it about ´egg-cellent Easter fashions,´ frilly Easter bonnets and pink martinis,” said a report from the conservative Media Research Center provided to Secrets on Good Friday. The study reviewed three years of news in the two weeks before Easter and found that about 89 percent of the references to

Construction on Saudi Arabia´s Kingdom Tower, which will be one whopping, expense kilometer tall, is set to commence next week, according to local reports. The Kingdom tower will measure 3,280 feet when completed, which stretches 568 feet taller than the current Guinness World Record holder for tallest man-made construction, the Burj Khalifa building in Dubai. The building will dominate the skyline of the coastal town of Jeddah on the Red Sea. If you´re afraid of heights, you´ll definitely want to know the 200-story building will feature a massive 98-foot terrace jutting from the side of the 157th floor. The Kingdom Tower won´t come

Holder’s undermining of the

Attorney General Eric H. Holder was reminded during a recent congressional hearing that he has been held in “contempt of Congress” — for nonproduction of subpoenaed documents. He interrupted with a personal rebuke of his questioner. Later, he suggested that questioning of his leadership, nonresponsiveness to congressional oversight, and referring to the contempt vote was evidence of racism. The accusation was made a second time, perhaps as a political stratagem, by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Let’s stop there — and stop the deflection, too. No attorney general of the United States is entitled, for any reason, to escape scrutiny of Congress,

3 Times I Was Framed for Murder –

Have you ever been blamed for a murder? Speak out against jihad terror, and you probably will be. It has happened to me three times (so far): 3. Reza Aslan blames me for murder of Muslim woman in California. Last Thursday in El Cajon, California, an Iraqi Muslim named Kassim Alhimidi was found guilty of murdering his wife, Shaima Alawadi, after she had told him that she wanted a divorce. Before Alhimidi was arrested, this murder was widely reported as an “Islamophobic hate crime”: a note was found by Alawadi’s body that read, “Go back to your country, you terrorist.” Leftists and Islamic

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

I began reading the entirety of the first section of the New York Times at nine years old, and continued that practice, more or less, for decades.(snip) ...the power of reverence, intrinsic to what I call the “cascade” of The Times: the near avalanche-like flow and distribution of information through electronic and print networks: through like-minded network newscasts, magazines, local newspaper s, blogs, daytime talk TV, late-night entertainment, statements at media award ceremonies, the celebrity Twitterverse, etc. The cascade rolls through Saturday Night Live, Jon Stewart, The New Yorker, the mouths of third-grade teachers, Elmo, Madonna and Susan Sarandon …through

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.” Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one
