Caroline Kennedy sells out Camelot
New York Post, by Maureen Callahan

Original Article

As the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination approaches, so does the merchandising onslaught — books, movies, commemorative magazines. But there is one aspect of this commercialism that remains surprising: The most shameless huckster of Kennedy mythology and memorabilia is Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg. Her public image is that of the classy, quiet keeper of the Kennedy legacy, the civic-minded former lawyer who publishes books on poetry while her cousins crash into trees and kick nurses. With the bar for Kennedy comportment set so low, it’s almost impossible for Caroline not to look good. Look closer, though, and it’s clear that Caroline’s image is

Typical Kennedy offspring. Maybe someone should ask Mary Jo Kopeckne (sp) what she thinks of the Kennedy crime family. Oh, that´s right, Uncle Teddy offed her, so she´s unavailable for comment.

Camelot exists only in the minds of JFK worshippers, so how much actual "selling out" of a myth is possible, I´m not sure. Maybe Caroline valued those items for exactly what they were- just memorabilia from a myth...and decided to make a buck off of it by selling to the J Petermans of this world (Seinfeld fans will understand). She doesn´t sound like the brightest bulb, and yes, probably Kennedy greedy, but she is wholly propped up by the synchophants who worship the name.

Camelot is a media creation, as all thinking people know. The Kennedys, as a group, are not a pretty picture, though many still believe that they were American royalty. At least they served in the military (more or less, in Teddy´s case), unlike Fauxbama, the head of the chum club.

#5, I know it´s nothing new....read about it after he died in that plane crash. Out of curiosity I compared pictures, amazing resemblance. Recently there was an article, I think in WSJ magazine on men´s style about Agnelli with lots of pictures, one of which showed him with Jackie and the comment that they had had an affair, no dates given but back before the assassination there was a lot of gossip about Jackie and the European yacht set. There is no way that JFK Jr got those dark good looks from the Irish Kennedy´s.

If JFK Jr. was really Giovanni Agnelli´s son, that would explain why he was so much better looking than most of the other Kennedys. The "Kennedy look" gene must be uber-dominant because you can spot one a mile away, except for John-John.

The trashy, exceptionally greedy, and "oh-so-not-beautiful" Caroline is dumber than a box of rocks. Much as she works on her "studied" commentary, it only serves to enhance her stupidity and highlight the fact that she´s annoyingly dull. The best Kennedy trick the flounder eyed Caroline has mastered is dialing for dollars at any opportunity—and it´s always interesting to see her in the company of those she considers the "important and beautiful" people as she all but holds court. And now she´s an United States Ambassador hand-picked by the jug-eared muslim looking to curry favor for whatever was in his sights at the time. Here´s hoping the Japanese are fully awake and recognize that she´s no more than a Kennedy to the core.

I always assumed JFK, Jr. got his dark, handsome looks from Jackie´s father, who was known as "Black Jack" Bouvier.

A friend claims JFK, Jr., looked like Peter Lawford, who was a Kennedy brother-in-law.

I´m not impressed by the Kennedys, or by Caroline, who seems to have dropped her "Schlossberg" name.

There is no apparent resemblance between JFK, Jr. and Giovanni Agnelli, but Jr. did
take after his mother´s side of the family and his DNA grandfather, Bouvier.

The hit piece is catty and chatty, but there is no law against making money.

I´ve seen and heard Carolyn Kennedy over the years as she´s grown up and have never been overwhelmed (to put it kindly). She´s an ordinary woman with modestly pleasant looks and not a great intellect - regardless of her legacy. Her speaking ability is surprisingly inadequate. She´s just not an impressive person. It doesn´t matter to many, who think she´s still the adorable and perfect little princess of Camelot. I had much more respect and admiration for her mother. Never got the whole mystique of the Kennedys. Most are, and have been, just ordinary at best, although misfits and egomaniacs in this family are in the majority.

Exactly #23. Jackie´s dad was extremely handsome. John was lucky to avoid the ´look of the Kennedy´s´. Something else too, part of her fortune comes from her late brother´s estate at the time of his death.

The bigger rumor out there is that she was involved with NYTimes owner Pinch S. at the time of her attempt to get a Senate seat. That was why she had to withdraw her nomination. She needed to keep that nugget quiet.

They´re all hopeless. Did like JFK´s look and language, definitely liked RFK, Bobby’s anti Communist infighting with Senator Joe McCarthy, Roy Cohen and G David Schine (who later produced the classic Gene Hackman film, THE FRENCH CONNECTION). The Kennedys were absolute proof that the elite can do anything and get away with it. Teddy killing

Before the cannons fired at Fort Sumter, the Confederates announced their rebellion with lofty rhetoric about “violations of the Constitution of the United States” and “encroachments upon the reserved rights of the States.” But the brute, bloody fact beneath those words was money. So much goddamn money. The leaders of slave power were fighting a movement of dispossession. The abolitionists told them that the property they owned must be forfeited, that all the wealth stored in the limbs and wombs of their property would be taken from them. Zeroed out. Imagine a modern-day political movement that contended that mutual funds and

In a new book released today, Massachusetts Democratic senator and potential presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren attempts to rewrite history regarding the controversy surrounding her “Native American” ancestry that emerged in the 2012 Senate campaign. What’s remarkable is that, at least in the initial book reviews, the press largely allows her to get away with it. In fact, it’s virtually ignored that to this day Warren still refuses to release any law school records that may shed light on this controversy. To be fair, most reviews note that Warren has never substantiated her claims of Native American heritage, which is true.

Wendy Davis’ campaign has had its problems. The revelation that her life story of personal struggle and triumph as a single mother was embellished was a game changer. Her campaign has had a communications problem as well, playing media favorites and putting Davis on stage with a shotgun in a Dukakis-in-tank moment. There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. After years of litigation, the Supreme Court on Monday said it would decide if Congress or the State Department has the final say in whether U.S. passports acknowledge Jerusalem as part of Israel. This touches on one of the most sensitive issues in decades of Middle East conflict, and the case also presents a major separation-of-power conflict between the legislative and executive branches. The controversy is over a 2002 law passed by Congress regarding passports. It says that a U.S. citizen born in Jerusalem may request his or her birthplace to be listed as Israel. President Obama and other officials like to point to projections by the Congressional Budget Office to show that ObamaCare "is working," as the president put it. "Twenty to 33 percent are actually newly insured and out of 8 million, that would be no more than 2 to 3 million people," said David Hogberg of National Center for Public Policy Research in Washington. A 15-year-old boy displays compassion and bravery as he confronts a woman his father mugged, even offering to pay her back with his own money. Not only is this boy’s action incredibly admirable, but the woman’s response is just as great.

It’s impossible to exorcise the memories of 2012. But Rick Perry is going all out to present a new and improved version of himself — the swaggering big-state governor of old, with a dash of seasoned wise man thrown in. In the early months of 2014, his political team has booked him on one high-profile program after another: He’s joked with Jimmy Kimmel, charmed the “Morning Joe” crowd and wowed the Conservative Political Action Conference. The Texas Republican’s hip glasses are still earning approving media mentions long after he first donned them. And the possible 2016 candidate has spent time

When incumbent Democrat Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR) attacked his midterm opponent Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR) last month over his supposed sense of “entitlement” from his military service, it prompted widespread scorn and mockery — not least of which included pointed reminders that Pryor owes his own political career to his dad. The NRSC hammered Pryor and its DSCC counterparts for their “unacceptable” attacks on military service, but Cotton himself has opted for a lighter touch. He called his drill instructor to demonstrate just what military service taught Cotton, and “entitlement” doesn’t make the list:

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

New audio reveals an Eastern Connecticut State University professor warning that Republicans will “want things to go back — not to to 1955, but to 1855? if they win control of Congress in November. Republican victories could also put him out of a job, he cautioned. “We will live in a very, very, very different kind of country if that happens,” Professor Brent Terry told students in his Introduction to Creative Writing course, according to audio obtained by Campus Reform. “I mean, colleges will start closing up if these people have their way.” Over the course of his rant, Terry characterized conservatives

As he moves from lobbyists to the golf course, from press conferences to the tanning bed, he remains oblivious to all that is around him. He has power, incredible power, and yet to this day he has no understanding of the election that made it so. Moreover, all around him are astonishing opportunities for him to be an historic figure -- one who could and should be the man who did more than any other single person in turning back the red tide of Obama. It’s all there for Speaker of the House, and yet John Boehner manages to miss

Global sea levels have risen by 8 inches (20cm) since 1880 and scientists predict they could rise up to 3ft (98cm) by 2100. But despite the UN’s recent threats of war, famine and extreme weather, such a dramatically different world caused by sea level rise can be hard to imagine. To help picture the future, Martin Vargic, an amateur graphic designer from Slovakia, has created a map depicting the planet with sea levels around 260ft (79m) higher than they are today. He imagines what Earth would look like if the ice sheets surrounding the North and South poles melted, releasing

It may not be tomorrow, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says "something will happen" to force a Nevada rancher to obey a court order to stop grazing his cattle on federal land and pay his grazing fees. "It´s obvious that you can´t just walk away from this," Reid said in an April 18 interview with a Nevada´s KSNV-TV News 3 program “What’s Your Point?” "You can´t have a law that is -- we´re a nation of laws, not of men and women," he said. The Citizens Commission on Benghazi, a self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn´t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier. ´The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,´ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline. She blamed the Obama administration

Harry Reid isn’t backing down from his claim that rancher Cliven Bundy’s supporters are “domestic terrorists.” It’s astonishing rhetoric given the White House’s characterization of the mass shooting by a genuine terrorist, Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 Americans at the Fort Hood Army base after yelling “Allahu Akbar!” (God is great.) Rather than labeling Hasan’s actions “domestic terrorism,” the Obama administration is prosecuting him for having committed “workplace violence.” Democratic rhetoric is become ever more desperate and overheated as we approach the November midterm elections. Last week, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that GOP positions on immigration were motivated by
